Menu Background Disabler

What does it do?
This file replaces the menu-file that is loaded when entering the startmenu of X3:TC
It removes everything except the starfield background. Reduces Loading Time.

It doesn't overwrite files, if you want to have your original Menu file back just delete this file.

To reduce startup-time it's also recommended to disable the intro.
Add "-skipintro" to your destination-path of the X3TC Shortcut to do so.

How exactly should I add the "-skipintro" to the shortcut? I tried just adding it to the end, but Windows complains that it's not valid.

Select the shortcut-> properties, that will show you this dialog

behind the quotes... however this is a (german) XP, don't know how this looks in Vista
The thing behind the skipintro is the cursor not a character

Cheers Killjaeden - I was being dense. Now my game loads in seconds!

Wish someone could do the same for ingame loading but I guess that's not really possible.

Something you should know, none of these options seem to work with Steam installed versions of TC...

If they can be, I cannot find how, not through normal target field nor through the advanced launch options in steam.

For those worried about such things (even on S&M!), this start-up tweak or the skipintro adjustment will not themselves make your vanilla game (from a DVD install at least) to show **modified**.

Thanks. My graphic card is going crazy only during the intro scene, gpu load 100%, fan goes 80% which is loud. Hows yours ?
