[SCRIPT] LazCorp Crystal Free Solar Power Plant V1.02 *Updated 26.11.2009

Post by Lazerath »

===========================================
Name: LazCorp Crystal Free Solar Power Plant
Version: V1.02
Author: Lazerath
Released: 08/11/2008 (dd/mm/yyyy)
Updated: 26/11/2009
Website: http://lazcorp.lazerath.com
===========================================

 Download LazCorp Crystal Free Solar Power Plant v1.02 (Requires Cycrows Plugin Manager found Here!)

===========================================

Script Adds:

Station Menu Command: LazCorp: Remove Crystal Need From SPP (Station Command Menu)

Removes Primary Resource (Crystals) from Player Owned Solar Power Plants.

LazCorp scientists have developed technology to remove the need for crystals on Solar Power Plants. This technological upgrade to your Solar Power Plant is available for a small sum of $24,,000,000.00 credits for M size SPP's, $32,000,000.00 credits for L size SPP's and $42,000,000.00 credits for XL size SPP's.

In order to remove the primary resource from a player owned Solar Power Plant, go to the station command menu, and click on "LazCorp: Remove Crystal Need From SPP". You must have correct amount of credits in your player account for the command to work.

LazCorp would like to thank LV for working with their scientists on this latest version of their resource free upgrade for SPP's.

Please Note: This script is loosely based on the original script created for X3 Reunion by Anarkis. So a Thank You goes out to him for first developing the script for X3 Reunion!

 Ver 1.02 (New Release)

* Depending on the size of the SPP the cost of the upgrade will vary.
$24,000,000 credits for M size SPP's
$32,000,000 credits for L size SPP's
$42,000,000 credits for XL size SPP's

* Adds message log telling the player if the SPP was upgraded or not.

 Ver 1.01B (New Release)

* Fixes a problem with player account not being deducted the 5,000,000 credits.

* I've also added a check to make the command greyed out if the player does not have enough credits to use the service in the first place. Not sure how I missed adding that in the first place :(

Thx been looking for something like this, however you might want to upload it as an spk rather than in html form as some folks might not know how to save it as an spk.

Thanks for the script, i also have been looking for this :)

And yes, saving it as a .spk took some effort :D

Sorry about that guys, but its the way my webhosting provider deals with .spk files. If you don't "Right Click" on the file and choose "Save Target As" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Firefox) it simply displays the file in html or an error (depending on what web browser you are using etc.

Glad you like it anyhow ;-)

Cheers!

Very nice script but for it to be balanced it would have to cost 60+ millions (I've modified it that way).

how about putting it into a zip or rar ?

I've added the .spk file in zipped format for easy downloading. Simply unzip the file once you've downloaded it and the .spk is ready to install!

superb, i was wanting something like this badly to reduce the uber complexs and the annoying station sector lag. Great stuff, thanks dude.

Yea, I'm going to have to agree with PP above. Five million might not be enough to charge for this for proper "balance"; I used it extensively in the past, and after a while, was absolutely swimming in credits.

It was great.

Hi all,

I think it should cost slightly more than what it would cost to set up a closed SPP loop which I think is about 20mil, so I'd suggest 30mil.

Mufflink.

A mistake often made with basing the price calculation on close loop complexes is that they ususally fail to account for the fact that a closed loop also consumes some of its e-cells. In fact a closed energy loop at maximum efficiency will only kick out about 57% of the ecells output by a standalone station in Reunion.

In other word it would take 1.7454 of those complexes to generate the same energy as a stanalone station of the same base size and the cost/benefit calculation should be:-

1.7454 x complex cost - standalone SPP cost.

I worked out the game balanced costs for crystal free fab in Reunion (which I don't think have changed in TC) and came with the figures (based on an assumption that a single large silicon mine was being used):-

Crystal Free SPP M - 15,460,000 Cr
Crystal Free SPP L - 32,635,000 Cr
Crystal Free SPP XL - 59,441,000 Cr

Edit: These prices are in addition to the base SPP cost

OK, BillSheil is smarter than the rest of us.

I say we go with 15, 30, and 60 K for medium, large and xl.

Once these SPP's get going, they really do start generating a lot of credits.

And, you have to make sure that your spk does not affect the NPC solar power plants; that was an issue in the past.

How about setting it up to use Cycrow's Community Configuration Menu to define a user configurable cost? That would allow those who want it balanced to set a high price, and those who want to use it to cheat to set a low (or 0) price.

I believe it should cost 70M. It's more expensive (barely because there isn't a lot of high yield roids in the game) than a similar spp loop but considering you still have the silicon it's a bargain.

Those who want to use it as a cheat can use cycrows cheat script to make the SPP cargo hold always full ;-).

Thanks for the idea though :D

Hey BillSheil I think your calculations included the SPP cost not were in addition to the SPP cost. Your ratios are correct (1.75 * cost for XL), but the base costs seem off.

Closed SPP loop requirements (XL SPP)
5 M Crystal Fabs @ 2,973,516 = 14,867,580
2 L Bio Gas Factories @ 730,392 = 1,460,784
2 L BoFu Chemical Labs @ 2,161,964 = 4,323,928
1 L Silicon Mine (50y) @ 905,688 = 905,688
9 Complex Construction Kits @ 259,696 = 2,337,264

Total station cost = 23,895,244

When multiplied by 1.75 you end up with 41,816,677.

If you add in the cost of the spp (17,607,360) then you end up with roughly the values you gave.

Now of course this does not take into account the fact that you do not need a silicon roid.

Using similar logic you end up with

L SPP Crystal Free 31,908,157 (1.96 multiplier)
M SPP Crystal Free 24,001,847 (2.32 multiplier)

Values May be slightly different depending on assumptions, but the basics are there. We end up with 42M for an XL, 32M for a L, and 24M for a M.

athelred.

Edit : I wonder if there is a way to set the input to the correct amount of silicon wafers. That would eliminate the middle man (and the annoyingly large number of stations), but preserve the balance of needing silicon roids. You know this would not really be as much of an issue if they just included L and XL Crystal fabs and Food factories.

A slightly expanded version of the cost calculation I used (based on Factory Complex Constructor for Reunion is:-

1.75 x (Cost of SPP + Cost of other stations) - Cost of SPP

The cost of the SPP needs to be added to the complex cost before multiplication because the whole thing needs to be multiplied up in order to generate the equivalent ECell output. The "- cost of SPP" at the end is because I'm specifically calculating the additional cost. The first term is actually the complete cost of what it would be for a complex with the same output, ergo should equate to the final total cost of the crystal free SPP.

I've never checked though that the TC costs and production values are the same.

But I also agree that there shoudl probably be a penalty for doing away with the Silicon roid requirement. The (slightly) limited availabiltiy of roids is one of the few things that gives the X universe a bit of texture and prevents the player from just slapping down megaplexes wherever and whenever they like (as if making money isn't already too easy in X3).
