I haven't had much time to play with the trade extension mk3 yet. I've set up a merc I wasn't using to trade in Home of Light, but I've not had much success. Looks like it's going to take a while to pay it off.

Like I said, I've not played with it much.

Anyone had more success with it? If so, which systems/ships work for you? How much have you made? How long did it take you to pay off the ship and the extension?

Also, this thread should be used to insight input to egosoft for the universal trade extension (mk4?).

Well, the MK3 has been great for me. I currently have 4 Boron Mantas, each with a fully kitted Nova as "bouncer" in various sectors. To minimize exposure, I stick them in sectors that have LOTS of fabs (more to trade between AND more targets) or at least an NPC M6 or higher.

My most recent message from the DCF-T Tachibana informed he made 2.3 million credits over approximately 500 trade runs in Paranid Prime I think it was. I'll see if I can get a screenshot of the message log.

They're slow and steady earners, it takes a lot of time to do 500 trade runs, but in the meantime, all that trading in Paranid Space has made me a high % Friend of Priest Duke. I've actually got two operating in Paranid Space, a lot of their sectors have quite a few fabs. I have one operating in Split territory, and the other one alternates between Teladi (mainly) and Boron sectors.

Slow steady earnings, and at first, they won't do so great, but as Burnit says, once they pass "level 4" (200k total credits in profit), they become much smarter. My most recent MK3 Manta, the DCF-T Hinoki, only made about 15k to 20k per run starting, but I haven't heard any alerts from him in some time, so he's probably made quite a bit by now.

In any event, if every one of your static stations and OOS defenders gets crushed by a massive Khaak invasion, you can send these TPs and their escort to a "home" system such as Family Pride or Argon Prime, and the M2s and M1s will ensure safety.

I put the MK3 trader to work in Siezewell, then Greater Profit, then Spaceweed Drift.

Did a total of 10 runs before it was killed by KHaak.

With a fully maxed trader(Speed, Cargo) it was a loss of about 1 mill credits.

Going to settle for other scripts from now on.

I'm operating 5 mantas equipped with MK3 trading software. So far, one ship ran out of stuff to trade - made me over 3 million on 974 trade runs. The other 4 are still trading!

I think the Mk3 trade software is great - once I got it to work :)
