X3TC Orbital weapons Platforms.

Ok looking at my sector manifest OWP's are listed as ships.
Ok as it seems we can't buy these things anywere as I've not seen them listed in any shipyard, then being listed as a ship is it possible to capture one :gruebel:

Or may be they come under the same rules as Lazer towers so anyone got any ideas were to get hold of there things.

borading them since they are classed as an M1
then transfer a jumpdrive and e-cells
if you got the PHQ tow it very closly install a docking computer then RE :)

Arr right yer I new they were capital ship class.
So it is possible to capture them then. Nice :fg:

Good idea there jordan kirwan with the jumpdrive was wondering how to move them to my home sector & ofcourse being ships the same rules apply but once jumped to another sector I take it you have to tow them into position as there not able to move under there own steam.

Hmm like the idea of docking them to your HQ can then reverse engineer them and produce your own. Cool :wink:

Hmm haven't done the missions yet for the PHQ but when I do I'll bear that in mind. Wouldn't of thought of that jordan kirwan. sneaky :wink:

Now just a matter of getting my marines up to scratch as there's a few platforms I got my eye on :twisted:

Hmm so they can't be captured then :evil:
Stange OWP's were available in XTM wonder why they naffed them in TC.

Don't care thou am still going to have a go at capturing one.

And if I can't have one no other bloody race is going to have them either :twisted:

It just happened that i have a few skilled marines readily available; the above message is the result from my boarding attempt at certain Paranid small weapons platform. But you can always check it for yourself.

Well I've almost got 20 marines fully trained and if them an my Cobra can't do it well I guess it can't be done. :roll:

Still haven't found a bloody boarding pod for my cobra yet thou :evil:
But when I do the OWP is my first target. :twisted:

I'll send the pod in first and the rest can go on a little space walk :D

How is an OWP the "perfect toy"? They don't move and their shielding is pathetic--you'd be better off having an M7 or an M2 patrolling the sector containing your complex!

Hi,

You may not be able to buy them, but I was able to sell a Small OWP for about 20M, which was nice. I use ThisIsHarsh's NPC Bailing Addon and get them abandoned from time to time in a sector with a lot of Pirate activity.

I transferred over a jumpdrive, some eCells and a docking computer and sent it to a sector with a shipyard. Hauled it over to the SY with a TB in my Elephant, teleported in and docked with the SY. Recovered equipment and sold it. I also stopped on the way to fix up the hull to 100%.
