James awoke to the sound of Claxton, as he jumped from his bed and slipped on his flight suit and stepped into his shoes he made it to the com center and pushed the button for the commander,

Glenda Ballard the acting XO answered: yes Sir

James: wats up

Glenda: we have three sets of 5 fighters entering the sector, they have been identified as pirates, Commander Eastman told me to call you.

James: Thank you Ill be in my ship in 10 Sezuras, Call Jeff Collins, inform him of the situation and tell him to meet me in the docking bay. James turned off the comms, and headed for his room grabbed a flight suit and socks from the closet and headed to the bathroom, On his way back thru the bed room, James put on his boots then grabbed his flight bag headed to the landing dock, he saw Jeff entering his ship and there were other pilots loading there ships and some departing,

James: Jake battle stations,

Jake: roger hatch secured, screen on

James strapped in and looked at the screens there were three groups of red ships and two groups of green moving to intercept the pirates, and a third group of green ships taking up positions between the pirates and the ship,: Jeff lets launch and prepare to support or defend the carrier.

Jeff: roger lifting off

James followed Jeff out and took up a position on his right rear. Watching the screens James saw that one group had made contact, and the other was closing on the other group the third group of pirates were bypassing the battle and headed toward the carrier James marked the group : Jeff lets intercept them and keep them busy while the CAP clean up.

Jeff: roger and engaged his thrusters, James maintained his position and they closed on the enemy,

Jake: target entering firing range,

James; selected two tgts and fired missiles at them as they tried to evade he opened up with his main guns and turrets as he flew past them one of the pilots ejected the other tried to evade as Jake kept the turrets on him his shields dropped to 7% and he ejected James selected two more tgts and fired two missiles at each of them and Jake fired the main guns at at the weaker one and his shields dropped and the pilot ejected, as Jake switched tgts James felt his ship rock and noticed that his shields had dropped to 75% but were climbing back up toward 80% as the second ship was targeted, he spotted some fighters coming from the carrier and continued to engage the tgt, James moved to the left to evade a missile as the turrets shot it down his tgts shields were at 20% and dropping, he maintained the rate of fire till the shields dropped to 12% then reduced the rate by 50% as the shield hit 10% the pilot was ejected and James searched for more tgts.

Jake: tgt captured. Scanned

James saw that 4 of the five tgts had been captured and the fifth one was damaged badly
He then looked at the group further out and noted that there were no more enemy present,

James: Jeff how you doing?

Jeff: Good

Jake: incoming message,

James: let it thru, then James heard Andy Kramer Tm 3 Ldr, Good shooting Mr Hawk I have a ship designated to pick up the pilots the Captured ships are headed to the carrier, do you need any assistance,

James: No assistance required, were heading back to the carrier,

Andy: roger

James and Jeff headed back to the carrier and landed.

Tracy was there to meet them with coffee and rolls,

James: thank you I need this as he took the coffee

Tracy: lets go to the briefing room and she turned and headed to the briefing room,

Jeff grabbed a coffee and two rolls and followed, James picked up a roll and followed them,

In the briefing room was a cart with more coffee and juice and a verity of pastries and donuts,

Jeff helped him self as James took a seat when Jeff sat down Tracy said I think that was our welcome party, and they got a surprise, But I did not deploy all of my flight groups
Only 3 of the 6, if they were trying to determine my strength they will be surprised if they try that again.

James: can you show me my engagements it was a little harry out there and I think one of them got a few shots at me.

Tracy: Ok give me a Sezuras.

James: got some more coffee and a pastry then sat back down,

Tracy: ready here goes and the engagement showed up on the screen,

James watched as he and Jeff approached the group of pirates, and launched there missiles, then engage the tgts, he saw the fifth one turn and maneuver to the rear of him and jeff as there first tgts were disabled then it launched 6 missiles at them 4 of which were headed toward James’ ship two were engaged and destroyed but two got thru and hit his shields, the screen showed the drop in power and the ship tried to maneuver but was hit by three missiles fired by Andy’ flight group and the ship was disabled,

James: I thought I had been hit by 1 missile,

Jeff: it looks like he thought you were my wing man and inexperienced, guess that mistake cost him big time.

