Sounds like you overwrote some vanilla files.

What is your current patch version and how did you install the mod?

I had 01.cat & 01.dat till 03
So I added both files renamed it to 04.cat and 04.dat and placed them in the root.
Started up...
Checked tubes...
They were gone, I smiled...
Checked Personal data...
Saw modified, smile vanished...
Quit the game without saving.
Delete 04.cat & 04.dat.
Started up the game.
Loaded the save.
Game shuts down to desktop with error that evey save I load is suddenly corrupt...
While I spend days on the game without a modified tag...

edit: Running 2.6
Took this out of the shelves because of the new patch ;)

You should have a lot more than 01 through 03 - 2.6 is 10.

Re-install & repatch (using 1.0->2.6, preferably).

For X³:TC 2.6 you need at least the ten vanilla-.cat/.dat's 01 to 10. Else your vanilla-installation of X³:TC 2.6 is corrupt.

I took the game out of the the shelf 2-3 days ago installed it, download the 1.0-2.6 patch.
Installed it and played it.

I dont get it.
The game worked perfectly

eeeeh????
All of a sudden I have 01 till 10 but now 04 is missing.
I think those files werent visible for some reason.
But when I copied 04's to the directory it didnt give me a message to overwrite so its REALLY strange :S
Anyway now I have to reinstall anyway because I miss 04.cat & .dat

edit: Once I reinstall is there a way to use that mod without getting a modified tag?
Since the FPS really boosts without tubes

If you're running Vista or Windows 7 then what you can see in a folder depends on your current user and on the user you used to install the game & patch (& mod) - try installing everything as admin.

Also - it's usually better to use the edit button rather than making several posts in a row.

That was probably the cause.
I'll reinstall the game now and hope my save games arent lost.
If you or anyone knows a way to get this mod to work without modified tag then please assist me

Thnx in advance

Just use 11.cat/dat - as Saetan said, the files the mod changes don't appear to be signed.

A quick test on my vanilla install doesn't give a modified tag.

your saved games aren't corrupt if you didn't overwrite them (they probably would still load...but would probably act weids i.e civilian ship not moving, complete sector becoming dead or such.) Only problem is that you deleted 04.cat/dat. that's what gave you the modified tag. Otherwise I confirm this doesn't give modified tag and that it's an essentiel mod for anyone who likes complex building :D

Works perfect now
And still after reinstall I only see 01 till 03 again but I just named the mod 11, cause I guess 04 till 10 are invisible again even though I just have one windows account and am the only user.
Pretty strange ow well it works now :D
Any other mods out there that doesnt give me the ***modified***?

Well as far as I know, im not a scripter at all, but yes u'll be modified. That's about the only one I heard that doesn't affect signature. Maybe cause this has no impact on anything else. It's basically only graphic.

There are quite some mods, which don't cause a modified. That should be any mod, which doesn't change any of the files listed in the x3files.xml-file, placed inside the x³:tc main-directory. Like any model- and scene-files which aren't signed.

For example resized aldrin rock, my terraformer-/xenon-hub bugfix and my larger complex hub. Especially the last one isn't just graphical but can change the game-experience.

There is somewhere a topic with some listed non-modified mods, but I didn't find it in a quick search.

Anyway, its not the right place to discuss that in general inside this topic.

Best regards,
Saetan

Does the tubeless version means that not only it won't load the texture, but also will skip the model, and (here's my doubt) there WON'T be collisions with them?

Thanks for the answer ^^.

With the tubeless version, there won't be any collisions, yeah.
