EGOSOFT and the forums' crew wish you Happy Easter! Smile

As every year, we put the Easter Bunny into a space suit, stored some insider information in his cargobay and abandoned him somewhere in the forums to hide this information. This year there is further information about 2.1, and according to some rumours it could contain a new mission developed by community members. We were able to convince Ketraar to design a couple of astonishing wallpapers to give you a glance what you might expect for the update 2.1.

Friendly as the Easter bunny (one of his aliases is Carlo the Curious, I heard) is, he has left us a few hints. However, he enciphered them. If you can decode them, you might find something really surprising. Wink

1: Even the most venerable warrior sometimes needs the advice from other comrades. Don't be afraid of listening to their hints, and be brave enough to look down into the abyss' heart.

2: Search the wide Universe Hex quadrant 6B3. You shall see the one referring to a game with Kings, Knights and Pawns.

3: The easter bunny told me, that these last words from the Boron Bala Gi in addition with those strange bunch of numbers and the great emptiness of space could help you to find an easter egg.
Code:
I just bought a load of spaceweed from a teladi dealer. This peace is just fantastic, I can't imagine how I lived without it in the past. It just feels like being in heaven... Oh, what a nice fluffy asteroid, it looks like it wants to hug me.

167 -48 -89 +4 +8 +135 -1 +31 /207 +24 +2 -19 +9 +15 +2 +42 -0 +131 +24 +5 -2 -119

4: Some say an easter egg search is like a small treasure hunt. True enough, both may have their rewards if you look in the right part of the universe.

5: And finally, he told me that this log entry also could help you...

And now, have fun with the Easter Egg hunt and Happy Easter! Smile
Your Easter...err Ogerboss

EDIT:
Ok, I think you had enough time to look for the easter eggs. Wink For all those, who didn't find them all, here are the solutions for the riddles.

1: The warrior is a X-veteran and the collected advices from his comrades are the collected guides and tutorials stickied here.

2: The hexadecimal number was the forum page (X-universe) and the rest of the hint a reference to the topic title "chess".

3: This was a count all characters (including spaces, dots etc) quest. The bunch of numbers told you which of them were interesting. The result was the topic title.

4: Here you had to find the words "treasure", "hunt" and "rewards" as the key words, giving you the topic title and then you had to look for a table listing those rewards.

5: The Keyword was "no cockpits" and the fact that he was in the XU for a long time, therefore leading you to the cockpits-thread for X3:R, to page 51 (see flight log note in the quote header). And the hint with the Godfather means that you had to look for a post from Bernd.

A hunt eh? Well, easter should be about bringing us together, so I'm willing to help out. Here's my analysis of the post.

Spoiler
Quote:
1: Even the most venerable warrior(Split Warrior?) sometimes needs the advice from other comrades. Don't be afraid of listening to their hints(troubleshooting area?), and be brave enough to look down into the abyss' (Thyn's Abyss? Split Sector) heart.(What about the Member here, The_Abyss?)

2: Search the wide Universe Hex quadrant 6B1(Hexidecimal=1713. Sector at 17,13 is Sancity of Corruption, Teladi sector). You shall see the one reffering to a game with Kings, Knights and Pawns (Boron?).

3: The easter bunny told me, that these last words from the Boron Bala Gi in addition with those strange bunch of numbers and the great emptiness of space could help you to find an easter egg.

Using the operands in order (not using Order of Operations): 115 (01, 15 = Empty Coordinate)

4: Some say an easter egg search is like a small treasure hunt(Treasure Chest (14, 06)?). True enough, both may have their rewards if you look in the right part of the universe.

5: And finally he told me, that this logentry also could help you...

One day, long after I first entered the X-Universe, I encountered many new ships(Xenon? Kha'ak? Or just lack of cockpits in general?). But to my surprise, they didn't have cockpits, and even after searching for an age there was still no sign (billboard?) of them. But, finally, a vision(Duke's Vision? Coordinate: 1,9 Paranid) from the godfather(Godfather = ?(Duke? Yaki maybe?) enlightened me.

Nice try, but mostly along the wrong track. Smile

Can I ask that anyone who does find these not spoil the fun for everyone else please. That probably extends to keeping speculations spoilerised as well.

Just to make it clear again: Every hint leads you to a specific topic in the english forums (every hint is independent from the other ones). Wink So think about, which topics could be meant, at least some of them should be well-known to you, other ones could be from the crypt. Mr. Green

And have a nice hunting. Wink

I think that's just a translation artifact - you actually heard I ate the Easter Bunny. And very tasty he was too!

(and no, that's not a clue).

I imagine so. iirc, last year all the eggs were posted in the OP once the search was over.

I found 4, and 5.

Spoiler

1. I think 1 might be something to do with the NUKLEAR SLUG stories?

2. I tried typing the 6B1 hexidecimal (1713) into the topic= part at the top, but no luck
ETA: IT CHANGED TO 6B2! WTF?

3. Not a clue where to start!