James: and Jake got two of the missiles, or I’d probably be in bad shape. I owe Andy for that one.

Tracy: I told him to support you since there were no more flights coming in, and the other two were disabled.

James: Thank you,

Tracy: no thank you. you two were doing the job that ten fighter were suppose to do.
and I don’t think the fifth one would have been able to hold both of you off.

James: ok lets get some breakfast before I fill up on these sweets,

Tracy: stake and eggs on me, lets go, a table is ready for us,

James, do you think the pirates will try any thing else?

Tracy: I have two flights on stand by and 1 out on patrol, let em try I can have 5 flights out in under 5 Mizuras. But I think we may need a destroyer or two someday.

James good point,

Tracy: the captives will be interrogated and we‘ll find out what they were up to.

Tracy opened the door and waved them out, and followed then to the mess hall.

As they sat down, James: I don’t remember any sector police in sector!

Tracy: that’s because there were none, Chris had been hit several times and sector police did not launch, or offer assistance.

James: I’ll contact Ben and find out what there capture record looks like. And maybe light a fire under them.

Tracy: I’d rather they stay out of my way.

Jeff: remember HOL when SP were being paid not to engage the pirates.

James: yes. Well see if that is the case here.

Lonnie: let me pore you some coffee, your breakfast will be ready shortly, and he proceeded to pore three cups of coffee and offered juice, then left

James sipped on his coffee thinking of how he would ask Ben to look into the Aladna Hill Sector Police to determine there worth,

True to his word Lonnie returned with a cart and there breakfast. Lonnie set a plate with stake and eggs, hash browns and a tray of toast, biscuits’ and rolls’ and servings of jellies and jams on it.

They had just started to serve them self’s when Bernice Norman tm 1 ldr, Judy Hawkins tm 2 ldr, Andy Kramer tm 3 ldr and Elnora Vargas CAG arrived and sat down with them,

Lonnie pored coffee for them and left to get there breakfast,

Elnora: we found out that the attack this morning was to be supported by a carrier and destroyer but somehow the capital ships did not make the jump,

Tracy: did you find out why the ships didn’t make the jump?

Elnora: not yet, but the pirates don’t want us here,

James: I guess not we are hampering there attacks and interfering with there recruiting process. Let focus on finding there base. Then we can pay them a visit.

Lonnie returned with there breakfast and passed them out, then left.

Elnora: I’ll make sure that Leonard makes that a priority.


Ask the group finished there breakfast and departed the mess hall,

James: Tracy I’ll be in my ship if you need me, he then headed to the landing dock, and entered his ship: Jake get me a secure line to commander Danna,

Jake: roger

James went in to the cabin area and closed the door, 10 Mizuras later Jake informed James that he had Commander Danna online, James ok, Ben I hate to bother you this early but I have some questions that I need answers for,

Ben: James it is always good to hear from you, what can I do for you?

James: I need to know if the sector police in Aladna Hill are trustworthy, and how many pirates have they arrested lately,

Ben: Ill check and get back with you, ok

James: Ill be waiting for your call. And disconnected, James laid down on the bunk, he was awoken by Jake telling him that he had an incoming call, James got up and sat down at the desk, Hello

James: its Ben I got the information for you, the SP have made no captures since the New chief took over 6 mazuras, ago they have made some arrest on station, but they were mostly disturbances, and there have been no incidence reports filed, I hope this helps you I will be looking in to this more closely, thank you for bringing it to my attention,

James: I was wondering why there were no SP presence while my ships were engaging the Pirates.

Ben: Thanks keep me advised, and Ill keep checking. Ben disconnects.

James sat there thinking about the situation with the sector police and how was he going to expose them. He left the ship and went to the bridge, and found Tracy

James: Tracy have we found anything new from the pilots we captured,

Tracy: a little lets go into the briefing room and I’ll fill you in. they left the bridge and entered the briefing room Tracy secured the room and took a seat,

James sat down next to her, :what have we got?

