James awoke with a start an alarm was going off, he looked at the clock at read 3:56 am, James put on his robe and went o the comms station, a incoming led was lit, James pushed the receive button and the screen opened with the security operator,

Operator: sir we have a alert from Ore Belt trading Station that the station is under attack, the Phoenix 3 has been dispatched, and jumped out 2 Mizuras ago.

James: thank you keep me advised,

Operator: yes sir

James disconnected the call, picked up his communicator and went back into his bed room, James sat down at his desk and watched the clock, he decides he would give Tracy 10 Mizuras, to get organized then call her.

6 Mizuras later James communicator buzzed, James look at the display and saw it was Mike, Hi Mike

Mike: James I jumped in with Tracy, the station had been attacked by 20 fighters 12 Falcons 5 Novas and 3 Busters, the busters were destroyed by the ship auto defenses, two Falcons were destroyed by the defense fighters, 2 of the pilots were KIA,10 falcons were captured 5 novas were captured, 18 pilots are being interrogated, and 1 Laser tower and the Station was damaged and is being repaired, I will call you in the morning with any information we get from the Pilots,

James: Thanks I was going to call Tracy, but you got the situation under control, talk to you in the morning, Bye James disconnected and went back to bed.

James woke up at 07:00 dressed and went to the cafeteria to meet Thresica for breakfast,
As he walked in he spotted her sitting with Lana and Olivia, walked up to the table and sit down, Morning ladies, sorry I’m late but we had some excitement last night, our station in CBSW was attacked, no major damage to the Station, and one LT damaged, Tracy and Mike jumped in and took out the attackers. 15 Fighters were captured 18 of the pilots were captured 2 were killed, Mike will be giving me an update this morning.

Amy arrived and took breakfast orders then pored James a cup of coffee.

Thresica: I’ll check with AP to see if they want the pilots, and file the engagement report.

James: Let Mike handle it, he has all the information and can transport the pilots to AP if they want them.

Thresica: ok.

James: I want to look at setting up our patrols, but I think the reaction force should stay here in PC, and maybe one in Aladna Hill, I think that will give us time to jump were they are needed.

Olivia: that makes me fill safer knowing that I have a defense force near by.

James: there is a lot of protection in Aladna Hill, the quick reaction force will have to jump to where they are needed, I just have to look at the maps and assign areas they need to protect. I am thinking of ordering another attack group so we have a back up in each sector, and use the #2 back-up groups to go after pirate sectors with.

Amy arrived with the orders and passed them out then refilled the coffee and drinks.


After breakfast James went to his ship and called Mike,

Mike: morning James, we found out that the attack last night was from a pirate base located in Priests Pity
They were trying to get the station back. Most of them are wanted by the police one had to be identified by dna search he has a large bounty on him, AP is sending a ship to pick them up.

James: good job we don’t work in Paranoid sectors, yet but we may pay them a return visit some day,

Mike: that’s fine with me but we may need more security here for a while,

James: see what you can set up then come back we have to go to KE tomorrow, we need to talk about more patrol groups to secure our bases.

Mike: ok see you this evening, and closed the communications.

James then called Jeff

Jeff: morning, wats up,

James: come to my ship we need to talk.

Jeff: on my way. And closed the communications

James looked over his finances and the station reports, while waiting for Jeff.

Jeff entered the ship and sat down, what do we need to talk about?

James relayed what Mike had told him, and said we need to decide weather we need more patrol groups or do we set up a patrol to secure the stations to the south east,

Jeff considered the map then : I think we could use more patrols, I hope we get to take out some of these pirates, I’ve looked at some sectors and I think we could expand our presents, we are doing very good here
And I see room for us to expand out toward Nathan’s Keep,

James: I guess we could but lets clean up this area before we move toward xenon areas.

Jeff: we can handle them, I was thinking of taking sector 101 from them and make it our main sector.

James I see were you are going if we took that sector we could cause the pirates in Mercenary’s Revenge and LooManck-Strate’s Legacy to stop supplying the pirates here.

Jeff: don’t you think it would help?

James: yes if they weren’t using Teladi and Paranid sectors. Lets stay on this side of 101 for now.

Jeff: ok but think about it ok.

James I will, Lets take a trip to AP, I need to get away for a while,

Jeff: good ideal, Lets go, let me fire up my ship and I’ll follow you.

James: ok, call me when you are ready.

