Is there any mod that links the weapons between a ship and another one docked to it, so that we can fire all guns together?

It could temporarily add new hardpoints to the ship we're currently flying and equip them with the weapons from the docked ship.

For example, It would make my Heavy Centaur Prototype fire also the guns of the Xenon Unknown Object docked under it.

I don't think that's possible due to limitations of the engine.

Hardpoints are fixed in the types files and then loaded into the game as part of the ship's information. So you can't modify them while the game is running. In any case there are limits on how many different turrets a ship can have.

Shame really - what you propose could have some really cool implications, especially for the Khaak (Khaak carrier bedecked in AKyon-firing Scouts anyone?).

Interesting idea, but what might be possible is using docked ships weapon/shield generators to supplement the carrier's weapon/shield recharge perhaps.

Script could look at the docked ships and their recharge then pass on a percentage of the power generator output of each ship to the carrier.

As the best fighters have power generators of the order of 200 I would propose a 50% efficiency transfer of weapon regen from the fighters (about 6000 max weapon regen boost with 60 fighters).

The idea would be that a fighter would be given an order to link it's power generator to it's carrier. As the carrier takes shield damage a portion (say 1%) of this is also applied to the linked fighters' shields (a form of power feedback) if the linked fighters shields drop below say 50% (as a safety measure) it stops supplying energy to the carrier's weapons until the fighter's shields have recharged back to 100%.

What do you guys think?

EDIT: See the Carrier Power Link System (CPLS) mod for my implementation of the proposed concept.

Welcome to the forums, what you have just done by posting in this discussion thread is generaly considered necro-posting and the mods generally frown upon this.

If you wish to experience the idea I have proposed in this thread (or discuss it further) then you will need to look at the official threads for either the aforementioned CPLS script or the appropriate version of my AWRM mod. If the discussion is specific to CPLS, then I would continue the discussion the official CPLS thread.
