It has been nearly a millenia since the fall of the New Argon Federation(N.A.F)Since that time the pirates of Mi ton's Refuge have dominated all sectors from Ceo's doubt to Aladna hill, thus joining the pirate clans into one nation.
All of this because the Kh'aak's last ditch effort succeded in wiping out 95% of the N.A.F fleet while they were docked for a new retrofitting...With the N.A.F gone no real military force stood between the two pirate clans.
The Argon, Boron and Teladi have consolidated their military forces to create a massive border patrol which to date has kept their core systems safe, though the split are going it alone they are nearly scattered to the wind and the paranid remain hidden in their nebula filled systems.
With the vague history lesson over the story can now be told with some form of understanding.
In the begining the N.A.F were merely a sect of Argon, many considered them to be the private security of the Argon people though with the growing contacts and their relentless drive to be recognised as a seperate faction the Argon Senate reluctentely agreed. With thier independence won they set out to claim the sector between New Income and Montalaar for their own.
Many Yazura of hard work and sleepless nights and the Federation had a strong capital in which to conduct their business.
The Argon grew jealous of their counterparts and even though the N.A.F had defended them countless times from the Kh'aak when it came time to return the favor the Argon fleet was ordered to remain in their current sectors.
With the betrayal and slaughter of millions of N.A.F citizens and the complete annihilation of their military fleet the New Argon Federation Faded into the abyss,only to be mentioned in school text books as "The fools who thought they could stand alone" to better instill a sense of loyalty for future generations of Argon citizens.

Admiral Javus:The Old Goner navigation research, we found it last week, we marked the location and immedietly began jumps until we were within comm range, and there is something else.
President: what else? you're not going to tell me you have destroyed the kh'aak too are you? I can only take so much.
Admiral Javus: No madam president we were scanned as soon as we found earth, we tried the hail the vessel but it jumped away as soon as we sent a comm request.

Admiral Javus: Oh and madam president we managed a visual just before it jumped, it appeared to be of Argon origin.
President: How could that be admiral?
Admiral Javus: I don't know, I would of thought if we did come from earth originally they would have been far more advanced by now.
President: I want you to return to earth,try to find the ship that scanned you and re-interupted-
Admiral Javus:-background chatter- Hard to port all batteries open fire! and tell Captain bron to launch his alert fighters now!
President:Admiral?
Admiral Javus: A large fleet just jumped right ontop of us madam, they are argon ships! but they arent responding to hails!-background chatter- Five degrees starboard, fire the larbard batteries at their engines, and where the hell are those fighter?!?
President: Admiral whats the situation? do you need assistance.
Admiral Javus: No no we can han..oh god, three more capitals just jumped in,-background chatter-Nav Op get us out of here no--

President: Admiral?...Admiral?!?...Get me the ministry of defence now, I need a search and rescue party for the Renowns last known location Stat,And tell him to increase the guard in the core sectors imedietly, I dont want to take any chances.

=Mission debrief for rescue ops and recovery team=
As far as we know at this point there are no survivers, We had assumed they were attacked by kh'aak or Xenon but apon arrival at the site we quickly discovered a mine field and a Satalite with an automated message.
now system databases report the satalite was not there prior to the battle so we assumed it was left by the attackers.
Message reads...To the unfortunate souls of battles lost, Once betrayers now betrayed,Argon is at war with our grand Federation once called New Argon Federation now by the name Children Of Terra.
And so it is, the Argon Federation have yet another mysterious enemy who can seemingly strike at will and dissappear into the abyss.
What will become of the argon people? and will the Children of Terra stop with them if infact they can wipe them from the universal playing board?
Only time will tell, until then we must wait knee's shaking ,hearts racing, one eye on the heavens for all time.
One thing is certain,an entire Argon fleet of two titans 4 centaurs and a flagship carier(The Renown,with 60 fighters) did not last more than five minutes against their forces.

Months have past since the fateful encounter with the Children of Terra ,rumours float in space of the fleet, people call them "The ghosts of Argon"
Although no new sightings have officialy been reported, the older space pilots, especially the frieghters tell stories of vast armada's appearing from the nebula's as if they were ghosts of mistakes past.
The stress of possible attack is starting to take its toll on the Argon military as their rotations grow longer, some of the capitals have yet to return for crew rotation because of the threat on the system if they left their post.
Argon One has began patrolling the sectors for the other ships that have been deployed to the borders and because of that Argon Prime is fearful of a direct assualt on their home worlds.
The Argon Secret service has yet to disclose certain information to the general public ,such as the pirates have began to wither away from within their own sectors,many top ranking spies report once flourishing pirate systems to be nothing more than mass grave yards, and whats worse is no one can figure out where the Xenon have gone in sector 101 and 347...
They havent been destroyed it is if they have fled their sectors, Whatever has caused them to flee cannot be good for the Argon people.
Tensions rise within the military of the Argon fleet as they become increasingly spread out away from their home worlds, with no end in sight and the grueling shifts slowly wearing down the top argon fighter pilots and crew alike it is only a matter of time now before something happens...
The Fog of War has decended apon the Argon people their only hope is military professionalism and faith in the people.
==The Shot Heard around the Universe==
The First official large scale battle has taken place in Home of Light, A large Argon fleet consisting of Argon One ,Illustrious, and Redoubt The three major flag ships left in the argon fleet against 1 N.A.F(Children of Terra) Carrier (Luna) and a retrofitted Titan named Kyper's Might.
With Argon One's fighter fleet spread thin patrolling nearby sectors she only had 20 ships for support...The two Fleets entered skirmish not willing to commit to the battle fully, A single shot from the Redoubt's port turret started the full scale fight.
Within seconds the Luna was spewing fighters like an angry hornet's nest, meanwhile Kyper's Might took a defensive formation infront of Luna.
Just as the fighter were reaching Redoubt they sent out some form of comm message, whatever it was it left the Redoubt dead in the water, no shields no weapons and no engines, the Illustrious tried to save the redoubt but it was hopeless, before it could even make the turn the Redoubt was floating space junk.
The fighters turned their attention on the illustrious and the same thing happen within seconds she too was gone leaving only Argon one, strangely the fighters turned back to dock at Luna while Kyper's might and Luna's guns provided an effective barrier for Argon One's fighters.
A blinding light flashed and when the captain of Argon One could see again they were gone, jumped to who knows where.
The Argon cannot figure out what reason the N.A.F had for jumping they speculate they were just demostrating how close to home they could hit and how effective their forces are...Indeed the fight was vry effective, more than 5,000 Argon dead and not a single N.A.F loss.
The military speculates they have an ability to hack Argon ships remotely, if this is true the Argon wont stand a chance without something to counter the threat.
The Race is on to find an answer to the N.A.F hacks , meanwhile the Split and Paranid look on with hungry eye's A weak argon means new territory for the two warrior races.
The Boron offer ships as do the teladi..for a cost, With a renewed garrison of joint race forces protecting Argon space they have a chance to settle down and work on ways around the hack of the N.A.F fighters...Or so they think.
The first large scale battle has been fought and lost by the argon since they were first ambushed. though they lost within an hour all hope is not lost, their first M0 has come off the lines The Argon Leviathin(XTM mod) offer's extra protection for Argon Prime.

Some one actually read it!, yes I have been playing this game for a year or so straight so in "my" world its several thousand years in the future, there are actually posts about the N.A.F and their rising if you search my posts...though due to some unhealthy deployment locations I was unable to get to a pc let alone the internet so they are not complete.SOTS wrote:But this is set some thousand-odd years in the game's future. Unless Herron is immortal or something lol I guess they'd have a new president.