Jeff left and went to his ship,

James put on his flight suit and climbed in to his seat and ran thru the systems, when he was satisfied that all was ready he called Jeff,

Jeff: ready when you are,

James: undocking now

James ship rose from the landing bay and turned toward the exit: Jake go to the south gate,

Jake: roger

James watched as they approached the gate, Jeff was to his left wing man position,

Jake: entering gate,

James felt the sensations as the ship entered the swirling gate entrance,

It took James a sezura to gain his senses then heard a request for help, he looked at the scanner and saw two pirates attacking a freighter its shields were dropping, Jeff take the target on the left, James marked the tgts and set an intercept course to the one on the right and marked it tgt 1, then engaged his thrusters, his ship lurched forward as his thrusters kicked in,

Jake; intercept in 10 sezura’s 9,8,7,6,5, tgt in firing range,

James sent two missiles toward the tgt, the pirate broke off his attack on the freighter and turned to evade the incoming missiles, one missed but the other one struck and his shields took a dive toward 30%, James opened up with his main guns as the pirate tried to get away, the falcon was too slow and the guns took his shields down to 5% as his ship ejected him his shields were gone and the hull had taken 20 % damage before James could release the trigger, and turned to pick up the pilot, Jake; scan the ship eject any contraband and cap it send it to the trade station,

Jake: roger.

James scooped up the pilot and had him secured in a containment field in the cargo bay then called the freighter, Hold your course till the sector police arrive,

Freighter: thank you sir I’m Frank Jones an independent trader, I was worried that they were going to get me.

James: Frank I’m James Hawk with Hawk security, do you need any assistance to the trading station, the sector will want a copy of your engagement reports,

Frank: no I can make it to the station, thank you for getting them off me.

James saw that Jeff had made short work of the other pirate and called him : Jeff good job did you take and damage?

Jeff: no and sector security has been notified and will have some waiting on the dock to take the pilots, I got the pilot secured and the ship is headed to the trade center.

James: I have the freighter headed to the trading station lets follow him in,

Jeff: roger

James set course to match the freighter and followed him to the trade station, Jake prepare a copy of the engagement report for the police,

Jake: done, ready to send,

James: send it.

Jake: sent, receipt received.

James docked with the trading station and exited his ship, there were two policemen waiting,

James: I have a prisoner for you, and one on my wingman’s ship.

James: Hello I’m James Hawk, Hawks Security

Lt Johnson: I know of you sir, if you will open the cargo bay Sgt Sapien will get the captive you have

James opened the cargo hold and followed the Sgt Sapien in and released the security field around the pilot,

Sgt Sapien took the Pilots weapons and secured him with restraint cuffs, then led him out of the cargo bay

Jeff had brought the other pilot over to Lt Johnson who restrained him,

Lt Johnson: Mr Hawk will you follow us to the station and sign an engagement report and we provide you with a release form,

James: sure, lead the way, Jeff check with the freighter pilot, give him our card he may want to use our services.

James followed the police to the station, he was greeted by the police commander Cpt Richard Williams


Cpt Williams: its good to meet you Mr Hawk If you will join me in my office I’ll get the reports for you,

James: my pleasure sir,

James went into his office and took the offered set,

Cpt Williams: we been after these two there ship registries match the two that attack one of my patrols and killed a policeman and three other pilots, I thank you for capturing them,

James: I’m glade to get any pirate out of action, especially ones who kill others,

Cpt Williams: I will request the rewards for you and any bounties, were do you want them sent?

James handed over his card, just contact my office they will give you any information you need.

Cpt Williams: I reviewed your engagement report, you made it look easy,

James: we caught them distracted and swopped in on them before they realized they were in danger, and we have better fighters.

There was a knock on the door, Cpt Williams: enter

James scanned the message it was from Commander Danna, : I need to go to AP and meet Commander Danna, are we done here?

Cpt Williams: yes, and again thank you,

James: no thanks needed it was my pleasure, James left the office and made his way back to the docking bay, Jeff was there talking to one of the mechanics, stopped and turned to James, I think we need to have these ships picked up there in bad shape and need a lot of repairs,

James: ok, call the Phoenix 1 to pick them up, we need to get to AP Benn wants to talk to me.

Jeff: ok, he then turned to the mechanic well send a ship to pick them up, thank you for your offer, and turned and walked toward his ship,

Mechanic: the sector police have paid for 1 Tazura docking fee after that the ships will be held for additional fees,

Jeff: that fine thank you.

James shook is head and then entered his ship, Jake lets go to AP,

Jake: roger, hatch secured, undocking,

James: as soon as we are away from the station jump to AP,

Jake: roger, departing station, linking up with Hawk 2,

Jake: jumping is 5,4,3,2,1, Jumping, entering sector AP, course laid in for Argon 1,

James left the ship and was greeted by Bens assistant,

Lt Stewart: Mr Hawk if you will follow me Commander Danna is waiting,

James: can Mr Collins come with us?

