First of a bit about about me. I love to draw! been drawing my whole life. I love to play games as well. And the best combination for my imagination is finding a really awesome game and making fan art of it. I noticed a saddening lack of X3 fanart so I hope to fill the gap and motivate more people to make some art. Now im not the best artist heh especially with ships and X3, I just started drawing trying to draw the ships. I draw anime alot more than things like ships but I plan on continuing to practice so I can make some really good fanart for such an amazing (and my new obession) game as X3 ^^.

First of some nice screenshot editing cause I love photoshop.

My motivation for this type of effect edit came from the new Star Trek movie poster:

This is just an attempt to enhance and make the original (and dark and dull) screenshot more attracting and interesting to the eyes. I think i did ok. heres the original if you want to compare the changes: http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/5193/x3screen00004.png

And now 2 art drawn peices. They arnt really "polished" just some sketching I did but enough to be something Id like to post.

A Terran Sabre attacking a (from what I remember) Kha'ak Scout in Kha'ak Sector 931. (currently playing Operation Final Fury so thats my little motivation)

So I hope you enjoy these. I will be doing more cause its fun drawing the ships and stuff and I actually want to get good enough to make some really good combat scenes. From imageshack you can use thumbnail images by introducing '.th' into the image name, something like this.

As for the pictures, I feel you've overdone the whizz factor, maybe you could be more selective which parts of the image get the most treatment.

ok thanks. If youre talking about the motion blur in the 3rd picture heh yeah i did kinda go a bit overboard. But the other images with the Star Trek effect on it is supposed to be really blurred.

I like the Sabre vs Scout image - better than I could do for sure

Look forward to seeing your usual improvements in drawings as you go along (The Xenon N is good as well)

, i like the sabre vs scout with the colourful background. the sketch of the N reminded me of the Homeworld concept art in the credits, so thanks for the nostalgia

You're right, I knew the style reminded me of something - it is like the Homeworld concept art in the credits.

Yep, it's quite rare to see some fan art around here, nice to see someone interested from time to time...I've made something in the past years (not really "art", I can't draw at all), maybe you can find some inspirations here...

And by the way, where did you get that Normandy

....

Note as moderator: yes, it's a bit fussy and not a rule at all, but it may be better to keep real personal details out whenever possible

I'd disagree with it not being 'art' - it may be digital, but those images are breathtaking. 'Homecoming' is probably my favourite.

Im sorry guess i dont feel as paranoid about it but ill go ahead and remove it. and i saw your work when i did an internet search to see how many people do fan art. How did you even do those?! theyre incredible! is that like a screenshot and you have amazing skills in photoshop? XD also the Normandy is around the forum in modding section somewhere. Thanks for liking the art guys ^^ im practicing some more now before i post something else. I really like the Terran and ATF ships so im concentrating on getting better at drawing them.

sorry about the snapping, just saw personal details and detonated, I do the same if I catch someone saving files in C:\Windows.

I do think that the artwork looks nice, and I've got sisters who also do artwork, so I might show it to them at some point.

yer me too i love the terran and ATF fighter design, and the terran baldric is definatly the nicest looking TS, if u are planning to draw ATF ships perhaps u could try to draw the M7 Aeigir that is a beautiful ship design and would kick ass as fan art in ur style

Ships are from screenshots (only last one is from 3d renders), for the rest....only skill I have is how to make the simplest thing in the hardest way possible for now

Keep up your work, graphic material around here is quite rare
