James awoke shaved cleaned up, grabbed his bags and left the suite, took the lift down to the docking bay, put his bags in his ship, then departed, When James arrived in the cafeteria Jeff and Roger were sitting having breakfast, James Joined them,

Jeff: Roger this the boss James Hawk

James: took Rogers hand I hope I will be proud to make your acquaintance.

Roger: Sir I will do my best to insure that, Jeff told me that you have very high expectations of your personnel, I will endeavor to meet them.

James: I will Hold you to that, then let go of his hand: welcome aboard.

Roger: Thank you, they both sat down.

Lori arrived pored James a cup of coffee and took his order and left

James helped himself to the orange juice and a pastry.

Jeff: I have briefed Roger on our mission to escort the transports,

James understood the meaning: good maybe he get to see us in action.

Lori delivered James breakfast refilled his coffee: do you need anything else?

James: this is fine thank you,

Lori left.

Jeff: I will show Roger the ship controls, and check on our escorts we’ll be ready to when you get there,

James: ok, I’ll be there shortly, he watched Jeff and Roger leave the cafeteria, and started on his meal, He finished it and drained his coffee cup.

Lori: can I refill that for you?

James: no I don’t think I should have any more, I’ll be flying, But thank you for asking. He stood and left, as Lori cleaned off the table.

James entered his ship: Jake prepare to undock,

Jake: roger, hatch secured, powering up, departure granted.

James: Jeff you ready to go

Jeff: after you

Jake: departing station

James saw the 4 escorts waiting and fell into formation with them: Jeff take the lead and head to the gate.

Jeff: roger,

James fell in behind Jeff’s escorts, and watched Jeff as he approached the gate and enter,

Jeff: entering gate, then disappeared as the gate took him to Herron’s nebula

James heard Jeff’s report that the gate was clear and his escorts disappeared in the gate, James followed and arrived 10 Sezuras after Jeff’s escorts, they traveled thru Herron’s nebula to the Argon Prime gate and went thru in the same order as before, as James entered Argon prime he spotted a fighter patrol trying to catch up to a Pirate Falcon and 3 Buzzards: Jeff cut off the Buzzards,

Jeff roger,

James watched as Jeff kicked in his thrusters and turn to intercept the fighters, James followed him and called to the ships to surrender,

Pirate: you better get out of my way or say hi to your maker you dumb sh!t.

James: if you say so. And targeted the ship then launched two mosquito missiles, and prepared to engage him, He watched as the ship tried to evade the missiles and shot two of his own 1 engaged his missiles and the other was headed straight toward him, he targeted it and the main guns engaged it when it entered range and destroyed it, his missile had hit the fighters shields, and they dropped to 80%, James maneuvered to keep him in his sights and opened fir when he was in range, the Falcon who was trailing them turned to evade and escape but the Navy pilots were catching up to him and started to engage him, James watched as his guns impacted on the fighters shields and brought them down to 30 % as the pirate tried to evade, when his shields hit 10% the pirate screamed for him to stop firing that he surrendered, and shut down his engines.

James: shut down the shields and bail out, the pirate did as he was told,

James: Jake scan for contra band and capture the ship.

Jake: scanning dumping space weed, capture complete, where do you want me to send it to?

James: have it follow us for now.

James looked at the his sector display and saw that Jeff had captured the other buzzard,

And the navy had the falcon surrounded, James called to the flight leader to pick up the pirates, and asked if they needed any assistance,

Flight leader: thank you we will pick up the pilots,

James: Jeff have that fighter follow us to HOL

Jeff: roger

James followed Jeff thru the south gate to HOL, once thru the gate the escorts took up there positions, Jeff turned and headed toward the wheat farm, James noted the 4 ships enter thru the east gate, first was a transport that had taken some damage and was heading for the wheat farm, then three pirate falcons that were closing the distance fast, James hit his thrusters headed to intercept the pirates and Jeff followed him, the escorts caught off guard, were slow to turn and kick in there thrusters, James saw the station patrol turn to assist the freighter, but were too far to get to him before the Pirates engage him, James called for the pirates to stand down, but they ignored him, he selected a thunderbolt missal and fired at maxim range, the lead Falcon tried to evade, as the missal closed the distance, James selected the closer Falcon ship, and fired a mosquito missal at it and one at the evading Falcon then opened with his guns on the closer one, he watched his missals destroyed by counter fire, and continued to fire on the Falcon till the shields fell to 10% and the pilot bailed, then turned to engage the first falcon while his turrets fired on the missals locked on him, two were destroyed but one hit and took his shields down to 76%
When he achieved firing range on the falcon James fired a mosquito missal and turned to lead the ship as it turned in to his guns he opened up with all guns and watched the pirate over correct his turn and the missal hit him brad side his shields had fallen to 20 % and he turned toward the gate to flee the battle, James closed on his rear and fired again damaging his engines and dropping the shield down to 10% the pirate swore him and continued toward the gate, James reduced his guns and fired once more and watched the pirate’s shields drop to 3% and then the pirate lost power and his ship was drifting toward the gate, James called for him to surrender but received no reply, James closed and locked a tractor beam the ship, as Jake reported that the ships engines were off line and that the life support systems were damaged,

