Arrow or Starburst

Post by joeone » Mon, 16. Apr 07, 21:00

Ive got the arrow from the Bala Gi missions and I'm wowed by the speed.

Is the starburst faster?

its a bit slower (i think), but it can carry a jump drive (i think)

this is jus off the top of my head and from what ive heard, would be nice if someone were to confirm this

Arrow is 300 kms faster than Starburst but has abysmal acceleration. With boost extension reaching top speed is easy, the slowing down part takes a while though.

Personally I prefer the Starburst

Edit: Both can only carry s class wares, so no jumpdrive or triplex scanner for both of them

So if like you said arrow is faster, and with a Booster accelerates just as fast why do you prefer the starburst?

Not an attack on you in any way hehe I'm just curious :)

Because it takes for ages to slow down. If you reached your destination and want the thing to stop it just wont for a long time and you missed the spot. Tried to use the Arrow for supervising the construction of my complexes. Prefer the Starburst because the speed is fast enough but its handling is more receptive.

The Arrow is a little faster than a Starburst. Neither can carry a jumpdrive, since a jumpdrive is M size cargo and they can only take S.

Doh, several people beat me to it

I will try to add something useful then - if you are going to use them for those M5 only "help deliver these packages/win this bet/inspect these factories" type BBS missions, get yourself a docking computer from paranid EQ docks first. Being able to dock instantly from 5 km out without having to slow down saves a LOT of time in these ships.

The Arrow has a top speed of 1320km/s while the Starburst is 1140. This is offset as the Starburst has a max cargo hold of 366 while the Arrow has a max of 166.

both have 35 max cargo, so no difference there

I tried it once. Fully buffed Arrow with an afterburner installed.
Forgot if an Arrow can normally have an AB or if I scripted it in but...
it took 50km to come to a stop again.
My complete script download page. . . . . . I AM THE LAW!
