Well, whoever gets a freight scanner and finds a ship heaving about PPCs first may well win this one

Damn bounty hunters
I sold HPT and bought IRE.Now I must try and find that
 |
| Buster Sentinel in Akeelas Beacon. |
|
Sell both ships and I should have 5,000,000cr.
If I can get rid of those bounty hunters I will give up
{Spoilerised the free ship info. - eladan.}

Out of curiosity, is it the quickest in-game time, or the quickest real-time?
If it is real-time, then that would not be fair to all folks..
If it is in-game time, then folks could just reload after their first fight, and do it over and over until they get a ship to bail, sell it, etc. etc.

It is the quickest in-game time, so you can reload as many times as you want. Nobody can detect, that you had reloaded your game.
P.S.
I saw similar answer of moderator of this forum on same question.
In the real time you just limited by "Deadline: 06/07/2009 - 23:59 BST".

Considering everyone can do it, it's still a fair competition, isn't it?

Thumbs up to you, Egosoft! Good to see that there is another round.
The ability to save and load games makes game knowledge and strategy more important and reduces the importance of luck (although you will probably still need some luck to win the competition).
I'd say that is a good thing for a competition like this.

Another contest eh? Interesting again, but why not have an X3:R one?

The only conditions of entry are the ones contained in the OP. If you don't see any restrictions based on geography, then you can assume that where you live doesn't matter.
In short, it's for anyone.

From a business perspective, having a comp for a recent release can generate interest in that release, and boost sales. That's not likely to happen for an older release such as Reunion - at this stage, most of the people who are likely to buy it already have.
That's not to say that there won't ever be a Reunion comp - Egosoft don't always go the pure business route - but it might explain why it's not a priority right at this moment.

These comps are a great idea. As a player that ends up playing the same start for ages, it was refreashing just to startover and set a quick goal. Very good idea. Give me a chance to figure some personal DID rules.
Also I am using the save game manager (havent asked for permission to add thread, search xuniverse forum easy found)
Hugh ThanKYOU to Mr badger!
This is a must, highly recommend it. A very good program thats gonna become invaluble to me now.