James: can we beam the pilot into the hold.

Jake: beaming, pilot secured,

James: scan for contra band and claim the ship,

Jake: roger

James towed the ship to the wheat farm.

Jeff: you ok I saw you take some hits?

James: fine but this ship is purity shot up.

Jeff: the other two are docked on the wheat farm and I have the two Pilots’ secured.

James: ok once I drop this ship off follow me in.

Jeff: ok

James maneuvered the ship to the docking lane and let it go as the station tractor engage the ship and pulled it into the docking bay, and then James landed. He waited for Jeff and the other pilots to land, told them to stand down till he checked on the transports, and would call them with the departure time, then told Jeff to follow him to check on the captured ships, then called for a carrier to pick them up and take them to the PC Hq.
They checked out the 5 fighters that they had captured 2 buzzards and three falcons 1 falcon was severely damaged and had no engine power, James asked an mechanic to see if he could get the engines repaired, and told him that a carrier would be coming to pick the ships up,

Mechanic: ok Ill see if the engines can be repaired.

James: thank you, then turned to Jeff lets go see Susan,

Jeff: ok,

As they entered the office Susan’s sectary Linda Heisman, told them that Susan was expecting them to go in.

Susan greeted James and gave Jeff a hug,: I expect you two to have lunch with me, the transport wont be ready to leave till this afternoon,

James: ok if you say so, I want to check with my pilots, I’ll meet you in the lounge at 12, James left Susan’s office and headed down to the docking area, informed the others of the flight times and told them to meet him here at 13:15, then went to check on the transports, when James entered the loading bay he was greeted by Sam King, and Anna Wilkins the transport pilots,

Sam: James good to see you, we should be loaded in 20 Mizuras, or less, Have you decided on the route we will be taking?

James: Yes we will leave here and go thru the east gate to President’s End and continue to the east gate to Elena’s Fortune then head to the south gate to Split Fire, and continue to the south gate to Priest’s Pity once thru the gate we head to the Soyery L and unload there shipment of power cells, then we will head to the west gate to Paranid Prime and dock at the Light Shield Production Complex, unload the rest of our power cells and stay there for the night.

Anna: isn’t going thru Split Fire dangerous?

James: don’t worry we have plenty of protection.

Sam: It will be all right Anna James and Jeff are the best pilots that I’ve ever seen in a fight, I fill sorry for any one stupid enough to try them.

James watched as the dock Asst manager (Mary Lou Suarez ) walked up to Sam

Mary Lou: Sam your ship is loaded, Anna there finishing yours now.

Sam: thank you Mary Lou,

Anna: ok I’ll check it out.

James: do your pre flight we undock at 13:20, James headed back to his ship. When he arrived back on the landing bay Jeff, Roger and the escort pilots were waiting,

James: the transports are ready to go, lets settle up and meet them at the rondaview point.

Jeff and Roger headed to Jeff’s ship and James entered his: Jake lets go,

Jake: hatch secured,

James strapped in, and watched the screens.

Jake: docking clamps released, lifting off

James felt the ship lift and turn toward the opening bay doors, the 4 escorts approached the door and left Jeff Followed them out and James watched as his ship fell in line and exited the station, Jeff arrived at the rally point and the escorts spread out, the Transports fell in positions behind Jeff, and he started his move toward the east gate.

Jeff picked up speed, then he was at the gate with his escorts in position, he entered the gate and they were gone,

James followed the transports, he heard Jeff report that the gate was clear and the transports entered the gate.

