Hello everyone
I have encountred a strange issue when i installed some .xsp ships whith X rebalance mod:
After i installed the ships i couldn't dock to any station(except the shipyard and the trade dock) and i couldn't dock to any ship too.
I asked in the XRM thread and Paulwheeler told me to ask here,
He also told me that he think that the problem is that "the PM seems to merge TShips with installed mods when installing XSP ships, but not other important files such as Components or Dummies etc. So When you install an XSP, these files revert to their vanilla versions and this breaks many mods. "
Its possible to fix this?

I'm Having trouble with the g15 display. I'm getting the no game error. I went into the lcd manager to change the game location but the configure button is disabled for the x-universe lcd display app. I'm sure this has been asked before but I could not find the proper answer for my question. Please note that I saw the fix I'm attempting on your old g15 app forum post. So I may be going about it entirely wrong.
Thanks for your time

I think the only way to install an XSP ship is to extract all the required files and merge the changes into the XRM versions.
In any case, this is an issue with the PM, not the XRM so should be brought up in the PM thread if you want a resolution. |
Any chance you will make the PM import other files like those paul mentioned so it works with XRM / other mods? |
the PM merges TShips, TCockpits, Dummies, Componants, Animations, Bodies and CutData

so what could cause that strange issue?
Do you think that is caused by XRM and not by the PM?
Paulwheeler said that the problem surely isn't caused by XRM, any ideas on what culd be the problem?

Hi Cycrow, I was referred to you by icEPiraka when he was unable to answer my query (see below) and was wondering if you had any insight.

I'm playing X3AP-Mac and trying to edit ships from: http://letreferit.narod2.ru/ in xsp format (using Package Creator), which are editable in every respect except for the Turrets tab where the Main Cockpit box reads: No Scene File Loaded!! (ships\props\cameradummy:0) and is greyed out.
Is there a fix for this, or are these ships unusable?
 |
I'll be honest, I have not really used the Package Creator or XSP editor at all, so your question might be better spent on someone who has experience in using these tools and in modding in general. This doesn't appear to be a Wine problem, so I don't think I can fix your issue. You might try asking in Cycrow's X Plugin Manager topic, since my Plugin Manager tools are simply ports of his original work. |

Heres a story for you Cycrow, started trying to add just a few more missiles and another 125 shield to make the argon TM a little more military. I tried everything, the manager gives us lots to work with, but only the AP weapons and missile list gives you descriptions of what each 'group' is..so was experimenting blindly. Got the specs I wanted..nothing really big..120mps,3 shields,5 missiles instead of 3..including silkworms, and a few more weapons, and faster recharge rate. At first it gave me about everything but no shields (3x none) and then I got shields but the weapons went nuts, way more than it needed OR could use, finally after a bunch of tries got everything at least close and bought one, and found.....I was sitting in the hanger bay. Didn't touch a thing in the area for that, never even went in there, but ti changed, finally dropped way back and tried different things, git rid of some of the massive weapons that it didn't need but...all I got was some weird things like: Dragons Split,Ball Lightning, and Homing Rocks. After seeing that I gave up and put the generic TM back in game, lol.

thank you for your response. I didn't give near enough info last time and I'm unsure if it will help but here goes. I'm using the steam version of x3tc. I am launching the game via the launch button inside the plugin manager. The only AL settings in the list are: Plugin manager: export game data and monitor rank changes to notify for. My current directory is set to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict [x3: Terran Conflict V3.2b]
My current installed scripts are: advanced nav software, advanced nav overrides and skill up notifications.
My script libraries are the 3 default ones: community plugin config, hotkey manager and ware manager.
Please forgive me for being a noob as I'm sure it's a simple fix. This is my first time trying to do anything like this with the x3 series as I've always played vanilla.
Edit- I've continued to try different things to get the g15 to display anything besides game not found with no luck. I reinstalled the plugin manager into the x3tc folder located in the steam directory instead of where the default location was. It's obviously not game breaking but I sure whish I could get it to work. Seems like it would be an awesome feature to have working. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?

Maybe a new option to control Steam overwrites to directories installed
via your great Plugin Manager?
This App is my most fav.
Tex.

So, when using this plugin manager for X3 AP and TC, I use steam. I get the typical notification that the game is in a protected directory so it may not allow the scripts i'm adding in to work. How would I go about making this work? I have thought of just merely moving the folder of where the game is installed to say, my documents folder but would that mess up the game? I could use a solution, thanks

Hey guys,
In this order:
I installed the script manager
Used it to install this:
http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=244298
tried the game, no script.
Did I miss any not so clear steps? Is the script manager install and run, nothing else?
Cheers

Open the Plugin Manager, find the "Settings" menu, open "Mode", select to "Modified".

the message is only really a warning. It might work for you, it might not. You could try to install scripts and see if they work.
the warning is there because of the way windows protects anything in Program files. It blocks access to files transparently, so programs trying to access them cant tell if they have access or not.
you can turn of UAC, the protection in windows that does this, you could run it in admin mode or adjust the rights of the various folders to help. Or, the best way to simply move the game out of program files completly.
i wouldn't put it in My Documents, i would just put it else where. Alot of people create a games directory, so something like C:\Games
if the game is in steam, then you can simply move the entire steam directory. Moving a single game out of steam is abit more tricky however

in the AL Plugin menu in game, where you have the option to export game data. Make sure thats enabled (its disabled by default). Thats what exports the stats data for the G15 plugin to use.
the game launcher should give the applet all the information it needs to get this data. But you could also check the launchers options (right click it in the systray)
