Duration depends entirely upon what level they are in a given skill before you intitiate a training session, so no answer to that one. Bear in mind tho training them beyond 3-stars for standard boarding ops is a waste.

Except for Engineering, maybe: the repair cost/sell price is in direct connect with the engineering skills. After some bigger ships they will earn the extra cost.

Thanks for the info. Lastly (for real this time), how many marines you guy's figure would it take to cap a Hyperion for personal use? Twisted Evil And how do I set mosquito missiles to missile defense?

The amount of marines required depends on the onboard defense, on the fight skills of the marines and on your luck. So... I dunno.

The Hype is tricky. It has turrets all around so to try to board it with a TP is very risky. Even if you fill up the area with drones (they are also vulnerable by those turrets, so you have to use more than for an usual M6 boarding). The alternative is to go with a well shielded M6, but that means that you will have only five marines instead of six.

To use an M6 as launch ship is the same as with a TP, except for the maximal amount of marines which is only five. (TPs can hold ten marines.) Beware of the M6s with lots of blades or other funny extensions, it's easy to damage your target. And the viewpoint closer the rear section the better to control the process.

It's also useful if the speed of the M6 is at least in match with the speed of the Hype.

I suggest you to train up your marines in fighting first and then go with a Dragon.

For the missile defense: call up the ship command window and set one of the 'additional ship command' slots to 'Mosquito missile defense'. If the fight softs are installed and you have mosquito missiles onboard then it'll be OK.

Is there any quick key to tell all my drones to target shields only or I have to do it 1 by 1?

No hotkey, unfortunately, so you have to do it one by one. With keyboard it's not so bad.

The alternative is to go with a fighter wing. There is a wing command 'Attack shields' but this solution requires much more management and has its own weak points.

Ps.: and to do it by a fighter wing is hardly for first times Wink

I tried and failed 3 times.. lolz.. but then it's good practice. Only reason why I am doing it now is because a Hyperion Vguard just wandered into an Argon sector, problem now though, it got bodyguards!

Ummm my TP have space for 10 marines o.O

A pack of drones can solve that problem quite effectively. Through the command console you can broadcast some commands to all of your drones in the sector (don't work for the shield attack command).

Good luck for that op - you will need it Smile

I dunno why is that. But those oddities are why i did not recommend that command in the guide.

Try the additional ship commands - launch all marines instead.

@TRxGenesis

I would never use that command (Command menu to select piracy -> board target ship) on a ship that I am flying but I have had success using two TP ships supporting me in my M6 on boarding ops.

You still get the autopilot taking them round in circles at times but as even if you have to issue the command a couple of times it is very satisfying when all the squads reach their target and complete the boarding.

Thanks, Rive, btw can you also make a list of fast keyboard strokes I need to hit in order to select different drones quickly and make them attack shields?

Laughing

That would be exaggeration, don't you think?

I think you have to get familiar with the menu and control controlling sooner or later, so: sorry, but no Embarassed
