How do you mine nividium in X3TC?
I've played most of the x series of games, and in X3 reunion, mining nividium consisted of fully equipping a mining vessel, putting the word nividium in it's ship name dropping it in a sector that has nividium asteroids in it and send it on its way to mine minerals. Easy money!Smile
In TC there are only the options to mine and collect ore/silicon, but it seems to ignore any nividium asteroids even when i move the mining ship right next to one!
Am i missing something? Or is it not possible (yet) Smile

You have to blow up a Nividium asteroid with Mobile Drilling System, then shoot down bigger pieces with your lasers to shred them into smaller ones. Those you can collect yourself or send your TS ships to collect (special command software and ore collector they need).

You also can get a good TL with strong shields (Terrans have one named Mobile Mining Base, guess what it's good at) and just fly through the cloud of small asteroids ramming them and collecting at once, just take SETA breaks to regenerate your shield once in a while.

You have two big Nividium asteroids in Perpetual Sin, 200 million worth (or so). Good training place since it's completely safe.

What use would Nividium mines be, out of interest? You can't really use Nividium for anything, and the only way to sell it is to load it aboard a cargo ship and sell the entire ship!

You can sell it "legally" at NMMC HQ (former PTNI).

But that's not the point. The point is why didn't they fix shipyards so they start buying Nividium like they should?

I remember back in X3:R, the PHQ could reverse-engineer ships. If you reverse-engineer Kha'ak ships, they required Nvidium to build. Since the Kha'ak made some of the best fighters for AI-control, they were worth the price.

That is what I used the Nvidium mines for. At least one so that I would get a steady supply even if I blew up all the other roids.

How did you get the guns for all those Kha'ak ships you were building, out of interest?

In X3 Reunion, i had Nividium mines in an unknown Sector transported it to my HQ in Presidents end to store up for mammoth selling Wink looked back at the HQ after an hour on SETA and the NPC's where going totally crazy for the Nividium. I couldn't mine the stuff and transport it quick enough. stock was always on zero. Left SETA on overnight for fun with 10 cayman tankers running energy in and Nividium back to my HQ. 12 hours of SETA and my HQ had maxed credits (2,000,000,000) so yeah.... I want Nividium Mines!!!!

Ahm, I do not remember anyone selling Nividium mines in X3R vanilla.

They weren't available in X3R vanilla.

They were added with a script by Cycrow.
