POED has the following purpose:
Until now, when purchasing a equipment dock, it was nearly senseless, because it didn´t include all the tunings and upgrades you purchased it for.
POED solves this problem.
When having installed the script, you can, like until now, purchase a ED, having included all Tunings and possible to include all upgrades.
How it works:
The script tests, if there are new EDs of the player and starts there the part being responsible for including tunings and upgrades. Automatically included are the tunings and can be bought at the average price.
You can include all upgrades which are available in the game, when you can buy them. This counts for every Mod or extra upgrade, too.
To include an upgrade you have to do this:
Equip a ship with the upgrades you want to include, add the phrase "add_upgrade" to the name and let it land on the ED when it not yet hasn´t been landed there.
After that you will get a message listing the upgrades, the costs being necessary for including, the player money and the question, if you really want to include these upgrades.
When choosing "yes" the upgrades are included, the costs are taken from the player account and the phrase is taken out of shipname. Nothing else is changed with the ship.
If you choose "yes", although you don´t have enough money, are upgrades included until you have unsufficient cash.
After this, the upgrades are available in your ED and can be purchased to the normal price.
For including an upgrade you have to pay 5x normal price and at least 100.000 credits.
Checks:
- for transfering a upgrade you have to pay the normal price,
- you can´t change the prices,
- it´s impossible to transfer upgrades to the ED,
- it´s impossible to overtune your ship (ships that are overtuned when landing are also no problem)
- and when having not enough money the upgrade is transfered back to the station.
- There is always one upgrade available at the ED.
Other wares are not influenced in any way.
Problems:
- A pity is, you can´t see the price of the ware.
- One thing not (yet) working perfect, is when buying tunings, it isn´t always possible to transfer the max. possible number of tunings, you eventually have to do this a few times.
But the checkings are working correctly.
- Another thing really ugly is that some ships are delivered with some upgrades built-in. These Upgrades can´t be seen from the ED, means you just see a 0, where should be a 1. The check, if this upgrade is on the ship, isn´t influenced by that and works. So, when you can´t transfer an upgrade to the ship although you have enough money, it´s possibly because of this.
The installation:
You have to activate the X³ script editor. For this you have to change your name to "Thereshallbewings".
The existing structure in the zip-file has to be copied to the X3-drawer.
By activating the script-editor you will get a "modified" to your game-profile. This can´t be changed in a normal way.
The de-installation:
In the AL-Plugin menu there you will find the activated script. When you disable this, all parts of POED are stopped.
Attention!!!!!! Disabling this will take all included upgrades from all EDs of the player, these are away and must be included new when you want them back.
After this you can save, delete all parts of POEDof your scripts-drawer, and after loading you can go on playing normally.
Notices:
Theoretically the script could be a little bit performance-critical (because a few tasks are running fast). In this case you shouldn´t park own ships at the EDs, because on every own ship is startet a new task. This should solve the problem. With my computer (Pentium 3GHz) there are no problems.
Version history
POED v1.0 (04.01.08)
first release
POED v1.01 (05.01.08)
I had forgotten to take out test-logs from script, error eliminated
POED v1.02 (05.01.08)
- when more than one ship was docked at the ED more than one upgrade could be transfered to the ED
- when having unsufficient cash to pay tunings this wasn´t detected, now all tunings are transfered back
- general problem with paying tunings solved
POED v1.1 (06.01.08)
- sounds added
- small error with overtuned ships eliminated

- when updating from versions before 1.1 to 1.1, it could happen, that still the old script was running on the station, problem solved, version control added

This update isn´t really necessary, because there were no other changes in the script made, so the only difference is the added sound
