Well, first of all, it is nearly impossible to copy all orders correctly. A CLS-Pilot has got dozens of variables and Arrays stored, lists of NPC-Stations that do not even exist in another game, so they are not copied. The script (X3-X3) copies the simple commands (Get ware best, sell ware best, Attack all), and commands like the commercial agent (which works without any other input) or ST/UT. Other commands are not copied, and as ships are always spawned outside of stations, they will just move to the next station and wait for further orders. I suggest naming the ships in a way that you exactly know where they belong to and what they do.

I'm still re-organizing my empire, 2000 ships waiting for new commands. Also, note that even I cannot build a complex... therefore, the wares inside the stations of a complex will multiply Wink

Hi SymTec , cheers for the X3-X3-Converter, the perfect solution to empire woes when playing a new mod. But im having some trouble using it. it says in your read me that ""4. Move to calm/empty sector (optional). In the "special menu" of your playership or every other ship of yours, select option
?X3-X3-Converter?. Select any object and position and then type in "write"."" That done i could find no ?X3-X3-Converter? option under the "special menu" but i did find it under the "piracy menu". So i selected the X3-X3-Converter option it asked for a sector slected that then it asked me to select a station but gives me no stations in the menu to select. also tried running from the script editor with no joy. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah, I probably didn't update all readmes - I now changed the command to the piracy slots for better compatibility with other scripts. You have to select a ship or station you own - if you don't have anything else than your playership, move into space and select it. This is necessary so that noone tries to move around things that do not belong to him after the import.

Can the X3->X3 converter be used to transfer savegames for the 0.7 patch?

That's a big question. In 0.7 the whole Tships has been reindexed...

@DSE: It would be best to write a scriptfile that knows the indexes that belong together, so that the equivalent ship main- and subtypes are brought together (Argon M5 = Argon M5, etc.) - if anyone wants to do this, I would include the file in my script, so that anyone could use it. I currently do not have time to install 0.7 and write a script that only consists of a library of 200 ships Wink - whoever wants to help me, can contact me Smile

Actually the stock ships dont change their positions so I'm assuming the converter will work fine vanilla X3 -> Xtended 0.7?
(not actually had time to download and check out the script)

The converter WONT be able to properly do a 0.6 save -> 0.7 at the moment tho due to some TShips changes. However i've sent SymTec the info he'd need if anyone wants to help him. Smile

So, it's just the additional ships that changed? - If anyone is interested in helping me and all users by writing a 140-line-if/elseif-statement, I'd appreciate that. (Even an absolute newbie can do that.) Otherwise, I'll have a look over the thing on Saturday or Sunday.

Just want to clear up a few points (at your expense Razz)
Does the X3 to X3 converter work with NPC ships too then? I created a universe from the original and added 7 new sectors, but there were none of the original NPC ships. I was wondering whether or not the importer would add the NPC ships from my proper game(If these are added in automatically, please tell me Smile)
Will I be able to convert my 0.6 XTM --> Modified map w/ XTM 0.6 --> Modified map w/ XTM 0.7? I just read about the incompatability problems Sad
It might not be the right place to put this, but will the new XTM 0.7 map be modifiable? If so how do I do this? I just want to add the sectors i'm adding to my current game into it, while keeping all the new XTM ones. Will the new XTM sectors modify the original map, or act as a 'patch' map? I'm a bit unsure about patched maps Sad
Thanks for you time and quick answers! Smile

No - only with ships you own (and that are not currently in repair in your SHQ)
Quote:

These sectors and their contents will only be copied if the sector exists in the new game, too. I just can't create a sector...

Most probably, everything will work. Just that thing about the ships that XTM adds, they are not going to convert correctly from 0.6 to 0.7, so that e.g. the Khaak Frigate will be the Otas Reaper, etc. - the ship and everything it has installed will still be there, but the type might vary.

This issue will be fixed/upgrade released by this or next weekend, and it ONLY concerns converting XTM0.6->XTM0.7/XTM->vanilla, no vanilla->XTM-converts.

I have not heard a "yes" of anyone who really did it yet, but I have done everything in a way that the converter will be compatible to all mods.

Or: 95% yes, 5% no, it will definitely do no harm to anything if applied correctly, and I don't think you'll be the first one to try. As I've heard no complaints yet, it will most probably work.
