Wow! X2 benchmark 71.3 fps on my Toshiba Encore Win8.1 tablet
So I thought it would be fun to see just how badly my little 8 inch toshiba encore, running win 8.1, plays X2.
Installed steam and game to the micro SD, ran the benchmark, 71.37 fps.
bumps, AA, shadows all off, AQ on, screen res 1024x768x32
Amazed. It looked so pretty on the small xcreen.
Going to be playing this tonight
edit: should add, another bonus was the screen was not stretched, instead just showed vertical black bars at sides, am v happy

Even with AA cranked to the max it's smooth. Some modern GFX card however don't seem to be able to display the bump maps correctly; at least not on my AMD cardTTD wrote:Considering how old X2 is, it should run with ease on most if not all modern Windows PCs.
Still, X2 is in many ways the part of the trilogy IMO

I do.
But I think the way the story was told was better done in X2. And the whole atmosphere was more X back then. It simply looked more like BTF than X3 looked like X2.
Scriptwise X3 is of course easier to handle. Combat is far easier and the Khaak - well, are only a fly on the (non-existing) windshield of my cockpit.
The only thing I really, really miss in X2 is a vanilla PHQ.

hehe i can play on the small screen cos i have a wifi keypad/mouse combo, works fine.
have to say tho, although the game ran fine, the small screen just didn't work for me.
but it reignited the old brain synapses and so i am now playing x2 on my main pc in windowed mode
