I like that idea.

The UFO base certainly keeps coming back, and it is in the files.

Theres also the Goner research base.

The report of the mad goner crossing xenon space in a souped up ship.

What else ?

Hmm....this thing seems tobe a really good idea. I'd like too see it when it's complete. Oh and while we're on the subject of UFO and Goner stuff, I'm sure you all allready know, but why do I lose Goner rep when I illegally scan the UFO??
Keep the goodwork

who knows, strangely tho I once killed a UFO with a modded X-Shuttle and my rank went UP!!

anyway, back on-topic --> looking forward to seeing this for one reason of having all my favourite guides together :)
"There must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the universe can be said to be zero, From this it follows that the population of the universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination" - Douglas Adams

I am a n00b to the X games, and have found X3 interesting, brilliant, and 100x better than Freelancer. But I would like to see more info on things, like what x dose to y, (e.g. what TSm2 dose, cos I have got it, but I **** use it). I would also like to see a help on how to take a screenshot.

And if you could put the mod tools in to a downloaded pack with Hand Book, that would be cool as well.

I'm not sure what your referring to with "TSm2". TS is a freighter. M2 is a destroyer. Neither have much to do with the other. If you can explain that better, someone may be able to help.

The mod tools are easy to download, go to the sticky thread in the scripting/modding forum, click on the 2 links in there and download. Easy.

Trade 2 is for factory ships so they can sell your product.

Your right though, a list of software needs doing.

Edit : Software guide in place.

The basics are all listed and a few scripts. It needs some work to flesh out and include all the scripted software.

New update in place.

A few loose ends and some permissions needed and the first draft will be ready. :)

I need some help with the software list, as said in the edit to the previous message.

I also need to collect a lot more signature lines or X3 one-liners that are funny.

Another Update but a major milestone passed.

The X3 handbook now exists as a First draft entity, ready for checking by the contributors.

Hosting for download is being organised.

Keep you posted.

Still want submissions on any of the wanted things in the list in the OP. I can make changes for a while to this version, so anything received will get included rapidly.

Thankyou for everyones support and help. :)

New update in the OP.

Phase one complete.

Phase two begun.

I need screenshots from peoples games. Lots of them and lots of variety, so I can insert them to break up the text.

Anything accepted, I'll use what comes to mind in a particular spot.

Phase 2 is almost complete now. Pics inserted all over the place, still a few to come.

File size is now a zip of about 5mb. I'll try to keep it from growing much more.

Release of version 1.1 is now imminent !

It is having some final checks and hosting is being organised.

If anyone is interested in getting the handbook on disc, let me know and I will consider the logistics of doing this.

I've had 1 request so far, if I get enough, I'll organise it.

The link to respawn in the first post should work but if it does not the handbook can be found in my X3 download area here along with files from other people and Apricotesslices tractorbeam mod.