Tracy: we found out that the pirates are building up forces to strike us, they have two pirate Carracks and twenty fighters, with the 15 that we took out this morning that would have been a formable force, I have been thinking that we need to brief our forces on the stations, in case they decide to strike,

James: good idea and contact the Phoenix 1 to jump in and take the captives to AP, let me call Jeff, James touched his communication: Jeff come to the briefing room,

Jeff: roger

Tracy called her security chief and CAG to come to the briefing room, them told her communications officer to contact the Phoenix 1 and let her know when Randle was online. And to call the stations and have the Security chiefs and CAG’s set up a secure conference, then turned back to James we’ll be set up soon.

James: ok and he opened the door, Jeff, Leonard, and Elnora walked in and James secured the door as the group sat down,

Tracy: I have briefed James on the information that we got from the captured pilots, we have decide to inform the stations of the threat and come up with a plan to engage them should they strike, the captives will be sent to AP, Tracy’s comms buzzed and she answered it: ok put him thru, the main screen lit up with Randle sitting in his command chair,

Randle: wats up

Tracy: I need you to jump to AH and take my prisoners to AP,

Randle: ok, how many do you have?

Tracy: 21,

Randle looked up in surprise 21 you’ve been busy,

Tracy: yes we captured 6 yesterday and 15 this morning during a raid to take us out,

Randle: I can be there in 2 Stazuras, any thing else,

Tracy: can you take the 21 fighters back to HQ with you?

Randle: I’ll make room for them, see you in 2 Stazuras. And disconnects

James: the pilots have done well if we keep taking the pirate ships and selling them we should be able to give our pilots a raise,

Jeff: that would be an incentive for them to cap more ships,

James: well see, any way we need to figure out how to take this pirate fleet out and get the goods on the SP, so commander Danna can get them replaced with some real law enforcers.

Jeff: what kind of fleet are we looking at?

Tracy: two pirate Carracks and twenty fighters plus what ever ships they can get before they decide to try to attack us again.

Jeff: the Carrack can carry what 15 fighters?

Tracy: we have information that these carry 20 fighters and have heavy shielding.

Jeff: could we get the Phoenix 4 to assist us?

James: we probably could but they haven’t had time to have been trained properly, I’m thinking of getting the Phoenix 1 & 2 back here for support and to use some of the stations fighters.

Tracy: I think we need more intelligence on the pirate fleet.

Jeff: where is this fleet at?

Tracy: its in Hatikvah’s Faith.

Jeff: I could jump in and try to get more information,

James: lets hold off on that for now, I want to get our forces ready, then we can send a flight thru there and gather information, I’d rather use a stealth satellite for the recon information

Tracy: I have the people from the station,

James: ok bring them on,

The main screen split to two views and the security and CAG’s showed up,

James: as you know we intercepted 15 pirate fighters this morning, what we found out is that the pirates is preparing a fleet of ships to jump in and attack us, I wanted to bring up up to speed on our plains to engage this threat, we are bringing in the Phoenix 1& 2 to assist us the Pirates have 2 Carracks and twenty fighters plus any other ships they can get
I want all of the fighters from the SM and two flights from the CF to dock on the Phoenix 2 when it arrives we will gather information on the Pirate fleet and jump into Hatikvah’s Faith and take them out before they can strike, they will be disorganized from the losses they sustained this morning and hopefully unable to take action till they get reinforcements, I’ll have a full plain this after noon, brief your crews and let them get some rest till we are ready to go,

Clark Crosby the Crystal fab Security Chief asked if any security personnel would be need?

James: no, I think we have enough onboard the Phoenix’s to handle the job,

Earline Gross Crystal Fab CAG: I’ll have my ships ready and requested that she be allowed to fly with them,

James: ok I’ll let you know when the Phoenix 2 arrives

The stations closed the connection, James opened his comms to Chris and briefed him on the mission,

Chris: ok I’ll be there in 1 Stazura. And disconnected

Jeff: I’ll check on the stealth satellites and select a team to deploy them, he and Elnora left the briefing room

James: I’m going to the docking bay I’ll let you know when were ready to go and drop off the sats,

Tracy: ok I’ll be on the bridge and they left the briefing room.

