[Video] More dogfighting... Now with bigger ships! Even more AIRE!!!

Post by Nightwatch »

After my last video, I decided to show how the same techniques would apply to bigger ships. And to prove I do fly "The Best" occasionally.

Theres little tutorial stuff in this so it probably belongs here.

Sequences -

Assassination mission against a Teladi Albatross

Attacking Xenon sector 534 in the Hyperion.. and showing how NOT to take out a Xenon K :D

Dogfighting in Mookeye's Revenge in a Pirate Nova Raider.

And yes i used a standard Nova with AIREs. Its not a crime ya know...

All good stuff - Nightwatch

I'm glad to see that that I'm not the only one who shouts 'run away!', and heads for the nearest exit. :D

maybe I missed something, what are AIREs for on Nova?

good video to demonstrate some of X3's combat, well done.

by the way the music is Juno Reactor's remix of Traci Lord's Control.
The original one sounds like this

Thanks for the correction. I got it off of the "Mortal Combat" Soundtrack where its listed as "Traci Lords - Control" in bold, with "Juno Reactor instrumental" in small type in a bracket. So understandable mistake I guess. Anyway I've corrected the credit on the download links

As for the AIREs, well I was curious how they would work to be honest, and you cant use BIREs in the front mounts on a standard Nova. Made for a better vid anyway, I think.

some sources say it's their remix. My own MK soundtrack actually listed Juno Reactor only, without Traci Lords. Since the JR's Control is longer and sounds a touch different, I am guessing it's probably a remix, not just a tune without voice.
Awesome song though :)
Another one of Juno Reactor and Traci Lords that I like is - Fallen Angel.

practically though, I think they are probably a bit useless on Nova (unless you are fighting fighter drones), since APAC(or BPAC) for example can deliver (at least) twice more punch.

however, I was caught in a strange fight once, when 20 some Xenon M5s (Ns?) descended onto Ianamus Zura. I could have easily destroyed them OOS with an Elephant, but I decided to take them on IS - and what a challenge that was.
Apparently 20+ Ns armed with only IREs can rip through M7s shields in just a few minutes! (PSGs on M7 were out of the question due to heavy traffic)
M3s lasted against them for only few minutes too.
So IREs are good for something.
