CHAPTER 2

He woke in daze. All that was around him was space dust. The Xenon had done their work. The Wall was now in pieces. He thought, where did that destroyer come from anyway? Fortunately, the west gate was still standing, and the Xenon was gone. He had clear path out of here.

He woke again, this time to the voice of the ship’s computer saying it had docked. The comm screen came up.

“I need to speak to Rella Holl,” He said.

“She is available, why might I ask do you need to see her?” Asked the station attendant.

“It’s an important business and security issue. Just let me see her.”

He was led into her office, 12th floor of the Free Argon Trading Station in Argon Prime. He and Rella were best of friends and also business partners. He grabbed a chair and sat down. She was on the phone with her friend, Kit.

“Okay… okay, I come home early to take you to get a job at the Solar Power Plant Alpha, in Herrons Nebula,” Rella said. She hung up and sighed. “It’s been a tough day,” She described.

“No need for that now,” Thomas said solemnly.

“Why?”

“Check for yourself,” He called on the stations BBS and navigated to the article about The Wall, and showed it to her.

“My gosh, this is terrible! How could the Xenon strike this close to home?”

“I don’t know, and neither do the rest of the Argon,” He pointed to his mercury. “I’m going to need a better ship for this.”

“Leave it all to me,” She said confidently.

The next day, the Xenon had claimed more sectors. It was horrible. They had completely destroyed Aldana Hill, Split Fire and Rolk’s Drift, and there were reports of Xenon fleets gathering in Akeela’s Beacon, and Atreus’ Clouds.

Thomas was heading for the Free Argon Trading Station to pick up his new ships, an Argon Titan at the shipyard, already outfitted with the latest technology, and 2 Argon Novas, 2 Argon Busters and 3 Argon Discoverers. He had just undocked his ship when an Xenon M2 came out of the east gate.

Good story! Bit short as I was disappointed to get to the end so quickly as more action started to brew..