James entered the docking bay and found Jeff talking to 2 pilots and walked up to them,

James it this the deployment team,

Jeff: yes I was explaining how we were going to jump into Hatikvah’s Faith near the nebula and drop off the sats, then jump back here,

James: have you had the sats loaded yet?

Jeff: there on there way up from the supply stores, there they are now,

James looked where Jeff was pointing and saw 4 sats on a antigravity sled,

James: have one put on my fighter and each of the other’s, when ready follow me to the jump point,

Jeff: roger and he left to pass on the instructions to the technician,

The pilots went to check out there fighters and James entered his ship,

James: Jake prepare to undock,

Jake: roger

James strapped in and watched the loading of the sat,


Jake Hatch secured, cargo hold secured, sat ready for deployment,

James: roger stand by, when he heard that the other ships were ready for launch, Jake: undock and head to the jump point,

Jake: undocking, departing ship, course laid in engaging engines.

The four fighters flew to the jump point and reported ready to jump,

James: roger, once in HF deploy your sats if one fails use the back up, ready 5,4,3,2,1, Jump and the ships disappear, and reappear in HF the nebula was as described and the censers was showing the disturbance that was spewing from it James looked at the scanner an could barely make out Jeff’s ship and could not detect the pirate fleet, :Jeff lets head toward the Masson Mill,

Jeff: roger, and started to move,

James took up position on his right and followed him,

They had moved 15k when the scanner started to clear and showed the Masson Mill with the Pirate Fleet just beyond it, James: I Think this will be a good spot drop the sat and check it’s feed, then we’ll head back to the nebula,

Jeff: deploying, its operational scans look good,

James: lets get out of here, and they turn and head back into the edge of the nebula,

Jeff: I got the reading from the other sat it looks good also no ships headed toward us or the other team.

James: good, ready to jump, 3,2,1, Jump, James was relived when he appeared in AH and the other flight was there,: good job lets land, and he headed toward the Phoenix 3 and entered the docking bay, and landed, James exited the ship He and Jeff headed to the bridge,

Tracy met them as they entered the bridge, The sat’s are sending the data, and it looks good we got good coverage on the pirate fleet.

James: good lets go down to the mess hall and we can plan our next actions after lunch.

Tracy: go ahead I’ll be down shortly.

James left the bridge with Jeff in tow.


They entered the mess hall and took seats in the back, as the steward was poring them coffee, when Leonard, and Elnora walked in and joined them and sat down, they were served coffee and orders were taken, the steward left,

James: the sats are in place and sending good intel back, Tracy should be here shortly, and he took a drink of his coffee,

Tracy walked in and headed toward the table, she sat down; Chris just jumped in He will joining us for lunch, The steward walked up to Tracy, can I take your order,?

Tracy: I’ll have my usual and fix this for Chris and she hands him a message, The steward looked at the note and said ok then left,

Tracy: ten more fighters joined the fleet and 2 cruisers,

James: this is getting interesting, I wonder if we can cap the big ships,

Jeff: if we can hit them with disrupter missiles and transport some people into the bridge and engine rooms we can.

James: I’m not willing to put our people at risk, that way lets talk to Mike first he may have something we can use on them.

Chris picked that point to enter the mess hall with Mike and Sam in tow, the joined the group and sat down, two stewards pushed up the lunch carts and started passing out lunches and refilling drinks. Then left,

James explained the situation to Chris, Mike and Sam, then asked: Mike do you know of anyway we can capture the Carracks and cruisers?

Mike: Let me go over the information over for a few mizuras, I might be able to come up with a plan.

The group ate there lunch, and James suggested that they move to the conference room,

As the group settled down in the conference room Mile asked to see to scans of HF,

Tracy put the scans on the screen,

Mike studied the scans, noted the positions of the ships, were the cruisers were in-reference to the Carrack carriers, the number of fighters and patrol ships, He watched the screens for several Mizuras, then worked on data pad, then stood walked over to the screen, :if we can send in two groups of fighters one here he pointed to the screen and one here, then have the groups launch 6 stealth drones with disrupter torpedoes have them fire from these positions we can temporally disable any thing flying in these zones and he pointed to the screen, then we jump in and take out any new fighters launching from the carriers, and have our boarding teams jump in here and here, and transport onto the ships while there shields are down, and take control of the engine rooms, and upload our AI’s then secure the crews, with the capital ships out of play the fighters will scatter or surrender,

James: sounds too easy, what could go wrong?

