Note: The .cat and .dat is named the same as the map.xml...The game will "default" to the Genesis map when you start a new game. This is normal..If you do not like this feature, move the Genesis map to its own folder if you wish to choose a different map to run with the base mod. Then move it back when you wish to play the Genesis map again...I do not recommend you rename the map.xml.


This mod is a tribute to all those great graphics designers that look like GODS to us....that can't afford 3DMax..lol

Story:

You are a Terracian. You are from the system Terra. You are a thief.

You have just stolen a Terracian Waymaster from a Terracian mining company. While engaging the jumpdrive to escape your pursuers, it malfunctions; hurling you through a space-time continuium into a world of the unfamiliar; a world dominated by a strange race; an even stranger language.

When you drag yourself from the floor of your ship and shake off the dizziness, you see that you are surrounded by several menacing fighter ships. You soon realize that they are friendly enough, only curious of you and your strange ship.

Unable to communicate, they transport you onto a small ship fitted with a language translator. You spend the next two stazuras learning the customs and traditions of this race that calls themselves the Boron... You are now an accepted stranger in their homeworld....Aquarius Borona.

As you study your surroundings you soon realize that they are starving....For something you can provide.

Will you ever see your homeworld Terra again?....If your good enough....Yes.

Mosquito..dmg.950 and fast.

Hornet...dmg.500,000 and very very slow. "It Is A Nuke!" 2 will drop any station..Therefore, all M3's, Pirate TS and M6, max at Silkworm. Hornet only available on capital ships.

Teladi Harrier is now M6 support ship capable of carrying XL cargo and jumpdrive usable...:-)

The Map:

This is what I call a "builders and miners" map. The various races have sent out scouts and have claimed their territories, built trading stations upon them have a few support ships as well as equipment docks and piers here and there. There is however; only 4 sectors "per race" that has any abundance of technical, support or industrial production on them. As well, each race only has "one" ore and "one" silicon mine.

They are literally starving for mineral resources.

I designed this map for the player that wants to finally tell himself, "It's time to build that empire I've always wanted to build". Frankly, a person could spend years building on this map.

There is lag reduction features on this map, as well as the most beautiful backgrounds, planets and suns that I could find.

Action:

Plenty!..If you want to play with pirates, there are the standard pirates spread throughout the universe, as well as some tough ones in their home sectors. If you study the printable map you will see that each race has access to Pirates, Xenon and Khaak.

Furthermore; there is a Xenon shipyard in each Xenon sector, so they will always be venturing out...Of course the Khaak will eventually come out and play too...:-).

Recommended Scripts:

First..I want to say, (this is just my opinion) I feel that "all" mods should comply with certain standards. One being that "all" signed Egosoft scripts should work with the mod. Second...There are certain scripts that have become such a common part of the players game "Xai Automining" for example, that they as well should be looked at as another "standard" in playability for mods..Enough rant on that subject.

I recommend the following scripts which I have tested on this mod.

CS-Dixie XLDMK2..An awesome M2 capital ship, with 18 guns, external docking for 4 ships, and 875MW of shielding.

CS-Heartland XLCMK1..A slow, but incredibly powerful M1 carrier class ship with 12 guns and docking space for 60 ships, the Heartland carries 875MW of shielding.

CS-Scout MK5..A custom high-speed scout ship, built using various experimental technologies. Sporting four 1MW shields and Beta Pac lasers, the CS-Scout is one of the Confederate Shipyards best selling ships.

Pirate Broodstar XL4..A custom medium fighter craft, built for the pirates in the secret pirate Shipyard.

Terracian Sickle XL6..A completely original designed M6 from Terracian technicians.

Pirate Dragnar XL3..A custom heavy-armed M3 fighter, produced by the secret pirate shipyard.

CS-Mastodon...A custom heavily-armed TL (affectionately nicknamed "Big Belly").

CS-Viper MK3...A very powerful and fast M3-class fighter developed by the Confederacy in a joint operation with the Boron. Due to the advanced technologies employed, there are very limited quantities of the ships available and the price is very high.

