[Mod]Engine Colours + particle trails[v1.21] [New images] [27/12 3.0 compatible]

New version out shortly which will include X2 engine effects on all ships, and trails on most ships, check last posts for more information and images showing off the new work.

@ Modders:: All ship scene files will be changed to add X2 trails and emitters, anyone will be able to use these scene files as a base for any mods if they want full working trails. PSD files will also be available on request.

This mod changes the colour of each races engines so they all look different. It also adds a matching particle trail to those ships that have engine effects(fighters ect).

There will be different packs containing different colors.

Pack A:

Engine colours:
Argon = ego standard
Boron = dark blue
Teladi = green
Split = red
Paranid = yellow
Xeon = ego standard
Terran = White
Pirates = Red/yellow

Particle trail colours:
Argon = Blue
Boron = dark blue
Teladi = green
Split = red
Paranid = yellow
Xeon = Light blue
Terran = Light blue
Pirates = Red/yellow

Argon = ego standard

Paranid = purple/blue
Xeon = red/yellow
Terran = White

Particle trail colours:
Argon = Blue

I like the idea, but I don't particularly agree with the colours for the races.
The way I'd do it (which is in no way meant as a complaint, just as my idea) would be:

Argon: ego standard
Boron: green (most of their ships have green stuff all over the place, it'd make sense)
Teladi: yellow (reminiscences from X-T)
Split: red/purple
Paranid: green/yellow (reminiscences from X-T)
Xenon: blue (they are heartless and emotionless machines, cold blue seems to fit better than red)
Terran and others: ego standard

Again, this is not meant as a complaint or "please remake your mod so it fits my very own idea of what's better". If I muster enough willpower to do it I'll change the colors myself, otherwise your idea is pretty good too. :)

Tships, animations and each engine file. Plus a few dds textures ive added. I will also be touching a few scene files to add more emitters.

I will be playing with the colours see what fits best. The colours are easily changed.

The colours used at the moment are the the ones from X3(ego only used blue in the end) apart from argon which were green.

sounds like a lot of work... and that is not very compatible with most other mods... too bad! :(

If I find time do do that do you mind if I merge your work in my Ship Rebalance Mod?

No problem just give me credit for my work ect ect.

Only two files have a chance of not being compatible at the moment (Tships/animations), chances are only the Tships file is used by most ship mods.

I only made 1 change in the Tship file to each ship this could easily and quickly be repeated for any other Tship files eg a ship rebalance mod.

yep. the Tships is, by far, the most incompatible file.
but if you say that's easy, I'll believe you.