James: lead the way, James waved for Jeff to follow, as they entered Ben’s office he stood,

Ben: good to see you James, Jeff Have a seat,

James sat down,

Ben: I have the payment for another Carrier, and could you get me 20 fighters to go with it, and let me know how much more it will cost, give me your account card and I will transfer the funds,

James handed over his bank card,

Ben scanned the card and transferred 140,986,773 Cr. And handed the card back to James,

James looked at the amount transferred I think that should cover the cost,

Ben: good I am trying to get the funds for two more but the congressmen are tight with the funds, it may be a Jazura before they give any more, will you pick up the ship soon?

James: I’ll let you know in a Tazura,

Ben: good, I see you were busy this morning,

James: yes we helped out a freighter that was being attacked by some pirates, captured them and turned them over to the Police,

Ben: yes I saw the report, you done good, I have a meeting to go to Lt Stewart will escort you back to the docking bay, hope to hear from you soon, Bye and Ben opened the door Lt Stewart was waiting,

Lt Stewart: follow me please,

James shook Bens Hand: I’ll call you tomorrow,

Jeff followed James out of the office and back to the docking bay, they entered there ships,

James: Jake lets go to Home of light,

Jake: roger hatch closed, requesting undocking permission, undocking,

As soon as they were in space James called Jeff

Jeff: ok, where we going?

James: HOL.

Jeff: lead on.

James’ ship headed toward the south gate when he was with in 10 Km of the gate he could see the gate start to whirl as a ship exited it, he watched as the ship showed up red on his scanner, Jeff was already maneuvering to a firing position when another ship exited then a third, before any more could exited the gate James called for them to surrender or be fired on,

1st Ship replied: bring it on sucker.

James fired two missiles at the ship and opened up with his guns, the ship tried to dodge the missiles but flew right into the line of fire from the guns,

Jeff had moved to where he could fire on the ships entering the sector and hit one with a missile and his guns before he could turn away from the oncoming fire the third ship accelerated out of the gate and fired a missile blind that struck the ship in front of him, by now there were five ships trying to get a bead on Jeff and James the second ships shields were down to 20% and he was trying to get away from Jeff fire, when his ship ejected him, and he was drifting away from the gate,


James: stayed on his target and wore down his shields, when Jake announced that there was a incoming missile.
James looked at the scanner saw the incoming, but kept his guns on the tgt he had dropped its shields down to 25% and they were still dropping and the tgt jerked left then up down then the pilot was ejected when the shields hit 5% and James jerked his ship to the left and down, the rear turret opened up on the missile and it exploded, them James saw that one of the pirates was closing on him, he hit the thruster and his ship shot forwarded then he swing it around to the left and lined up his gun reticule on the approaching ship and pulled the trigger and watched the beams hit the ship dead on then released a missile, the ship jerked to the left but James reacquired him and keep the beams on tgt it shields were down to 50 % when the missile hit and took them all the way down and the pilot was ejected as the ship turned and dropped away, James looked at the scanner saw 5 red dots and a green one following a red one off to his left 9 ks out the others were stopped, : Jake scan and capture the ships eject and destroy any contra band.

Jake: roger, Incoming message from Argon security,

James: let it thru, Hawk1 this is Argon Police do you need assistance,

James: You could pick up these pilots and secure them,

Cpl Hennis: Roger, moving to pick up the pilots, will you send me your engagement report,

James: roger sending now. And James hit the log transmit button,

Jake: 4 ships captured and heading to the equipment dock,

James: set course to Hawk 2,

Jake: roger, set, engaging

Jeff: James were do you want me to send this nova I capped?

James: send it to the equipment dock, then send a message to the phoenix 1 to pick them up.

James: Cpl Hennis there another pilot over here for you,

Cpl Hennis: I’ve sent my wingman to pick him up, I recived your engagement report can I get the one from wingman also?

Cpl Hennis: roger, got it, Thank you, I’ll send them in to the station, thank you for your co-operation, you will be notified of our findings,

James: thank you, we will be in HOL if you need us,

Cpl Hennis: ok but the report indicated that these were pirates, and that you are entitled to the rewards for them, some one will contact you.

