Iguana Vanguard, good TP to keep it following me around?

Hi. Im fairly new to the game and got my hands on the Iguana Vanguard:

Iguana Vanguard, the freebie that is flying around without pilot. Got myself also the freebie Mamba Raider and Nova, and been trying to get recognition witht he argon to sell the Mamaba and Nova for a Brand new Nova Raider. However, I'm not that sure on selling the Iguana, fully upgraded has a speed of 187! Decent shields, good ability to defend itself, and what i like it is that i has a cargo hold of 517 (yes not much but enough for carrying extra crap that i want to have handy nearby me).

So being it so fast and all, it seems to me that this Iguana is good for having it follow me around (fast enough for it to never get far behind me) and with cargo space enough to have carry all the extra energy cells, missiles, fighter dornes and random crap that u can get floating in space withouth having to use the precious cargo space of my future Nova Raider. So waht do ya guys think, is the Iguana Vanguard a keeper? Or should i rather use the money to get some real good M4 to escort my trader?

I would (and did) keep it. Its great for hauling stuff around early in the game, though once you can afford a TS for picking up after your messes the TP cargo hold looks puny.

The Iguana speed seems kind of handy- though I'm not sure its *that* advantageous for cargo holding/hauling.

Maybe the best reason to keep it is I don't think M4 escorts are ever going to really help you (or your traders).

Once I could afford to, i bought a mercury, fitted it with a jumpdrive, and had it just jump in to resupply me as an when needed.
