Fine Gazz, we'll use your turret script all you had to do was ask

although i dont know much about m7ms (using them is on my to do list ) im nt keen on the whole fight revolving around who has the most missles and who can fire them first.
does anyone have any idea where the staging ground shud b (sector) its gotta be reasonably sized, no npc ships to get involved, asteriodless (maybe), and no fog if videoing is gna work?
*edit* the last two arent much of a problem as they can easily be scripted around*

Actually, since its a scripted fight to begin with, with the fleets scripted in also, scripting in a totally empty, jump drive entry only sector will work too.

Avarice, otherwise known as that Unknown Sector between Montalaar and New Income. It's huge, well lit and mostly empty. A few asteroids and a ship debris to the south, but nothing to worry about. Best of all, no stray ships are likely to fly through there, only the very rare Xenon or Pirate patrol, but those could add a little 'spice' to the proceedings.

M7M's wont do much with Gazz Mars in the mix so yeah add that too.
I'm curious to see the results here. Maybe the alpha stages of this could just be 200-300 million. Players will need to use the equip ships like command for full bay fighters.

2 Teladi TLs from Ceo's Sprite filled with laser towers cloned from the military base should come in at around ~180mil, the remaining ~20 million would be spent buying and selling the freighters to clone that many laser towers. Between them you could carry ~850 laser towers. Clone some fighter drones with the change and fill up any remaining space in the TLs...
I imagine you could probably do the same more cost effectively if there are other shipyards attached to military bases given the cargo size of the albatross compared with say the mammoth...
Expect some losses from friendly fire hehe...

Why clone if you can script?

How about Best of Three, or Best of Five, just to ameliorate the random factor a little which is always involved in AI controlled battles?

I like the idea of best of three since it should help remove any luck involved

Wouldn't sorting each fleet into wings affect how they fight? restoring some of the tactics?

Because with cloning, you still have to pay for them, thus using up your allotted funds.

But if the intention is to create a fleet worth X credits, then you either call scripts to create that fleet or tamper with vanilla interface to reach the same. That is not about the price, is it?
