HELP! Vista Troubles
Hi guys, i have checked all previous Vista queries and it looks like mines unique. Ok i have Windows Vista Home Premium and my computer is brand new, administor (i tryed ticking the boxes) and excels the system requirments. When i try to instal it with the instal disk it goes along with the "i accept" page etc and i get to the screen which says install and has the path on the top. i keep this path the same as the automatic one and click install. when i do it instantly says "an erro had occured while trying to install, try again later" What do i need to do because i need to kick ssome Khack butt again

It's one of the files required by the game which is installed by the game installer in the game folder. If the game isn't finding it then either it's not there (failed installation, running the game from the disk or from the wrong folder) or Vista simply isn't finding it (working folder for the shortcut is incorrect).

I was answering your question in the second post about ijl10.dll. This appears when you run X2 not when you try to install.
Without having Vista myself it's a little difficult to answer your original question, but I'm guessing that it has something to do with Vista's new security features. I believe that the first part of thomas12345's post involving copying the files manually is relevant to this.

Well clearly you haven't got it working otherwise tthere would be graphics too. The most likely explanation is that there are still files missing following the failed installation, and I'm afraid the most likely reason for that is that you didn't copy them across correctly. Whether Vista is or isn't out of the equation remains unproven.

sorry i completely forgot and yer its working know. i basically went onto the disks, explored them and copied all the files (all of them, every last one) across into a folder i created in program files. i then went into all the folders (dont paste the folders across) and then copied everything from within them into the new program folder. This means i dont have to link things up to start from x destination etc. i then click on all the apps and select run as administrator, download and install all the extentions specified by thomas and away you go