James: Roger. Jeff ready to go,

James turned toward the gate and accelerated to it and entered,

James looked at his scanner and saw 8 Hawk fighters and 1 badly damaged freighter, opened is comms : this is hawk one what’s up,

Jeannie Boswell: Mr Hawk this is Jeannie Boswell Tm 1 Ldr, we were flying to assist this freighter, but the pirates took off and flew thru the gate.

James: 4 falcons and a nova?

Jeannie Boswell: yes, did you see them?

James: yes they are in the custody of Argon Police,

Jeannie Boswell: good, they about destroyed this freighter we are escorting him back to our stations for repairs.

James: ok, I’ll see you on the station.

James and Jeff flew on to the station and landed,

They were met by the stations Security officer (Quinton Everett Mitchell )

Quinton: Good to meet you Mr Hawk

James: Quinton same here I try to meet all of my people but its getting harder as we increase.

Quinton: I know what you mean I still haven’t met all of the personnel assigned to the wheat farm, How can I help you?

James: I want to talk to the team leader Jeannie Boswell when she lands.

Quinton: She should be landing shortly the ship she is escorting in is 90 Km’s out.

James: we’ll wait.

Quinton: ok, call if you need me.

James: ok

James: Jeff did you get a scan on that freighter?

Jeff: yes, he’s carrying computer parts and crystals.

James: ok I didn’t scan him since he was being escorted by our people.

Jeff: you are too trusting I scan every one.

James: ok lets see what he has to say when he docks and try to find out why the pirates targeted him.

Jeff: ok, you want me to talk to him while you talk to the team Ldr?

James: sounds like a plan, ok and see if he’s interested in hiring our services.

Susan walked on to the docking bay and up to Jeff,

Susan: I heard that two hawk fighters landed,

Jeff yes we were making rounds when we ran into some pirates then found out that they had tangled with the security patrol here, we waiting to talk to the team leader then I was going to come and see you.

Susan: you better I haven’t heard from you in over a Wozura.

Jeff: I’ve been purity busy, I’ll fill you in later,

Susan: ok, see you shortly. And left.

James: I guess you need to call her Tazuraly.

The freighter and 1 Hawk fighter landed.

Jeff headed to the freighter, and James went to greet Jeannie

James: tell me about the freighter engagement,

Jeannie: we were patrolling 70Ks out from the station when we got a distress signal, I had my flight head to the location were the signal came from, when we sot within scanner range the pirates spotted us and ran for the gate, I took some fighters after them while my wingman checked on the freighter, we got a few shot at them before they entered the gate, I then went back to the freighter and got a report from my wingman, and asked the freighter if we could escort it back here for repairs, the Pilot Sam Carson was happy to have the escort and we followed him in. I think that is the same group of pirates that have been attacking ships in Red light and Ringo moon.

James: thank you

Jeannie: no problem I need to file my report and get back on patrol, Bye

James waited for Jeff then they headed to Susan’s office, and Jeff filled James in on what he learned.

Jeff: Sam Carson told me that he came in from Red Light and was going to AP to sell his load of computer parts and crystals when the pirates jumped in behind him, he tried to run and called for help, but the pirates caught him and opened fire he said he would drop the goods if they would let him go, he said they wanted his ship too, that’s when the patrol showed up on the scanner and warned the pirates off he said the fled to the gate to AP. I told him that they were captured and taken in to custody by Argon Police. Told him to have the damage repaired, and to call us if he needed escorts, I gave him our card. He thanked me and went to find a mechanic. He is just starting out and is low on funds said he used all he has been able to scrape up to buy the load he has and is glad he didn’t lose it.

James: ok go ahead I want to talk to the JAG and see what he knows about these raids.

Jeff: ok, call me when your ready to leave.

James headed to the flight operations office. And looked for John McMahon the CAG.

James entered to flight operations office and was greeted by Sam Heisman

Sam : Hi James can I help you?

James: I was looking for John.

Sam: He flew to ore belt to check on some parts for the station.

James: Ok, maybe you can help. I want to know about the pirate activity in Red Light, and Ringo Moon.

Sam: well we have had several transports attacked, but the escorts have fended them off, and I have had no more reports from our pilots for the last Wozura. But I have heard that there were attacks on other ships going on but when our fighters vector them the pirates flee to other sectors. We have not been able to identify the group or groups.

James: ok please keep me advised of the actions I want to find out who is conducting these attacks.

Sam: ok and Ill tell John and our pilots to try to identify them or get ship registrations.

James: that will be fine. If we make any captures I want them sent to the HQ in PC.

Sam: will do.

James left the office and headed to the docking area. And called Jeff,.

