Hi,
Thinking of starting X3 after a long break with the Terran+ (M4) start senario....
Having never really got very far in this game, im wondering if its a bad place to start?
I mean do you have access to all the other races nearby, or our you in your own little world until completing some plots???

So i can start as a terran and go exploring the universe, much like any other start position then!
Are you able to trade with any other races at the start?

There's not as much money to be made trading as there aren't as many factories. Also, the sectors are huge.

But i could always nip into the nearest Argon sectors and start trading there though eh!

You're also kind of far from an early source of jumpdrives.
Spoilers about unlockable jumpdrive locations:

The Earth Torus sells them but you need to beat the Terran plot to gain access to Earth, which requires you to jump to Aldrin.
The Goner Temple will also sell it once completed.

It's not a bad plot to start off with. Plus you unlock another start when finished.

In fact you can't even dock there, (since the Terrans were only introduced in X3TC) you may be thinking about a previous game. (not sure just guessing) But the jumpdrive can also be found in some of the coorperation headquarters such as Otas, Terracorp and Atreaus. |

I'm not sure but there may be more places where it's available.

I did the Terran start when I bought x3tc (a few weeks ago) and no problem at all with the terran start. I was familia with the game from x3r and knew where I needed to go for jumpdrives and so on though. Spent my time traveling to terracorp attacking the dukes transports to start my trading fleet and let the terran economy fail.

Well sorry, Just checked and it turns out and you can dock there, and they do sell the jumpdrive. Sorry, my bad.

I'm pretty sure after completing the Terran campaign a new start unlocks called USC Commander
|
USC Commander is much like Terran Defender except you start in a Scimitar and have full access to the entire Sol system from the start making getting those Jumpdrives and other hard to get technologies easier early on.
