What is it:
A free upgrade for the Mineral Scanner. Used to scan all of the smaller (grey) rocks within a selected sector. This free mineral scanner upgrade will scan the entire sector in 2 seconds and then the ship that you used to scan the sector will then deploy Navigational Beacons right in the centre of each group of Nividium rocks (to mark their locations for future ref), Very user friendly and does not use any log file or text messages. If the scanning ship was interupted, (attacked etc) it can now resume from where it left off dropping new Beacons. The Beacons have the name: "Nividium Rocks Yield : ##" as their label, so you can prioritize the harvest easier.
How to use it:
Use the X3 Script Installer to install or if you are using the WinRar package:
Unrar the package into your X3 REUNION directory. The rar file uses "relative paths" so the individual files will be placed into the correct subdirectories or file folders automatically.
The "Scan Nividium" command will be found within a ship's Commands/Custom/Scan Nividium menu. You can start this command from either your personal ship or any other ship that has a "Mineral Scanner" installed. Once you have moved or jumped a ship into a given "Sector", just start the command = Commands/Custom/Scan Nividium from that ship. You could also start the command from your personal ship and then select the other ship to perform the scan. You don't have to be in the same "Sector" as the other ship in order for scanning to take place. You can be in sector or out of sector. Because this upgrade is Audio message feedback intensive (from your onboard computer's voice) you are limited to doing one scan at a time with any given ship. Multiple scans with multiple ships all at the same time are not allowed.
Equipment Required:
Mineral Scanner
(a ship that does not have a Mineral Scanner installed, will not show the "Scan Nividium" under their Command/Custom/ submenu. However, if you are starting the command from your personal ship that does have a Mineral Scanner and the target ship you have selected does not have a scanner, then an error message will be heard to inform you that the ship you want to actually do the scanning, can't, because it does not have a Mineral Scanner installed).
How to Un-Install:
If you installed using the X3 Script Installer then use that to uninstall the Scripts.
If you installed using the WinRar file package, then:
Delete the BenCo pck script files (noted above) from your "scripts" subdirectory (file folder) and delete the 448930.pck file from your "T" subdirectory (file folder).
Version History:
4/06/2007 version 2.00 Added multiple deployment of Beacons and replacement for damaged ones. Ship can now re-scan a sector if interupted before and carry on from where it left off.

There was no need to bump 2 threads with the identical messgageSparky Sparkycorp wrote:Hi there,

I'm still perplexed as to why Ben threw the proverbial Teddy and he's welcome back anytime but he must realise the errors are all on his part, there was no inapropriate behaviour by the S+M mod team only support

discussing a moderators action in public is a lockable offense. Was there any need to add this post as well as a PM? No! thread locked.Sparky Sparkycorp wrote:Dear LV,
I agree with the principle that there's no need to spam the site but I don't believe that this was the case here. Please see PM.
