Ok, so we get a few scripts that we have had access to for months? that's it? that's the big update we've been waiting for?
what's the ETA on a patch that actually fixes the game?
surely they know about all the random crashes, lockups, saved game corruptions, and the many, many, miscellaneous bugs like ship's being unbalanced in the game still?
I mean it's nice they actually acknowledge that there are fans of the series still here and all but I really think they could of spent thier time more wisely.
Sigh... I guess beggers can't be choosers though... *downloads*

99% of users don't GET random crashes, lockups, or savegame corruptions. As for ships being unbalanced, they're SUPPOSED to be--if all the ships were exactly the same what would the point in having different ones be?

lol, ok, so your saying an m3 is SUPPOSED to take out hordes of capital ships? or that the rear turret on my boron TL is SUPPOSED to not work?
or that m5's are SUPPOSED to constantly suicide into ships thier supposed to attack? or that friggen GOD script is SUPPOSED to to completely delete tractor beams first thing and factories that my stations use regularly?
judging by your surprise that someone would even suggest the game doesn't need fixing, are we to assume that there will not be any more bug fix patches from egosoft?
there are a lot of things to fix in this game, I realise it can't be perfect, but come on, how long does it take to fix some things like that boron TL turret? that should of been fixed months ago. Numerous people (includeing me) posted about it, only to be constantly ignored in the bug fix patches.

You are mistakenly assuming this is a bugfix patch.
It is not. Its a release of officially authorised scripts so that people can use them in the game without needing to activate the script editor.
While a gameplay bugs and issues patch is sadly needed, Egosoft have not made any intention clear to address any further issues with the game. If they do, the only 2 people who would announce such are CBJ and Burnit!
Talk about gameplay issues here is the wrong place, as this thread is about the release of scripts that add functionality to the 'vanila' game.
Edit : Thankyou mod for moving this.

Have we?
There are three separate "dreams":
1. Patch by Ego
2. Expansion by Ego, ie new content
3. Third party scripts signed by Ego
BTW, the contents of the BonusPack was known months ahead, quite unlike 1 or 2 will be.

Sorry, should have written:

I laugh how they bitch about bugs and how they are not being sorted when unless there is a 14+ page topic on the bugs, the dev's dont even know about them unless they are posted in DevNet.
Btw i'm not a member of devnet so i'm not sure if there are any bug lists in that forum, or indeed if they are aloud.

The Tech Support forums are the right place to report problems. Relevant information IS passed on from there.

CBJ, I would assume that the majority of the bugs and issues thread OP as it was locked, would be unwelcome in Tech support. Would I be correct ?
Assuming I am, what would be the proper procedure for listing the know problems within the game so that tech support can take them seriously ?
I havent been following tech support forum, so I do not know what has been listed there before, but suspect gripes have been posted, and yet, no apparent work hs been done on what I and many consider to be game-killer bugs.
I'm open to guidance as to how to present the known bugs that cause the most trouble to the devs via tech support.

The thread was locked at your request, partly because people started arguing in it.
The more formal processes of listing, reporting and researching of issues is handled elsewhere and for a variety of reasons is not undertaken on the public forums.
If you are aware of "game-killer" problems that you don't think are known about then feel free to report them on Tech Support, but remember that your personal assessment of it is a "game-killer" does not automatically mean that it will be accorded top priority.

Yes, I remember.

Understood, and I would do it the same way.

I've just looked in Tech support, and in the first 5 pages, I saw only 3 direct gameplay issues mentioned, and only one of them is one of the hotley debated in here, and it hadnt had any replys, being somewhat hard to understand I think.
I'm going to open a new gameplay issues thread here, quoting the old one for people to read and recompile a new list of issues considered to be genuine bugs.
I'm aware of the differences in peoples assessment of what constitutes a game killer bug differs from Egosofts, and will use your comments on the previous thread as a guide as to what should be submitted.
Once a stable list is compiled, I'll submit an edited version with supporting evidence to Tech support for the devs to review.
If we let people suggest and argue things here for a couple of weeks, before submitting an actual bug/issue report to Tech support, then the actual report can be argument free and as concise as I can make it. In theory anyway

for the bonus pack - everything which was already released for X2 should have been implemented in X3 since the beginning - it´s not a bonus pack, it´s a "sorry we forgot it in the beginning" pack