CS-Rebel MK3...A very powerful and fast M3-class fighter from the Confederate Shipyard.

CS-Hunter MK4...A powerful and fast M4-class fighter developed by the Confederate Shipyard.

CS-Recon MK5...A very fast M5-class scout ship developed by the Confederate Shipyard.

Pirate WidowMaker XLDMK2...The Pirate Widowmaker, "Goddess of Night", is variant of the standard Xenon destroyer. It is one of the most powerful ships in the "X" universe. It carries formidable firepower and has great defensive capability. The Xenon in the last decade have updated this class of ship. This ship should still be considered as a major threat, although they hardly ever leave their own systems. The WidowMaker is being built for the pirates at the hidden DeadlyDa Shipyard.

Pirate SoulFury XLCMK1...The Pirate SoulFury is named after one of the three Furies of ancient mythology, who was "unceasing in anger". It is variant of the standard carrier ship of the Xenon. It is a slow yet powerful beast. Armed with multiple cannons and fighters stored in its large hangar bay, the SoulFury is considered a deadly threat. The SoulFury is being built for the pirates at the hidden DeadlyDa Shipyard.

CS-Cloverleaf...The CS-Cloverleaf was designed to replace the aging Argon M6 Centaur with a vessel that had greatly improved weapons capabilities. The Argon declined to accept the ship, due to it's very high costs. Heavily armed with 3 front lasers, and 3 2-laser turrets, the trident carries two 125MW shields, but offers two external docking positions M5 craft.

CS-Lee XLDMK2...The CS-Lee, the "Wise in Battle", was developed by Confederate Shipyards to replace the aging Argon M2 Titan with a vessel that has greatly improved weapons capabilities. Heavily armed with 4 front lasers, and 6 4-laser turrets, and 600MW of shielding, this ship offers five (5) external docking positions for fighter craft.

CS-Guardian XLCMK1...CS-Guardian, the "Royalist's Edge", so nicknamed because of the Boron Queens purchase of the 1st prototype. The Guardian is heavily armed with 4 front lasers, and 6 4-laser turrets, and 875MW of shielding, this ship offers 130 internal docking positions for fighter craft.

Pirate Raven XLMk2...The Pirate Raven XLMk2 is a huge M6 class ship based on the old Teladi Osprey design concept. The XLMk2 is the largest M6 available, and has massively upgraded weapons capabilities versus other M6 class ships. However, it is very slow.

Paranid Equinox XLDMK2...The Paranid Equinox XLDMK2, the "equalizer", is a huge M2 class ship which, while slow, offers massive firepower. The Equinox carries 875MW of advanced shielding, and has external docking facilities for up to 4 fighter craft.

Paranid Formosa XLCMK1...The Paranid Formosa XLCMK1, the "foremost in battle", is a huge M1 class ship with massively upgraded weapons capabilities over previous M1 class ships. It carries 875MW of advanced shielding, and has internal docking facilities for up to 81 fighter craft. However, it does not handle quickly, and is quite slow.

CS-Striker...The CS-Striker is a "Pocket Carrier", designed for fast in and out missions into enemy territories. With capacity for 25 fighters, sporting 18 lasers, 375MW of shielding, this fast and highly manouverable carrier is the Confederate response to tactical assault needs.

Terracian Lexus XXLMV....The Terracian Lexus,is based on technology found in the ruins of a metallic moon-like object from Earth's ancient past. Only available to those with almost unlimited funds, it carries 54 lasers in five 4-laser turrets on the top, bottom, left, right, and rear, and a single 34-laser turret up front. It has internal docking capacity for 150 fighter craft, and carries 1,250MW of advanced shielding. It has a surprisingly high top speed, but accelerates and maneuvers very slowly.

Terracian Defiance LT3...The Terracian Defiance LT3 is an M3 class ship, which is highly maneuverable and offers good acceleration and top speed. It carries 75MW of advanced shielding, and 6 lasers. However, it has very limited cargo space, and accordingly carries a very limited missile load.