Jeff: James I’m on my way to my ship

James: ok I want to head to Ore belt, we’ll depart as soon as you are ready

James enter his ship, Jake prep to depart

James strapped in and put his helmet on checked the status screens and weapons load out,

Jeff: James I’m ready, lead on.

James: roger, Jake undock and head to the south gate.

Jake: undocking departing station, course set, departing trade lanes, engaging engines,

James watched the screens and the traffic leaving and headed to the gate. James entered the gate and exited in Ore Belt, checked the sector scanner and saw the security patrol, that was headed toward the station,
James followed then and docked.

When James exited his ship he was greeted by Samantha Hester Asst Flight Operation Officer.

Samantha: What brings you to Ore belt James

James: checking on some pirate trouble, Have there been any action here?

Samantha: just the attack this morning. I think they got a shock when the Carrier and Frigate Jumped in.

James: good I hope they stay that way.

Samantha: It should, I think the pirates should know by now that when they tangle with us they lose.

James: I guess, But I think there building up for a major attack.

Samantha: that would be foolish of them, and I heard that you are getting more Frigates?

James: Yes, about six frigates with a lot of fire power, good shielding, and speed.

Samantha: that’s good, do they carry fighters?

James: Yes, they can carry 4 fighters and have an external docking port for a transport.

Samantha: are you going to have some of them docking here?

James: I will have a battle group in this sector, But it will be responsible for the surrounding sectors too.

Samantha: good, that will put a damper on the pirates coming in from the Paranid or Pirate sectors.

James: I hope so,

Jeff walked up: Hi Samantha,

Samantha: Hi Jeff, you keeping James safe.

Jeff: I try.

James: Samantha send me engagement reports, and inform Mathew of what we talked about ok.

Samantha: roger, how long before the battle group arrives?

James: within the next Mazura.

Samantha: you two have a safe trip back to PC ok.

James: ok

James entered his ship, Jake prepare to undock.

Jake: Roger, powering up

Jeff: Lead on James,

James: Lets go to PC,

Jake: undocking, exiting station ,

James: at 1830 we are expected for dinner at 1900, Im going to change first see you in the lounge,

Jeff: Roger.

James ship docked then James headed for the lift, road it up to his suite, took a quick shower and changed into casual clothing, and headed back down to the lounge, When James entered the private dinning room He saw Mike, Sam, Thresica, and Anjanette sitting at there reserved table, James walked over greeted every one and sat down, Pored him self an Ice Tea from the picture and asked Mike about the events in Ore Belt.

Mike: the damage one LT and Station took has been repaired, and the trading station is deploying two more LT’s
We brought the captured ships back with us and the pilots are being questioned by our people, from what were getting they were operating out of Priest Pity and Split Fire, The Phoenix 3 took no damage and Tracy handled the situation fine I just watched till Tracy told me to inform you of the situation. The Condor just hung back, I was watching the action. I did not have to deploy any fighters.

James: good

The waiter asked James for his order.

James: Stake medium well, stake fries, salad with Ranch Dressing.

Jeff sat down, Mike did you have fun this morning?

Mike: it was interesting to see the Phoenix in action, and Tracy didn’t leave any for Me. The Pirates didn’t have any capital ships with them. But I was ready to assist if needed.

James: so our deployment of the Condors with the Phoenix will work for us.

Mike: till the pirates get more capital ships. Or the Yaki come to our sectors.

James nods: I guess your right, Tomorrow I’ll check our accounts, and we can discuss were we want to concentrate our attention on.

James’ meal arrived and he ate, thinking of how his life has changed in the last Jazura.

Thresica: James what are you think about, I get worried when you get that expression.

James: just thinking of how my life has changed in the last Jazura,

Thresica: you had me worried, I thought you were thinking of opening new stations. and I haven’t filled the positions we have open.

James: no problem, I’ll give you a Mazura, before I open any new stations.

Thresica: Thank you for the warning, my new assistant will be here tomorrow and I put her right on it,

James: and tell her to get some stand by personnel just in case.

Thresica: I will especially ship personnel; they can train and stay on the ships till positions open.

James: good ideal then we will have a pool to pull from; Tracy and Chris will like that.

Thresica: I got moved in to my suite, but it’s too big for just me, can I share it with my assistant?

James: if that is what you want.

Thresica: I think so for now. See you tomorrow. Thresica got up.

James: I’ll be down about 6:30 for breakfast, and I want to look at the accounts in the morning.

Thresica: I would too I don’t think the Bounties and rewords were posted today.

James: ok have breakfast with me then we can review the accounts together.

Thresica smiled: ok, see you then, and walked away.

James finished his meal, then retired for the day.
