Description

A remake of the "Rescue the Boron Princess Menelaus" mission in the games till X3: Reunion. You will be able to only do it one time unless the mission is aborted.
The requirements to start this mission is to have the sixth boron rank.

This MD script is set up to use the Galaxy News System. While it is not necessary to play this mission, it adds a lot to it and therefore it is strongly recommended to install the GNS as well. It can be downloaded here:

I commented the MD script out practically entirely. This way it can serve as an easily-understandable example for other MD beginners like me. :)

Installation

Copy the two directories contained in the archive into your X3: Terran Conflict installation folder.

Technical Information

The MD script uses the string L2M401 and the file is called 2.401 Rescue Princess.xml .

The MD script uses text page 7125 and adds a line to the Egosoft text page 353200 (50001).

This is my first MD Script. It is simple and short and not comparable to most other MD Scripts available out there. But hey - who doesn't want to play the shiny knight and save a princess from certain death? ;)
(A squid princess but a princess nevertheless. :D )

cool! Never did the mission in reunion. Finally got chance to do it now that I am in TC :P

Well, the mission is from X2 and not from X3R, right?

It might even be from before X2. Not sure. But it was available in X3R as well IIRC.

Hmmm I assume this works... but I'm in Kingdom end and I'm suppose to talk to the Representative of the Royal family, the book icon is showing up on the trading dock but when I go to talk to the person nothing happens, there is no book icon next to the person to further the mission along.

So I'm a bit lost, I would assume it's broken =\

Thanks, SS-T! I tried looking for this earlier this year after playing through all the games, but the links were down by then.

In regards to now years old discussion, this mission is in all the X-games going at least as far back as X-T, and I ~think~ I remember doing it in BTF as well, but my memories could be confusing BTF with X-T on that point...

Now all that TC/AP need to be complete are customizable ship & station logos, and a big boss fight vs an M0 with giant spinning arm things you need to duck around to shoot little shield pods things on the surface. :D