Terracian Raider LT4...The Terracian Raider LT4 is a small maneuverable M4 class ship with good acceleration and a high top speed. It carries 15MW of shielding and 4 lasers. However, it has very limited cargo space, and accordingly carries a very limited missile load.

Terracian Storm LT3...The Terracian Storm LT3 is an M3 class ship which is highly maneuverable and has good acceleration and top speed. It carries 75MW of advanced shielding, but only 2 lasers. In compensation, it offers a large missile payload.

CS-Winger LT4....The CS-Winger LT4 is an attack star fighter with moderate speed. while not as fast as some M4 ships, it has 4 lasers, has added cargo capacity for extra missiles, and carries 20MW of shielding (4x5MW).

CS-Excalibur XLTS...The CS-Excalibur XLTS is the Confederate Shipyards top selling ship. Many races are beginning to phase-out their outdated transport ships in preference of the CS-Excalibur XLTS. Fast, highly armed and a pure pleasure to command, the CS-Excalibur XLTS is the transport pilots first choice!

CS-QuadStar XLMK3...The CS-QuadStar XLMK3 is one of the Confederate's most powerful heavy-assault star fighters. It was designed to take on much larger capital ships, thus providing its pilots with the punch of capital ships at a fraction of the cost. The CS-QuadStar XLMK3 carries 6 lasers, and has 100MW of advanced shielding.

CS-WingMaster XLMK5....The CS-WingMaster XLMK5 is reasonably fast, and with 4 lasers is quite heavily armed for an M5 fighter.

Pirate Knat XLMK5....The Pirate Knat XLMK5 is a very small star fighter with two wing-mounted Blaster Cannons. The idea behind the Knat was not to create a ship with a lot of firepower, but one that could use blinding speed to outperform its opponents.

CS-Shamrock...The CS-Shamrock has a carrier capacity of 65 fighters, but the firepower of the most advanced M2 Capital ships. The advanced propulsion systems allow for a quick and nimble handling ship, however the large hanger deck and heavy armament means that there is little room for shielding.

:!: Boron Royale..The Boron Royale is the pride of the Boron homeworld. So special is the ships design that even new found friends among the Argon and Confederacy know little of her design secrets. Sporting 20 125MW shields, docking for 150 fighter craft and the best weapons produced with Boron technology, the Royale commands respect wherever she passes...(This is the most awesome carrier design I have seen from any graphic designer..A must see!)(When i first found it online it sported 65 125MW shields! My gosh! I toned it down a lot.

Terracian X Elitist L...This highly modified captured Xenon L is the work of Terracian technicians as hobby craft in their spare time.

Terracian X Elitist M....This highly modified captured Xenon M is the work of Terracian technicians as hobby craft in their spare time.

Terracian X Elitist N....This highly modified captured Xenon N is the work of Terracian technicians as hobby craft in their spare time.

CS-Ranger...This older Xenon L was modified by the Confederacy to test the structural integrity of the older Xenon designs. Very few prototypes exist.

CS-Spirit....This older Xenon M was modified by the Confederacy to test the structural integrity of the older Xenon designs. Very few prototypes exist.

CS-Sprite...This older Xenon N was modified by the Confederacy to test the structural integrity of the older Xenon designs. Very few prototypes exist.

Terracian Gargantuan....A massive portable storage platform designed by the Terracians. The Gargantuan can store "station class sized cargo" of up to 100,000 units. Sporting a maximum of 12 125MW shields, up to wasp class in missle defense and a top speed of 5mps. There is no docking bay and all cargo must be transfered via a transporter device.

Terracian Asp....A fast M3 class ship designed by the Terracians.

Terracian Marauder...A fast M4 class ship designed by the Terracians.

Terracian Nomad....A "super" fast M5 scout ship designed by the Terracians.

Terracian Sentinel...A mining operations support TL class ship designed by the Terracians. This fast and agile TL class ship offers a large cargo hold, docking for 6 support ships and the maneuverability of some M6's to M3's; making the need for turret support lasers obsolete.

