Chapter One



Mr. Galen glad to see you back the Goner Priest said with a kind voice.

Josh smiled trying to hide his disappointment over just being expelled from the Navy Academy.

Goner Priest [This is your room and is there any thing you need?] No and thanks Josh replied.

Josh went in set his things down laded down on the bed and begin to thank why did they start a fight so close to graduation!
I knew they hated me but to try beat me up! Then to say I used a stunner on them then beat them up!

So I get expelled because I can’t tell anyone whom I am or where I'm from!
If they knew I had survived the attack that killed my family they would take me apart to try to make more like me.
I am a man! I hurt, bleed, hunger and thirst like any other man. But I’m not like any other man.
I am from the Alpha Prime sector, my Father had just finished a very advanced ship and we were going to take a vacation and tour some of the other sectors near Alpha Prime.
The gates there are the same as in these sectors. We had finished one sector entered the gate to next and entered an unknown sector. The gate would not let us go back through it was dead on that side we were stuck!

Our ship had a jump drive but without an active gate to use jumping home was not an option. Even with the gate addresses from our home sectors nothing would lock in.

Father dropped beacon at the gate and set out trying to find an active gate. The sector was rich in resources but no inhabited planets so no help from the locals, we were alone.

The ship had repair robots, a small constructor unit and food units. We needed a larger constructor unit. So Dad turned one of the two docking bays into a work area for the large constructor so we could build explorer drones. Constructors need elements to copy and we needed a few uncommon elements.
So Dad and Roman [our family android] adapted our scout ship with a small mining laser so my Mother and I could look for the missing materials.

After resting we set out Dad and Roman stayed to build a large constructer then eight explorer drones. Mon and I took shifts scanning we had a mapped grid to search then move to the next and so on.

Our technology was more advanced than here, energy units never run down and we could turn energy into mater but we needed an element to copy. So we keep looking.

After 14 days I found it on long range scans Mom had been awaken from my excitement, finely here it was on the back side of a asteroid.
To our astonishment it was a ship! After a concentrated scan of the derelict ship we decided to jump back tell and Dad then decide what to do.

Back aboard the yacht after studying the scans we found the ship to be an old fighter over 20 thousand years old. The old fighter was of a more advanced technologically than our ship.


Dad and Roman went to the old fighter to get what we needed then to try to learn where it was from.

While Dad and Roman was gone Mom told me how the Ancients had created different forms of life to compete. What do you mean I asked?

Mom [The best reptile, best water breather any thing and every thing but they had to be human like.]

Josh [What do you mean?] Mom [They had to produce offspring, work together, advance in knowledge and culture.]

Josh [You mean the different races in our home world were just a contest?]

With a stern but sad look she replied yes and no. Josh [What do you mean?]
Mom [All four of our races were made from humans but not all the life forms were.]

So what am I asked Josh? Mom [You’re special.] Josh [How?] Mom [Your Dad and I had been genetically enhanced before we were born so we decided to give you the best we had.]

The man that made us who we are was an Ancient he genetically enhanced you in my womb.
We were all three born in a ship in space taken back in time before Noah's flood on earth.

Why Josh asked? Mom [So we can live a long time 6to9 hundred years. After the flood man was stricken down only to live a 120 years. That’s why we were taken back in time.]

So am I a man or a freak? Josh asked. You’re a 100 percent what a man should be Josh, his Mom said in a loving voice giving him a hug and saying but most men at there best only reach about 20 percent of what you are.


Josh was just then awaken from his sleep, someone was at the door the doorbell was sounding as he made his way to the door trying to gain his composure after the dream he had of his family.

As he wiped the tear from his eye looking out the peephole it was a young woman? Opening the door slowly Josh saying can I help you?

Are you Joshua Frederick Galen? Yes and who are you? While holding his finger on the rapid close button.
I’m Ann Dane. Josh [Well what can I do for you Miss Dane?]

Ann [I have been locking for a fighter pilot to escort a freighter I’m going to purchase. Someone woke me at my room a little while ago giving these items to give to you and he told me you would be the best chose for the job then he left.]

Josh [Did he say who he was?] Ann [No.] Josh [What did he look like?] Ann [He was dressed in a Goner robe I didn't see his face. Look I scanned the bag before I took it! It looks to be a PDA and a laptop is there something wrong here?]

No Josh said just let me scan them to make sure there mine. Josh scanning them for explosives or poisons they were clean. Reaching his hand out taking the bag.

Looking at the young woman saying; Miss Dane please meet me in the cafeteria in about 30 minutes while I get ready then we can talk business.

That’s great Ann said with a smile.

Josh took the PDA and laptop moving to the disk in the room thanking, this don‘t belong to me!
Turning the laptop on a voice in my ear said hello Josh. Not since the death of his family has the implant in his ear worked.

The voice went on, Josh I am the man that enhanced your family DNA, I can’t reveal to you my identity.
I had nothing to do with the death of your family or your misfortune. I can tell you that someone will try to kill you thru sabotage and lots of innocent souls shall perish if you stay!
So leave the Argon sectors till I can resolve the problem you can trade and move freely in the Argon sectors just don’t stay over 24 hours in the same place. Those who wish your destruction will not venture out of the Argon sectors.
So seek a place of headquarters for now with a friendly race.
I will contact you when it safe and good luck. The laptop and PDA are a gift from me; they are slave units for you alone. There is a lockbox I placed at your ship with two handguns, a rifle and a full range scanner inside. The weapons and lockbox will only work for you. The specifications on the weapons are in the laptop, use them wisely.

They have all the current information from all the races in these sectors.
Your family was sent here to help prepare for an enemy that will destroy everyone and everything.
So help when you can, your life and fortune are here with a people of all the races.

Josh thought, [No one knew about the ear peace I had tried to find it with deep scanning, it was never detectible. I had to trust him! To know so much about me, if he had wanted to harm me I’m sure I'd be dead!]

I had better leave this place but first a talk with Miss Dane
Josh gathered his things that he had in the room and his new toys the Ancient had give him and went to meet Miss Dane.

Josh swiftly moved to the cafeteria looking for Miss Dane. There she was at a table Josh sat down across the table facing her.
Asking, Miss Dane what are you plans? Thanking to himself I need to get out of here I have friends at this place and there in danger!

Please call me Ann. Ok Ann, Josh said. Ann [I have a pilot’s license to fly a M5 or TS class ship. I have the credits to purchase an M class Dolphin with max speed and rudder upgrades and 50K in credits to trade with.]

And were do you want to start trading? Josh asked.

Ann [Kingdom End to get the ship then to trade on energy cells in the Boron sectors till we max the ship out after that we can talk when the time comes.]

Josh [How do you plan to split the profits?] 50/50, She replied. Ann [I plan on taking 20% of my cut for upgrading my ship the rest to build savings and living expense.]

im guessing that was a little flash back with his family, you might want to seperate thoes a little more in the future, not too bad tho

you might want to drop time travel, imean you dont need to go back in time to icrease life span thru genetic engineering
