[MUSIC REPLACEMENT] MusicPackMK1
The MusicPack MK1 replaces the ingame music of X3. Additionally I add some atmosphere SFX into the stationtracks. Just copy the files into your gamedir.
The music is created by different artists, all released on www.Jamendo.com under a special license for free disposal. A kind of puplic domain, totaly legal stuff.
A closer description of all Songs can be found in the licence_MusicPackMK1.txt file. Please have a look!
the Genres are: dark/ambient/chill/elektronical/experimantal/eRock/classic
Tracks are encoded in MP3,44khz,160kbps,ABR. a total of 151:35 mins of Music.
There are new Stationtracks, too.
Enjoy!

I'll grab them when I get home and give them a listen. I just got done completely editing the universe file so that each sector has it's own unique track.
Tracks from 3 BSG soundtracks
Firefly & Serenity soundtracks
Plus an assortment of other sci-fi/classical soundtracks
X3 has cost me a fortune.
Every non-khaak/xenon/unknown sector has it's own uniqye track (file names from 11110 thru 11252).

if you replace the soundtrack files in the X3 directory, the game should automaticly use the new ones, it would not require the start of a new game, for a list of wich spng relates to what sector look here:Before anyone starts to ask: there is no way to assign the songs to a specific Sektor. Not without modifying the gamefiles + a new start of the game, as far as i know.

right and wrong.
my musicpack DOES work without starting a new game. What i meant and tried to do in the first place, is to assign 1 track to every sector.
the game has about ~100 sectors but only 30 sector tracks, so the tracks are placed in a diagonal way over the sector map, so that e.g. "Cloudbase Nothwest", "Powercircle" and "Queens Space" have the same track...

its a little confusing so i better remove it from the initial post.
I tryed to upload to mirrors, but i dont have time to check tthem regularly and they went down very quick.

Re: [MUSIC REPLACEMENT] MusicPackMK1
simply replacing the files works fine, however, like illogan said, sectors are assigned certain tracks, so same race sectors usually have the same tracks playing. Only way to change that would be to change what sound track is assigned to each sector in the galaxy map. Editing the galaxy map requires a restartsuperbun wrote:if you replace the soundtrack files in the X3 directory, the game should automaticly use the new ones, it would not require the start of a new game, for a list of wich spng relates to what sector look here:Before anyone starts to ask: there is no way to assign the songs to a specific Sektor.