Terracian Waymaster....A mining operations and freight TS ship designed by the Terracians. With dual mining lasers front (manual) and back (auto), the Waymaster makes quick work of any astroid.

AP-Gunner...(NPC ONLY)..When Argon technicians failed to restore the AP-Gunner back to her full glory after she was towed back to Argon Prime, the Confederacy sent their own technicians to assist in the effort. Several jazuras past and the restored AP-Gunner was given a honorable position guarding the Curios and Relics Museum.

:!: Terracian Aurora..(This destroyer is of UNBELIEVABLE design!..This is the "high polly count" model..Another must see and fly!)

Split Wolverine...An experimental Split M3 class ship.

Argon Elitist....A highly upgraded Argon M3 experimental.

Terracian Paymaster....Designed by the Terracorians to haul large amounts of ore from the mining fields to Terricorian factories, warehouses or support TL. The Paymaster has a huge cargo bay, is highly shielded and sports a good top speed; the utimate in caro hauling or mining support. The Paymasters missle capability has also been upgraded by the Terracian's as added protection of its valuable mineral cargo.

Teladi Bird of Prey....An experimental Teladi M3...WOW! Good Stuff!

Boron Cudao....A highly upgraded Barracuda class M3.

Split Bearcat....A Split experimental. (M4 with a turret..Good Stuff!)

Boron Squid....An all new Boron designed M4...(Great Looking Design!)

Argon Esquire....Argon Experimental M3 class ship.

Terracian Baymaster....A freight TS ship designed by the Terracians and the most widely used by the race.

Goner Ship is buyable.

Xperimental Shuttle is buyable.

All Standard Pirate ships are buyable through the Black Market.

:arrow: Update: After playing the map for a while I discovered that the Split sectors were in my opinion not given as good of access as they should have..This is an improved Genesis map for those that want the extra gates to Split sectors..Cuts down traffic somewhat as well in certain sectors..You will need to start new game if you decided to use this new map..Cheers

A note on some of the ships:

Some of the ships in this mod are in the BETA stage and have minor issues..I thought I would try and address those issues that I have found, so players are aware.

The Terracian X Elitist N has an issue with docking on M6 craft. No other problems found.

There are several M5, M3 and M4 class ships in the game that are now capable of using Khaak weapons..This info does not show up though in the ship information..I will let you discover which ones on your own..:0)

There are two ships in the .cat and .dat that I decided NOT to include as playable ships because of issues with them..The CS-Deliverance and CS-Vector.

The Deliverance has an issue with the docking port being located in such a position that it takes forever to dock any ships..They will eventually dock, but not timely for good game-play for a carrier. The ship itself is beautiful and functions well..It can easily be brought into the game and used with a "shipmaking script" of your choice.

The Vector has a serious issue with it turrets, making it unplayable. I have been unable to resolve the issue with it (could very well be a mistake I made as well)..I left it in the base mod so others could tinker with it if they liked.

The pricing on some of the ships may seem a bit unbalanced to some..But, if you take into consideration the amount of resources on the map it balances well..The Sentinel for example is priced very very high..But once you have bought one you will see why..:0)

CS-Ranger has issue with fitting thru Boron docking bay as well as the CS-Rebel MK3 having the same problem.

Just remember that some of these ships are in Beta..So save often, especially when docking a new bought M6 at equipment docks or spending hard earned credits for some monster.. :wink:

Nice work...

Hadn't much time to play, I only took a quick glance.
But I did have time to check the CS-Vector problem. It seems the CS-Vector and the Teladi Phenix use the same model 4164. This is the reason why the turrets aren't working. Rename the bod-file for the CS Vector in the cut-folder and TShips. That should do the trick.

The following weekend is going to be genesis time.

Eagle and Firebird...The Firebird replaces the Phoenix. Instead of replacing the Phoenix (something I didn't want to do), I just put these two ships in their own slot. The Eagle (CS-Deliverance) works fine..The Firebird (CS-Vector) has an issue..Glad now I didn't overwrite the Pheonix.