James watch them disappear and entered the gate. On the other side Jeff and the transports continued there move toward President’s End’s east gate, there were no other ships showing up on there screens,

James: escorts clock on. There were no reports but the 4 escorts’ disappeared from the screens and sight. They had made it to within 30K’s of the gate when two ships entered, and then 4 more they were identified as a navy patrol, and passed the convoy with out calling or scanning the ships, Jeff entered the gate to Spit Fire and disappeared,

As the lead transport approached the gate James heard Jeff report that there were 3 unidentified ships headed toward them.

James: roger, watch them were coming thru, the lead transport entered the gate then the other one entered, James followed, on the other side, he picked up the unidentified ships they were turning away from the gate and headed northward, and Jeff was turning south.

As they maid there way thru Spit Fire there were constant contacts at the edge of there scanners but no ships approached them,

Jeff: I got 6 Ships in the asteroid field head of us there using low power, I increase my scans, that was the code for his clocked escorts to move ahead and provide a scan of the area, within 4 Mizuras the 6 ships and 4 others showed up on there screens they were Identified as Hostile and no ID codes were being sent out from them,

Jeff plotted a course to the right of the asteroid field, when the field was 25K,s to there left flank the ships hiding there started there move toward them, they came out with 6 leading trailed by three, there was one ship staying hidden on the field, when the 9 ships exited the field one of Jeff’s escorts got behind the lone ship and turned on his jamming equipment, disrupting all communications within the area, as he opened fire on the shildless ship. The pilot not being able to call for help and unable to identify his attacker he a banded his ship and tried to hide in a crevice of the asteroid he was hiding behind.

Christopher moved with in transporter range and beamed the pilot in to his cargo hold and secured him there, then he captured the ship and sent a drone over to start repairs, he then turned to catch up with Darrel,

Jeff saw the pirates form up into three groups of three ships, and recognized the formation,

James: keep your heading when they get within missal range we turn toward them and lunch four missals then the trans ports continue toward the south gate, Jeff on the right group I’ll take the left , transports center group,

Sam: ok

Anna: roger

Jeff: on my mark, 20 Sezuras passed, Mark!

The ships turned as one and 16 Missals were launched, then the transports turned and continued there course,

Nikki and Patti closed on the center group, as Christopher and Darrel closed on them too.

As the missals made all of them to evade the center group disappeared and a couple of others also,

James had a ship locked in and opened fire, the ship was turning away from him and he hit it broad side ripping it’s shield off and as the ship was taking hull damage the pilot bailed, James searched for his next target locked on and watched as it shields dropped to 0% and the pilot was ejected, James looked for more targets but found none,

Jeff: I have 4 ships scanned and under my control two Pilots secured,

Jake: ship scanned, captured where do I send it,

James looked at his scanner saw 11 ships 7 captured then he saw 4 pilots trying to head to the asteroid field, he headed toward them: Jake scan them for explosives and beam them in to the hold and secure them,

Jake: scanning, transporting.

Chris: 1 ship in the asteroid field heavily damaged, Pilot secure.

James thought about his options, then called Tracy

Tracy: Hi James you need help?

James: yes as a matter of fact I have 8 captured ship and I need you to pick them up,

Tracy: I was just kidding, where are you?

James sent the coordinates,

Tracy: Split Fire! Were moving be there in five

James: Move the ships to my rear, Jeff catch up to the transports, wait for me at the gate,

Jeff: roger

As James was waiting for Tracy he watch as the ships aligned them self’s on his ship and the slow moving one from the asteroid field, then James thought about the Pilots.

James: Jeff have the Pilots brought back here I’ll let Tracy take them too.

The Phoenix 4 appeared 10K’s off of James location. And the ships started toward it. As it’s cap deployed.

James: Tracy we are sending you the pilots, one is the leader keep them apart and find out as much as you can on there base,

Tracy: ok, I’ll head back to the HQ as soon as the ships are loaded.

James: see you in 2 Tazuras.

James: Jake transport the pilots to the Phoenix,

Jake: roger,

Chris approached the phoenix and transported the pilots he had gotten from Jeff and the other Pilots, then headed back to Jeff.

Tracy: I got the pilots,

James: roger then he headed to catch up with Jeff.

