Target under boresight (x3:tc joystick question)

I'm having some issues dealing with certain basic commands with my Fighterstick brand joystick. One command that I have heard talked about, but cannot find, is target under boresight-- i want to target what im pointing at!

does this command even exist in reality? If not, what are some solutions that the other joystick flyers use? Im finding myself holding the mouse in my left hand so i can click targets, while flying with the joystick.

Using the keyboard you would press t. It takes a second or two to lock onto anything though.
