I tried the corporation mission for Atreus HQ. The first mission for the peace loving Borons is an assassination mission. I have higher rank now, so my target was a Paranid Odysseus. My Tyr took him out, of course, but my shields were down to 5%. Since it really was a Paranid, my rank with the Paranid went down to Desecrator of the Holy Light. I'm glad I have Salvage Insurance.

If you are going to do corporation missions, start Atreus early when your rank is lower.

I believe you cannot avoid this particular mission, if you want further Atreus missions. One set of my Hub gates is nearby, so it was convenient. I'll try very hard to get by without the Kea that is the final reward.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

Thanks.

Cap the target. Much smaller reputation loss and the larger escorts then jump out. Get your marines off quickly though as the ships you take from this have a habit of vanishing (I capped a Python and a Raptor doing the first Strong Arms mission and both mysteriously vanished before they could make it to a shipyard).

First off, if you want the Kea I should go and work for NMMC, more chance of getting it from them than Atreus... Wink

Secondly, I believe you can get away with boarding the Oddy (may still need to destroy it after) for a smaller rep loss - though there still could be support craft to deal with.

One other option is to stack up a load of build missions for the Paranids before taking the mission, so you can give your rep a quick boost afterwards (may want to avoid them in heavy Paranid military sectors!!)

I don't think the Boron's would give you a Teladi ship as a reward. I think you mean a Skate Prototype, which you can find one for free anyways.

Thanks all, for your replies. Simon, I'm not certain that it was a Kea. The Skate is the middle reward, I believe, and sounds pretty good. I'll give all this some thought. Thanks again.

The way i currently do these missions is to jump in my M3 to the target and kill them.

Currently 26hours game time and im still harmless 0% but have done 10 or so killl missions for corps.

Amazing! The wisdom of the Forum comes through again. I took the Atreus mission, with the target being a Paranid Oddyseus. I had already accepted some Paranid build missions before I began, in case they froze me out after the mission (thank you, dillpickle).

I set up the turrets for my heavy hitter Tyr with the front turrets Attack my Target. I made the back, and up/down turrets Missiles Only. I didn't want independent attacks on support ships, and more rep loss.

I jumped in, brought his shields down a lot, and then RAMMED him. (less rep loss). Maphys suggested capping, but there was too much to handle with all the support ships. But just as capping has less rep loss, so does ramming. Thank you, maphys, for starting that thought process.

Three build missions later, my Paranid rep is back on top.

Thanks, all.

This mission is a big mess. others also have this type of killer missions. Paranid sure was p*ssed at me for awhile. blew away my satellites and had to make rounds to apologize individual M7 patrols of the paranid.

Strong arms corp got this type of mission too i guess? havent tried it.

Strong Arms are interesting. They want you to nerf your reputation with ... the Split!

Just like the Dukes, if you think about it. Wink
