A New Start

This is a story about 4 ex-navy fighter pilots that start up a security escort service, I hope you like it comments welcom this is my first post.


New start Day 1

Jeff Collins, Michael Strong ,Sam Kith, and James Hawk had just left the Navy in Argon Prime, combine they had saved 2,289,560 Cr each had a good fighter and had planned to start an escort service,
While in the business registration office they applied for a business license $3,500 and Argon Law Enforcement license 7,580 to start an escort service and named it Hawks Security Inc $11,080 leaving us 2,278,480

Jeff found there first job, a transport was looking for an escort to Herron’s nebula to the High Yield Production Complex an was willing to pay 1,550 cr

I told Jeff and Sam take this one while I searched for another easy job , and office space and a secretary to hold down the office and inform us of escort request .

Found a request for a ride to terra corp in home of light paying 1,100 cr So I had Mike pick him up at the trading station and drop him off at TCHQ ,

Jeff informed me that he had a jot to escort 2 freighters to power plant in power circle 4,400 cr, And a possible contract to provide escorts Argon Energy Supply Transport,
There freighters that has been attacked by pirates lately,

When entering Power circle Jeff saw 2 pirate busters turning to intercept the freighters

Jeff called the pirates to let them know they were escorting the freighters and that attacking them would be a big mistake,

The pirates said they would kill him to, then turned to engage Jeff when in range Jeff opened on pirate 1
Sam opened on pirate 2

Pirate 1 shields dropped to 10% and he bailed

Pirate 2 was good at evading Sam’s fire

Jeff called for sector police to pick up the pirate and claimed the buster and sent it to the trading dock
Then Jeff turned to help Sam

Jeff fired a shot into the buster and its shields failed the pirate bailed

Sam clamed the ship and sent it to the trading dock, as they were turning back to the freighters

Jeff saw a pirate buzzard and a falcon com thru the west gate from Three worlds that trying intercept the freighters

Jeff tried to warn them off , Sam said they wanted to fight so he kicked in the booster’s to intercept the buzzard

Jeff went after the falcon,

Sam fired a mosquito m at the buzzard and when he turned to evade he opened with his main guns it shields were soon down to 2% before the pirate begged him to stop firing and he ejected form the buzzard.

Sam contacted sector police to pick up the pirate and clamed the buzzard and sent it to the trading station and turned to help Jeff with the falcon

The falcon shield were holding at 50% the pirate was trying to buy Jeff off for 2,000 cr Jeff just told him to eat his cannon fire, the rear turret had been blown off of the falcon ,

The falcon was running, trying to get to the gate back to three worlds when Sam caught up and added fire to the falcon his shields dropped to 4% and he bailed

Jeff checked the ship for contraband and claimed the ship he found space fuel and weed on board and had it ejected,.

Sam blow the contraband space dust Jeff told Sam that James would be surprised at the ships they capped,

Jeff sent Sam and the falcon to the trading station and went to the power cell factory to get there payment
Jeff: Sam ill head to the trading dock to file the reports and check on repairing the ships, when I’m done at the power station.

Sam: ok Ill meet you on the dock and sector police called said they have the Pilots and request we come to there HQ to fill out the incident report.

Jeff: ok as soon as I can.

When Jeff landed Sam met him on the landing platform, told him that two of the Pirated had a $200,000 reward for them and argon police gave us $5,000 for capturing the other one and that he found 500 crystals and a locked security box in the falcon,

I told him to go the station manager and see if they have any office and living space onboard and how much would it cost, then contact James relay the information to him and tell him that I think that we should stay in this sector.

James: Argon Prime Trading dock
got a call from Mike that his trip had been uneventful and that he was returning to AP trading dock with the 1100 cr


Sam: Called to tell me how there run went
I was amazed that they had capped 4 ship and made over 209,400 cr ,
he also told me that he found Office space and a suite that we could all stay in with dock permits for 7 Berths that would cost 7,000 a month or 80,000 a year lease.

I told him to get the lease and that Mike and me would be there in three hours, not to repair the ships yet

That I wanted to look at them and see if they were worth keeping.

Told mike to meet me in 15 min at the docking bay.

James: Mike we are jumping to power Circle to link up with Jeff and Sam, told him about there fight in power circle told him to be on the look out for pirates once we jump in.

Computer announces that we are entering Power Circle, Mike calls spotted 4 pirate busters and 2 nova’s told him to watch them while I call Jeff

Jeff we found some of your buddies waiting for you 4 busters and 2 nova’s

Jeff: OK well be out to play in 5

Mike get on that nova to your right try to cap it Ill take the one on the lift

Jeff and Sam can play with the busters

Mike: OK

Sam: I got 2 busters heading at me

Jeff : I got 2 buster trying to get on your 6 Firing Wha must have been a lucky shot it space dust now going for 2 firing its shield are down to 50% ,25%,10% taking hull damage he’s ejecting

Sam: firing shields down to 75%,50%,40%,20%10% pilot ejects Damm the other one is on my 6 my shields are down to 80%

Jeff: I’ve got him firing Shields 5% ha ha He bailed out,

Mike I cap him with 20% shields but destroyed the rear turret , sent the ship to trading dock

James: I got mine but he was stubborn shields at 1% & 30% hull damage rear turret destroyed

Jeff: Sector police picking up the survivors, Request we dock and fill out report .

James: Ok

Sam : roger see you on station I’ve got a problem with my turrets and long range sensors

Mike : Ok

James: I just finished filing the reports 3 of the pirates were wanted and had a large reward on them they had been shooting up sector police for fun.

Ill have to file for the rewards tomorrow should be in the neighbor hood of 1.3 mil

I will have to look into hiring some pilots and maybe a transport ,

Lets go see the ships, then check out the office and living area.

5 Busters 2nova’s 1 falcon 1 buzzard
Sold the busters had the novas repaired and max speed and rudder added in the rear turret added hidden bottom turret with , Had the falcon repaired and maxed out added a hidden bottom turret sold the buzzard

We checked out the office space,
It had a large reception area two offices and a conference room , two bathrooms and a small vending room,
with a snack/sandwich machine a soda machine and coffee maker and a refrigerator, It will do till we need something bigger

The living area had 5 bed rooms and 3 bathrooms.

The living room that was huge Had 3 couches 4 recliners 4 end tables and 3 coffee tables 4 lamps and two pole lamps 106” view screen ,

And a communication center with 52” View screen and communication equipment
A large eat in kitchen with all the modern appliances

It had a small 8’x10’ vault in the closet of the master bedroom and had king size bed plus a 4’x5’ closet .

The other bed rooms had queen size beds with 4’x5’ closet

As we all set at the kitchen table with our carry out dinners,

I went over the days adventures, sold ships for 1750000 repaired ships for 500000 made 7050 for escorts bounties received 405000 expenses paid 61080 balance for the day 4401610 bounties due 1300000 that made us $5,701,610 for the first day of operation

Sam: I wished that Randy had come with us he would have enjoyed all this action.

James: Sam Randy wants to try to make some runs on his own for a while.

Jeff: If randy knew how our first day went he would join us just for the fighting.

James: I had not found a sectary yet, and someone will have to man the office till I find one. Tomorrow Ill fly to AP post a job listing for pilots and look for office help .

After dinner we watched the Argon News then went to bed.

Glad to see your starting. I liked it!
I spend most of my time looking for the right word or phrase and then the old dreaded spelled wrong cannot find. Good luck and a good start.

Good storyline, except I feel that it's written more in point form rather than in smooth sentences. Maybe it's just me.
