i am new(ish) to using boarding pods. but i never gave thought to whether or not i could use them to get m6. are they only for certain classes of ships or can i use them on all but fighters? i am asking instead of testing it myself as i haven't reached a well enough spot to try it myself just yet in ap

The boarding pod can only be fired by M7M craft - the Minotaur, Kraken, Cobra, Ares, Gannet, Senshi, or Sirokos.
You can fire boarding pods AT any ship that can be boarded by Marines -> M6, M7, M2, M1, TL, TM
The pods will NOT work against -> M5, M4, M3, M8, TS, TP.
This might be stating the obvious, but don't forget to actually have marines on your ship to launch with the pods. They're sold separately.