I did use ShadowX's 18 gun version of the Eagle though from this string:

Somethings not right, so I just left it out as playable..not that big of a deal though and more trouble than it is worth to try and patch the problem once figured out..Just something for people to tinker with if they have the know-how..Lots of other ships in the game...In all honesty..Turrets are not my thing anyway, I never mess with them.. :)

Just a little FYI X2 uses .bob scenes over .bod, so to replace a bob ship using it's number you need to convert your .bod to a .bob, also note only .bob ships show in the video's.

Ahhhh...Is that the problem with the Vector?..Thanks for that info, I had no idea about that.

Looking in my .cat .dat, I see I have 3 .bods in there.. :roll:

Hi Pogi,

nevertheless, if you don't want to replace Phoenix, you still need different numbers for the bod-file in the cut-folder. The problem with the CS Vector was the following: it used the model of the Teladi Phoenix with the parts defined in the Phoenix scene file and in that order. That's why your turrets and weapons aren't working.

So let me see if I got this straight...If I want to use the Vector then I need to change the .bods to .bobs with X2 BOD Compiler..Then just target those for the Vector. That it?

Once again: if you want both the CS Vector and the orignal Teladi Phoenix, you have to rename the bod-file of the CS Vector in the cut-folder to something not used and modify the model entry in the TShips (and optionally convert the renamed bod to bob). If you want to replace the Teladi Phoenix you have to convert the bod file and change the entry in the TShips to reflect the changed turrets and weapons.

Ok thanks...So not converting the .bod to a .bob is not critical then when not over-writing the Phoenix...?..I think I got it.. :)

Some tips on playing Genesis using Xai Automine.

Because there are no original Egosoft sectors on the Genesis map, some of the features of Xai automine need work-arounds.

Cleaning up asteroid markers does not seem to work. I am again assuming this is because there is no Argon Prime or other "main" starting sector for these M5 ships to appear. You can resolve this issue by doing the following:

By editing the script: "plugin.Xai.AutoM.cmd.mscan.xml". Edit the race type of the navigation markers from "friendly race" to "Xenon or Khaak". You can then jump in your Disco and if a mineral scanner is on-board, you can then auto scan all the asteroids in the sector. As you near an asteroid, scan it manually (this will log the mineral amount and type). Your ship will then release a "hostile" navigation marker that the AI will clean up in no time. The Disco is fast enough to make the rounds of all the asteroids before the AI has destroyed all the hostile markers thus preventing looping of the same asteroids. Careful using SETA doing this as crashes can occur, especially with the very large asteroids that this map has an abundance of.

The Terracian Gargantuan is ideal to store large amounts of minerals with its 100000 cargo bay. However, when using "automine collect and transfer", the ships do not seem to be able to get close enough to the ship to transfer via a transporter device, or the fact that it has no docking bay may be the problem. This issue can be resolved by doing the following:

Park a cheap TL (Elephant etc.) within 4k of the Gargantuan. Equip it with a transporter device and have all your mining ships transfer their ore to it instead. When it is full, just transfer its cargo to the Gargantuan. This can be done remotely with "other" Xai scripts listed above.

Another tip for faster lag free game play on the Genesis map is to:

Go to the options\AI and turn "off" all things that have to do with non existent sectors. Such as Task Forces in Presidents End..etc....Now..I'm back to playing :D

great mod, Some of the cool ship guns don't work right and the rebel and one other when in flight you get duel grav. scan window and communication window that; s what i have found . Dude, this still rocks 1!!!!!1

Thanks for your comments.. :) Yeah, some of the ships were in BETA when I found them, but I still could not resist adding them because they were pretty cool. I know nothing about making my own ships or whether any of the ships in this mod have been fixed later by their designers to deal with the few problems that some have..Probably not, since X3 is more the focus now.

I bet that in the future though, some of these graphics and mod gurus will probably return to X2 and blow us all away with some kick butt mods and designs when the X3 fervor reaches saturation...My hope anyway.

X2 will always be "classic" to me....Even with its limitations.

I'll probably start playing this soon... Is it compatible with the Star Wars Ships mod?

Also, how do I activate/deactivate mods once they are installed?