Mike: a lot of things, the disruptors could fail, there could be mercenaries on the carriers, they could launch faster then we could react.
But we can improve our plan. If the boarding teams take battle drones and secure the engine rooms and bridges before they can get organized we will have a better chance of capturing them, we can send the Phoenix 3 thru the gate just as the disruptors are denoting that will give them cause to focus oh her while the others jump in behind them, the transports will have to jump in close and transport there teams in quickly, I think two for each of the carriers and one each for the cruisers, our fighters will have to provide security for the transport and take out any fighters that get a chance to launch and take out the patrols at the same time. It would be good to catch them, sleeping but we have no ideal of there alert status.

James: ok, I see your point, who do we get to lead the boarding teams?

Mike: Ill put that together and we can brief the leaders, this evening,

James: ok work on it, I think well plan for a 0300 attack unless some thing else comes up,

Jeff: I have 1 point to make, I think we should not all jump from here, it to easy for some one to see us massing forces and alert the Pirates,

James good point, I’ll have the ships get the personnel from the stations and jump out. Once we have our marching orders we’ll notify the others,

The meeting broke up.

James headed to the bridge with Tracy,

Mike, Sam, and Jeff headed to the docking bay to help organize the boarding crews, Mike found that there were 4 battle drones on board the Phoenix 2 and 6 onboard the Phoenix 3
He determined he had 180 security personnel Tm1 Leonard & Neville + 40 and 2 drones cruiser, Tm2 Erick & Scott +40 and 2 drones cruiser, Tm3 Clark & Leticia +50 and 3 drones carrier, Tm4 Marshall & Derek +50 and 3 drones carrier, and 2 Fighters each for protection.

Mike: contacted the principles and gave them there instructions, the fighters and security personnel landed on the Phoenix 2 & 3 then the Phoenix 1 & 2 left the sector,


Mike called James: the ships have departed the boarding leaders have there instructions, I’ll see you at dinner,

James: good, where will you be?

Mike: I going to check out the battle drones,

James: ok, see you at dinner,

James and Tracy entered the mess hall, and took seats with Jeff, Sam, and Mike

Mike: I looked at the sat feed I didn’t see any new ships,

James: I know Tracy and I have been monitoring them,

Clark & Leticia entered the mess hall and walked over to the table and sat down,

Clark: were ready

James: have you heard from any of the others?

Clark: not yet.

Leticia: Leonard told me that he and Neville would meet us for dinner.

James looked toward the entrance when Leonard and Neville walked in and headed toward the table,

James: have a seat

The steward arrived and pored coffee and took orders, then left.

Leonard: my people are ready, I told them to have supper and get some rest,

James: good, since this will be a first for most of our people I want them well rested, I have talked to the flight leaders and there ready, the situation is unchanged, and I hope to catch them with there guard down, The Phoenix 4 will Join us and they will transport all of the captives on board and take them back with them. I think Ill have the ships jump back to the HQ so I can determine which ones we will keep. And the Phoenix 3 will jump back here with all of the personnel that belongs here.

The steward arrived with there meals and the group ate then left to get some rest before the operation starts,

At 02:00 local the men and ships were ready to go,

James and Jeff were providing security for team 3 and Mike and Sam was assigned to provide security for team 4

At 02:55 Hatikvah’s Faith the drones were launched and headed toward there launch points.

At 02:59 The drones launched there torpedoes at there assigned targets, 60 Sezuras later the torpedoes exploded disabling the two cruisers and the carriers and the six patrol fighters, the four transports jumped in and started transporting tor security people on board the ships in two groups 1 headed for the engine room the other for the bridge, James disabled two fighters by taking out there engines,

Jeff: got the other one to eject

Mike: got one fighter and Sam got one, the other fighter got his engines online and was heading toward the Gate as the Phoenix 3 entered the pilot immediately surrendered.

