Just a really minor point.

When i picked up the concussion weapon, the computer voice said....

Cargo bay now contains......

And that's it, nothing about the name of the object collected.

guess they must have left those bits out then, they did other things like the sector names - "you are now entering elysium of light" etc.

No, the additional sector names were already recorded as "spares" in the original release of the game.

Given the extremely clumsy way she says it, I thought Elysium of Light was constructed by chopping together the audio for the sector names Home of Light and Mists of Elysium...would explain why they chose such a bizarre name for the sector, too!

That's also possible for that particular sector.
