We are thinking of adding some newsflash articles to the bbs boards, these can be serious articles or just something reporting a humourous thing which has hapened.

Please try to keep anything you come up with within the X storyline.

Argon courtrooms today have inprisioned a Teladi passenger transport pilot for 12 Jazura's for the unlawful killing of a space warden.

When asked why he killed the space warden, the pilot answered " I was going to hit the transporter button to get the parking ticket the warden left on my screen, but i accidently caught the boost control, as my Toucan hit him at full throttle he got smeared on my windshield.

The ruling judge said he did not believe the pilot's story of it being an accident due to the way Teladi's hate to lose credit's.

'ARGON SUSPECTS SPLIT SABOTAGE'

The Argon authorites are suspecting Split sabotage of the Argon Prime equipment dock. The leaked report which we managed to obtain pointed to possible Split sabotage of the equipment docks 'waste' facility and show footage of a Split pilot entering the wrong 'facilities'. As the Split people are known to have a much larger stomach and bowell than Argons, certain members of our security have seen the blockage and the resulting evacuation of the equipment dock as an act of sabotage.
When we approached a representative of the Split government, we were given the following statement, "Split say go away, Split was only washing hands, Split not like the stinky lizards"
It is also believed crisis talks between the Argon and Split governments concerning this incident are taking place behind closed doors. More as we get it.......

TELADI SCAMMED

"For the past Mazura we've been getting reports of a large build up of Teladi ships in the sector of Bala Gi's Joy'. As a result, the other governments started probing Teladi officials to the purpose of this apparent build up, but stopped their investigations when it became clear that the majority of the ships were trading vessels.
After bribing many Teladi piolts and officials, we believe we have found the cause.
It seems appoximately 2 mazuras ago, a Teladi Independant trader, Dradess Bilaniss II, claimed he had come across a Yaki pirate treasure hoard hidden in the Bala Gi's Joy sector worth millions of credits. The story quickly spread throughout the Teladi sectors. With a couple of Teladi Traders deciding to search for this treasure hoard prompted a lot of other Teladi traders to follow suit in the search for this treasure hoard.
When we caught up with Dradess Bilaniss II who has made record profits by snapping up some very lucrative contracts over the last mazura, due to the shortage of freighters to move wares between the stations in the Teladi home systems told us "Who needs treasure, when there are millionsss of creditss to be made right here."
The board of the Teladi Trading Company are believed to be considering Dradess Bilaniss II for board membership after such an ingenious scam."

The first one. Note, that I've used the name 'Ni-Sha-La' for the Boron home world, as it does appear in the German X-novels by Helge. I'm trying to translate some more today. And of course: I hope it's readable

‘Save the Space Flies Wozura’ has opened

A charity concert of well known Boron musicians has opened this jazura’s ‘Save the Space Flies Wozura’ on the Boron home world Ni-Sha-La. Artists of various kinds of music performed a nice evening to about 100,000 people, who visited the plateau of Fi-Ris, in the near of the residence of Her Majesty. Queen Lar Atreus herself initiated the program by singing the old melody ‘La’a-ir makol rikhatim.’ She was followed by the band Rogo Ton, which especially the younger part enjoyed. Some other artists have to be mentioned: the opera singer Dulila Mo, as well as the two bands Argon Waters and The Eels. The event was crowned by the final act, the song of two tamed green whales, accompanied with the play of the Royal Boron Toneshell Orchestra.

Again, the largest charity of the Galaxy will also present many other events, like it has done in the recent jazuras. There will be a space show in the sector of Lucky Planets and a long distance swimming championship on planet Tethys. Pola Ru, secretary of the environment, explained in her opening speech, that she’s hoping to see the charitable donations establish a new record, as it has done last jazura. You can donate at the Bank of Boron in sector Kingdom End, keyword ‘Save the Space Flies.’

Warning: Gamma radiation pulse on way to sector Light Water

The Royal Boron Institute of Astronomy is warning against a gamma radiation pulse, which is moving towards the sector of Light Water. It was detected by deep space probe Boron Astromaniac, which was sent out to the solar system RN 608 to analyse the local neutron star. The data, which has been collected by the probe, identifies the star as the origin of the pulse. Lar Ptorenea, leading Boron physician, explained, that a planetoid of medium size had moved into the star’s gravitational field and crashed down there. The pulse was created as the additional material was absorbed.

Since the pulse damaged the scanners of Boron Astromaniac, there’s no exact data available to define the probe’s position at the moment of the impact, which leaves unknown, when the pulse is going to pass the inhabited parts of the sector. Vessels, which were boarded with special equipment, have already been sent to the outer limits of the sector. They are trying to localize the pulse exactly to name it’s arrival time.

Lar Ptorenea also explained, that theirs is no danger for the population and space lanes travellers. She pointed out, that all modern shield systems are serialized to protect crews from such phenomena. The population of the ground based colonies will be protected efficiently by the magnetic field of their planet. Therefore pilots, who plan to visit the sector in the next tazuras, are advised to keep their shields online. They should especially take care, if their shields were produced before jazura 738. In such cases pilots should definitely get their systems checked by a mechanic and update them, if needed to. As space suits aren’t able to give enough protection, the local authorities have forbidden to leave ships or stations. Meanwhile the ministry of environment is still debating, what tactics can be taken to protect the sector’s large population of space flies.

Abka Tu Mining plans investments of high amount

Today Veka No, chairman of Abka Tu Mining, announced, that his company plans to invest twenty million credits in the area around the sector Reservoir of Tranquillity during the next five mazuras. The main aims are the purchase of five asteroids, which posses a high density of rich ores, and the establishment of a large scale mining colony on the third moon of the gas giant Lehril V. To support the miners and their families, factories, producing all kinds of objects of utility, will be integrated into the colony. A station complex will be created in the sector to support the asteroid-based mines with energy and food. It is also planned to build a company owned crystal fab to satisfy the needs of the power plants.

Abka Tu Mining was forced to take a loan, which the company has received from the Bank of Boron. As a result of government intervention the bank charges only low interests. The government is supporting the company, because the large scale investment is supposed to give an economic boost to the entire region. Also is the extension of ore output supposed to act as a lowering of the costs for the resources needed by the royal armaments manufacturers in the sector of Depths of Silence. The Ni-Sha-La stock market saw shares of Abka Tu Mining and the regional shipyards rising steeply after the announcement.

@ Boron Pi, perfectly worded BBS news stories, had me laughing for ages with the one about the Boron bands. I never had tears streaming with laughter for a while now, until I read those. Excellent stuff indeed.
