I am thinking about building my own missile complex. I am thinking about the Omicron Lyre sector.
I don't really know what missiles i should aim to build.
Any suggestions?
I am open to suggestions on ships to use these missiles also.

In a recent game I built missile complexes in adjacent sectors to Omicron Lyrae (Treasure Chest and Nyana's hideout) as they have roids, energy and good light (unlike OL) so you can see your handiwork
Missiles I went for:
Hammers and Flails for equipping my Cobra M7M used for boarding, and large scale combat e.g. sector levelling
Typhoons as a general "heavier" missile for various ships, e.g. Hyperion M6, plus other M7s, and M2s
Wasps as light missile for anti fighter work - I equip all compatible ships with them e.g. my personal M6 or above would normally have 150+. They are very useful for escort and other missions to knock out the faster fighters. Carrier wings e.g. Solanos or Elite M4s based on a Panther also benefit from having 25 or so Wasps per fighter as part of their standard combat load
I also built Mosquitos for the "Missile Defence Mosquito" bonus pack script or manual anti-missile work. These really help lower the enemy missile threat in intense battles

OL is a nice place for complexes imo because of it's low view distance. It has a few roids there and a lot of energy nearby (for me, COL, Heritics end, Nyana's Hideout & Elisium of Light). However, there really isn't that much in the way of silicon roids in that general area. I don't think any Terran Missles would sell as they don't have any market for them there. Mosquitos sell well however.

I love it when a good complex comes together. Actually putting it together however, is a big pain in the butt. |

If i build a complex it is going to be for my own consumption needs not for selling.
I was planing to use the Terran unknown sectors but decided they are worthless without jump capability.
SOOOO i am planing to build primarily in the systems leading to the Terran sector. As long as I can get supplies within 6 jump gate range i am good.

In most of my games I've found that the entire stripe of sectors from Cho's Defeat to Queens Retribution is prone to pirate/xenon problems. Including circle of labour and heretics end.
I'd probly put it in the Asteroid Belt. Some nice resources, you can jump there and the terran military sort most things out. If you are only producing for yourself, you dont have to wrry about the terrans killing your customers.
If you ever plan to have an M7M, you can never have enough Hammers and Flails.

You could have a TL / Trading Station in Neptune and use fast ships to transfer goods from the complex to the TL / Trad. Stat. with CLS 2.

I see people talking about building large complexes all the time around here. I'm not sure i am a fan of a large complex with all the issues they case with lag and pathing and such. Right now i own 4 station not of them are connected. I do plan to connect my crystal fab L to my Silicon mine L though once i have high enough Peranid rep for the tractor beam.
I think i would prefer smaller specialized complexes. Right now i am still in the early stages of the game. I have spent more time reloading then actually playing. The Terran economy can not support my needs for missiles or guns. When the stations do have them it takes forever to gather them manually as this is the only way I know to do it at the present time without the bonus pack install or a TL as a mobile gathering station.
I still like the idea of building up the Terran economy but i fear this will take hundreds of millions of credits. I still have not unlocked the ability to build Terran stations though. As soon as i get this hired TL to drop the station it is carrying for this goner mission i am gona run about doing the plot lines to get all my faction rep up with each species.

thisll solve your lag problem =]
also, you can put LTs in the terran area so that they keep the area afloat, the best way to do this that ive found is:
LTs with a +1 range in:
venus, jupiter 2 saturn 2. this covers all the major areas with guns and missiles.
then if you want to beef up the eco even more:
LTs with a +2 range in:
neptune.
you can(usually) easily train up to 6 STs at a time to the necessary lvl (6 and 8 ) in the argon and teladi sectors right outside terran space.

Right now i have about 11 Mercury freighters running supplies and selling for the 4 stations i own. I was thinking about buying a couple spare freighters and training them so i can swap out ships and train all my freighters to be STs to do jsut what you are talking about.