James caught up with them before they got to the gate and fell in behind the transport: Jeff proceed thru the gate,

Jeff Roger,

James watched as Jeff entered the gate,

Jeff: clear

The transport entered the gate then the second transport entered, then James entered, as he exited the gate he checked the scanner only his ships were showing, Jeff headed toward the Soyery L,

Chris and Darrell made a wide sweep of the sector and got a close scan of the pirate base and it’s four gun towers, and sweep the area for mines,

Jeff waited 7Km away from the Soyery L as Sam docked and unloaded the power cells,

An Stazura and a half passed then Sam called Jeff and told him that he was ready to undock,

Jeff: roger, we’ll move as soon as you are in position.

Sam: ok

James watched as Sam fell back into the formation, and Jeff headed toward the west gate leading in to Paranid Prime, James also noted a lone M-4 trailing them and Nikki falling back to get a scan on him. The scan showed a Pegasus Raider with low shielding,

James saw Jeff enter the gate,

Jeff: clear

Sam’s transport entered the gate followed by Anna then James and his escorts, when James entered Paranid Prime he spotted two ships headed toward them,,,

The two Pegasus entered scanning range and Identified them self’s as sector police and informed the convoy that they would submit to scans,

James waited while the police scanned his ships, then they were told to continue there journey,

Jeff: roger and started toward the Light Shield Production Complex.

James saw the lone Pegasus enter the sector, as the police ships turned to approach him he turned and went back thru the gate.

Jeff: Anna dock and unload the supplies, Sam follow her in I’ll follow you.

James watches as the ships landed, he knew that the four escorts were waiting beyond the gate and would take turns sleeping till morning, James guided his ship into the station and set it down, next to Jeff and Sam’s ships,

Jake: clamps secured, hatch opened.

James exited the ship and saw Jeff talking to the docking controller,

James waited for Jeff to join him.

Sam exited his ship closed the hatch and walked over to James.

Sam: I’ll go help Anna, we’ll meet you in the lounge.

James: ok, let me know if you run into any problems.

Sam: ok and left.

Jeff walked up to James: we have these slots for 1 Tazura, and sleeping quarters for 4 persons. Roger said that he staying on the ship, he doesn’t want to take the chance of someone recognizing him.

James: ok, lets head to the lounge, James turned and headed to the exit, it took them 10 Mizuras to find the lounge, when the did and entered the place smelled of space weed and bad whiskey, James found an area in the back that wasn’t to bad and they sat down, a waitress made her way over to them and asked if they wanted a drink, James thought for a few Sezuras and asked for coffee, Jeff thought it was a safe order and asked for coffee also, the waitress left,

Jeff: I’m glad our lounges are not like this, I’m leery of eating here.

James: I know the feeling.

When the waitress returned with a stainless pot of coffee and two cups, she sat them on the table and asked if they wanted to order,

James: we are waiting for two more persons.

The waitress nodded and left.

Jeff pored the coffee, it smelled strong, he picked up a cup and took a sip, :God that’s nasty, but its hot.

James took his cup and sipped: your right It’s nasty, he sat the cup down. They waited for Sam and Anna. James wondered if the room was as bad as the lounge, if so he might just stay in his ship tonight.

After about 30 Mizuras Sam and Anna entered the lounge and found James and Jeff,

Sam: Is it safe to eat here? As he looked around the lounge,

James: I doubt it, lets go check out the room and we can decide what to do,

Jeff paid for the untouched coffee and the group left,

When they enter the assigned room it had a setting area bathroom and four beds separated by removable partitions, James doubted that the place had been sanitized within the last Jazura, and said the ships have sleep compartments and food replicators lets stay in them tonight.

Jeff: I think that’s better then here.

Anna: I wouldn’t stay here if you ordered me to.

Sam laughs: lets go to my ship and I fix dinner for us.

James: Lead on, and they left the room, and made there way down to the landing bay.

Sam unlocked his hatch and it opened, they entered and took seats as Sam prepared dinner he gave them bottled water and Argnu stake sandwiches, they talked about the days events, and when they were done with there sandwiches, James asked Anna if she need an escort back to her ship, since he had not seen it when they arrived.

Sam: I’ll take her to her ship and move it over here with us.

James: ok, see you in the morning, he and Jeff left, :you want to look at the scans with me?

Jeff: yes, and followed James to his ship.

James opened the hatch and they entered, James brought up the scans on the monitor in his cabin, he and Jeff studied them,

Jeff: pointed at the gun turrets this shows four towers, I don’t see a mine field!

James: no, there’s not one,

Jeff: I talk to Roger about it, see you in the morning. Jeff left closing the hatch behind him.

James studied the scans for another 10 Mizuras, then he took a shower and went to bed.
