Hi everyone,

I recently re-installed X2 after ages from the X-Superbox DVD. I found the following problem: In the "T" folder everything is in the wrong language. My native language is german and I've so far played the game only in german. But when I install the game from the Superbox DVD with language set to German, none of the extra scripts (AEGIS, etc.) work. They appear in shop only as "READ TEXT xxx-xxx" (x=random number). This is very frustrating, as I can't find my first X2 disc and so I have to use this version.

I tried installing the 1.4-1.5 Patch, but that didn't help.

So: should I simply install the bonus package in its german version, but run the risk of the Station scripts still being corrupted?
Is there any way to get the german version of the "t" folder?

Is there any other ingenious solution to my problem?

If the German version of the texts were missing then the game would fall back to English, it wouldn't give you ReadText errors. This means all text for the scripts must be missing from your installation. There shouldn't be a problem with reinstalling the Bonus Pack. All languages that it's been translated into are installed at the same time.

Okay, so I did a re-install and installed both the bonus-pack and the 1.4 to 1.5 patch (call me over-cautious) and tadaa, it works!

Thanks for your help. But it seems to be a problem with the install files on the DVD, as far as I can tell, since the "t" folder (on the dvd) doesn't have any xml-files besides the english ones.

Encountered a small remnant of the faulty install:

The munitions-transports for the capital ships of the different species are still called "Read-Text", but thats no big deal, as far as I'm concerned.

Ship names are normally assigned on creation only. So as long as these ships fly around they will keep their name, which is a Readtext-error, if the text was not available on creation. If the text is properly installed now, any newly created ships should have the correct names though.

I tried deactivating the munitions-transports in the AL-settings, but they still fly around. But it doesn't annoy me enough that I want to start a new game. So as far as I'm concerned, problem solved.
