Chapter 1: A new Hope

Hey guys! Here's part one of chapter two of my story! Happy reading! Plz leave a message after reading!

Devastation
Julian is heading back to the ‘Argon One’. Ban calls him again. Julian answers the hail, and immediately notices that Ban is looking panicked.
‘What’s going on? You told me our trouble is just going to get worse.’
‘Just dock aboard the Argon One. I’ll explain the situation once you’re inside.’
‘All right’ Julian mutters, with slight protest, cleverly disguised.
Julian docks at the ‘Argon One’, and immediately heads for Ban’s main office. The moment he steps in, he notices the fear that lies in commander Danna’s eyes.
‘What’s going on?’ Julian asks him, panic running through his voice.
‘Have a seat Julian. You might be shocked to find out what I’m about to tell you’
Julian takes a seat and watches Ban, worries all over Julian’s face.
‘What is going on?’ Julian asks him again, panic slightly noticeable in his voice. Julian has never seen Ban like this before. He always has been the most calm and easygoing person he’s ever seen in his life. Sometimes he even wondered if old Ban was even human. But that answer has been given now. He watches Ban take a seat as well.
‘There’s no way in breaking this to you, so I’ll just come out and say this.’ Ban sighs, and then continues.’ The Khaak and the Xenon are now working together in eradicating us’
‘What???’ Julian replies in total shock. ‘But I thought the war with the Khaak was over?! What does this mean?’
‘I don’t know what the Khaak want. Neither do I know what the Xenon want. But somehow, they both get something important out of this joint alliance. The only question is, what? And even more important, how can we find out?’
‘I don’t know, but right now, we have to fend off the Paranid, don’t you think?’
‘Of course.’ Ban nods ‘of course. The problem we have right now, is what to do next? We can’t fend off the Paranid and fight the Xenon Khaak combination at the same time’
‘ I don’t think this is a time to worry about that. We’ll see’
Ban takes a look at Julian. This young man has been through a lot the last few Mazuras. He looks and thinks ‘ I’m really glad he’s on the good side of the tracks. Not only that, but also that Julian’s on our side. This guy seriously knows how to put up a fight. With everything we’ve been through, I saw his fighting skills grow and grow. An amazing kid, that’s for sure’
‘ I think it’s time for me to go now’ Julian interrupts Ban thoughts. I have some things to check. Too bad my Ore Mine is now unreachable. Could’ve been nice for some extra money.’
‘ Indeed. You might want to set up a Solar Power Plant in Kingdom’s End though. The Boron are always in demand of energy there. But if you will please, head up to Split Fire. Pirate activity, which is normally very high there, has suddenly dropped to an all time low. I want you to investigate.’
‘ All right. I’ll go and do that. See ya.’
‘ So long Julian.’
Julian boards his ship, leaves the ‘ Argon One’ and heads off to Split Fire.

Elena has just received a worrying call from Ban. She decides to act immediately and walks towards her daughter’s room. She knocks on the door, and soon after, Saya responds: ‘ Come in’
The door slides open and Elena walks inside. There she finds Saya sitting in front of her desk.
‘ Saya, I’ve just received a call from Ban the other Mizura ago, and it’s bad.’
‘ How bad do you mean?’
‘ I don’t know exactly, but you have to go to Split Fire. Julian is in there as well.’
Saya takes a questioning look at her mother. ‘ Now why would I want to go into a Pirate sector?’
‘The Pirate sector has somehow been swiped clean. No Pirate would , in their sane minds, fly inside it. Let alone cause that much devastation.’
Saya sits herself upright. She takes a good look at her mother. ‘What are you talking about mom?’
‘I don’t know what exactly has been going on there, but it’s bad, real bad. I think you should go and check it out.’
‘All right mom. I’ll go. There’s probably nothing going on there anyway.’ Saya replies to her mother, the last part sound more unsure than she wants. She gets up from her chair, and walks towards her ship, with her mother following her. After they reach the ship Saya notices her mother is more nervous than she’s ever seen her before. Just before Saya is ready to board her ship, Elena puts her hand on Saya’s shoulder.
‘ Saya, please be careful.’
‘Don’t worry mom, you know I will’
Saya boards her ship. The moment the airlock closes, Elena replies ‘That’s exactly what scares me’

Julian flies around. After a few mizuras he decides to head to the east gate. Again a few mizuras pass by, and still nothing going on. ‘ Hmm… this is strange’ he mutters. ‘I better head to the south gate and see what’s going on’ He flies to the south gate, but after a few mizuras he notices a pirate Nova flying fast on his screen. He watches what he’s doing. The Nova flies past him, and with Paranid on his tail. Julian doesn’t waist another minute, immediately pulls on the throttle and locks on to a Paranid Perseus. He fires at the Perseus, and not soon after that, the ship gets blown up. Right after that, he sees High Energy Plasma Bolt being shot at him. He barely manages to evade them, then turns around and fires at another Perseus. That ship gets blown up right after he shoots. Suddenly he hears the cockpit voice saying: Warning incoming missile’ He tries to turn around but it fails. Julian’s buster is hit. Flames are scorching the back of his ship. Immediatly he notices the two Pericles’ that were following him get blown up. He takes a look around and notices it was the Pirate who destroyed the remaining ships. He hails the pirate.
‘What do you want?’ a Teladi pirate responds.
‘Thanks for saving me’ Julian replies.
‘ You make me have good profitsss’ the Teladi smiles. Julian smiles for a brief moment.
‘ Do you know what went on here?’
‘Yesss, Teladi know, is terrible. Violent attack went on here. We pirates don’t want to go back. No way.’
‘ Hmm… I see. Do you know who was responsible for it?’
‘ The Paranid. The Paranid gone mad. They kill everyone. They seek no profitsss.’
‘ Right. Thanks for your help’
‘ I go now. Must make good profitsss.’
‘See ya.’
Julian’s comm line rings. He answers is, and sees that it’s Saya.
‘ Hey there Saya’
‘Hey there JB, I was sent along to make sure there aren’t any trouble.’
‘There are trouble.’
‘What do you mean?’
‘Take a look around. Pirates are nowhere to be seen in this sector. Normally you would’ve been under attack in here.’
‘You’re right. Hmm… this is bad, really bad. Who could’ve caused this?’
‘I know who caused this. The Paranid. They’re probably testing their strength against their enemies. I don’t know exactly why they’re doing this, but this could indicate serious trouble. This entire sector is now a complete devastation. And, what makes it worse is, that it’s only one jump away from Elena’s Fortune. From there, they can invade whatever sector they like, since it’s only a couple of jumps away.’
‘All are in range? If what you say is true, than that could mean serious trouble.’
‘It could mean the end of the Argon Federation’
‘Could be, but we’re not sure yet. After all, it was you who found out the truth about the NVidium scandal in the first place.’
‘That’s right. What do you mean?’ Julian replies, getting more un eased with every passing second.
‘Maybe they want you, and nothing else. Not that we’re going to let them take you of course’ Saya apologizes herself.
‘Allright, but what can we do to stop it?’
‘Not much at this point.’
Again Julian is being hailed. He switches the line, and sees Ban.
‘What is it?’
‘Julian, we have a major problem in Black Hole Sun. Could you go there and help out?’
‘Sure, I’ll be on my way. Saya, did you get that?’
‘Yeah… I’m coming along.’
‘All right. But just be careful out there. I can’t tell you exactly what trouble there is. Just be careful’ Ban warns them.
‘No problem Ban. Okay Saya, let’s go.’
They fly off. Destination: Black Hole Sun.