The Cruisers were the first to be secured,

The Phoenix 2&4 were headed toward the cruiser area , The Phoenix 1 was headed toward the carriers

The Phoenix 3 blocked the gate,

The Phoenix 4 transported the 35 crew members from the two cruisers.

James: Mike move in and capture the cruiser, Jeff capture this one once the crew has been transported to the Phoenix 4,

Mike: wilco

Jeff: wilco

James: Leonard what’s the status on the carriers?

Leonard: we have the bridge and engine rooms, still rounding up the crews caught 4 pilots trying to getaway, you can move in and capture the ships, and down load the AI in case we need to move or something,

James: on my way,

Mike: cruisers captured and will be jumping out soon,

Jeff: I’m moving up on your left rear, Ill take the second carrier,

James: OK, Mike you and Sam jump with the ships.

Mike: wilco

Roth: we have 5 ships coming thru the west gate, moving to intercept,

Derick: roger, I’m vectoring Tm 2 to assist,

Anderson: I’m on it, eta 45 Sezuras,

James watched as the two groups merged, and headed toward the 5 pirate ships, then heard a call from one of the other Ldrs

Bernice: I have ships coming thru the north gate estimated at 10 to 15 ships,

Elnora: tm 2 vector to assist tm1, tm 3& 4 move to the north of the massom mill and stand by to assist,

Judy: wilco (Tm2)

Andy: roger (Tm3)

Kennith: roger (Tm4)

Bernice: Confirmed 15 Ships engaging

Judy: engaging

James was unable to see both groups on his scanner he turned to the command settings and the whole sector was shown, he watched the battles, as Jake went about capturing the carrier and downloading the AI.

The Phoenix 4 finished transferring the crew from the 2nd cruiser and was moving toward the carriers when the two cruisers jumped out.

Leonard: 1 carrier secured at has 82 crewmembers and 18 pilots, There is 20 Ships docked,

James: good job I’ll have the Phoenix 4 move up and take the crew,

P-4: I’m on it

James watched the screen and the battles at the west and north gates, the west gate battle would soon be over there was only 2 red ships there and 7 at the north gate, now the west gate was all green,

Leonard: we got control of the crew,

James: ok, stand by for extraction, : P-4 status on transfer?

P-4 Last ten are being transferred now the we can move to the last carrier and start pulling the crew off.

James: will you need more security personnel?

P-4: We could use some more security drones if you have them.

James: Ill see if I can get you some,

Chris: I have 10 on the P-2, I’ll move in and transfer them to the P-4

James: good, do so,

James: Randle I want you and Chris to jump out with the carriers, go ahead and recall your transports,
James noted that both gates were green, Elnora what’s the status on the flights?

Elnora: we have two damaged fighters no casualties, we captured 20 Pilots and 17 ships 3 were destroyed, all of the captured ships are on the P-4 along with the Pilots.

James: Good Job, we should be leaving here soon, send the Aladna Hill personnel back and thank them for me.

Elnora: wilco, and broke the connection

Leonard: the crew has been transferred, were ready to jump,

James: recall fighters, Jeff we’ll jump with the carriers, he watched the screen, the P-3 started toward the east gate as its fighters landed and entered the gate, James: jump in 5,4,3,2,1, jump the ships disappeared leaving empty space were the enemy fleet had sat 30 Mizuras ago,

James watched as the Phoenix 1 & 2 reappeared in PC along with the 2 captured Carriers, he also watched the Cruiser dock

Mike: James all secure here meet you on board,

James: roger,

James watched as the carriers docked Phoenix 2 took up position to the north of the HQ and the Phoenix 1 took up position to the south, as the last carrack docked. James: Jeff follow me in.

Jeff: roger

James: Jake dock on the HQ.

Jake: roger. Course laid in, engaging engines, entering station, docking, hatch open

James departed the ship and stretched as Jeff landed.

James waited for Jeff, and then they went to the briefing room.
