Quick question about time limits if I may.

I took a mission last night with a 39 mizura time limit. The game time when I took the mission was 19:44. When I docked with the goods it was 20:20, so I had made the time. I got no message, good or otherwise.

I then did another mission, made the time, and got the success message.

So my question. Is the time limit set when the mission is generated, as opposed to when the mission is taken? That would explain my not making the cutoff even though I thought I had, and also any funnies people are getting when they get very short times.

no, the timer should start when you accept the mission, ill have to have a look at the timings

* Improved missions
* limit of highend goods in missions
* Removed non tradable wares
* changed guild membership fee to random

just a few updates to hopefully fix some problems with the missions Smile

Hi Cycrow,

Nice script (v1.12), gives interesting information, and some good buys.

One very minor problem so far (after many days playing) - just had a Merchant Guild Traders Network Update: Best Sells, the top four entries are O.K., but the fifth is:-

Unknown Object(Unknown Object) is buying Energy Cells for 0 credits

Just a minor glitch,

Hi Cycrow,

Just found another small bug...

Had the chance to buy a range of products, one of which was:-

4991 Beta Photon Pulse Cannon for -1019663474

(I don't remember the rest, they cost money)

Couldn't resist this (in real merchant fashion), so saved game, expanded the cargo bay in my modified XP shuttle to 9,000,000, and then "bought" them... Got the 4991 lasers and 1 billion plus credits..

Using the Banking script, as the amount is rather too big for X3 to cope with. I have sold off a lot of the guns (2505 left) and have 2,900,998,000 credits in the bank plus over 45 million in my pocket....

Sure is slow selling them 2 at a time...

ah, the minus figure is because the price was too high to fit in the varbiel so its been wrapped around.

didn't think about the really expensive items actaully, will have to fix that and limit the nubmer for expensive items Smile

Congratulations on all the excellent scripts CyCrow, they're top notch.

I have found a minor bug though...I took a merchant delivery mission (145 Adv Satellites to Dukes Domain I think it was...not that that matters). I got there within the time, but didn't get a confirmation message to say I'd done the mission.

After re-docking to check I'd got the right place (yup...I had)...still no message. But, checking the cargo bay revealed that the satellites had been removed and my guild status had gone up too...so I'm guessing I did complete it ok...but definately got no completion message.

Keep up the good work.

i just started a new game as the humble merchant and when i go to check my guild status it tells me i am not a member of any guild. i just updated to 1.4. i had a 1.3 game that started fine but after 1.4 update i kept getting random game freezes.

Got a message about me bringing them 85 units of null. now where am I meant to get that from? Damn Teladi will try and trade anything! lol.

Also...the best deals lists on the BBS...I don't think it's particularly valuable as it is. I have some suggestions on improvements to it...

1) If it only showed known sectors and better yet known fabs...

2) If it stuck to only showing deals within...say 6 jumps (wouldn't be hard to change if people didn't like it I guess)

3) It has a habit of showing the same deal twice.

4) The best would be a combination of the two...it shows most profit ratio deals: find the 30 cheapest products, compare them to the best selling price within 4 jumps, and display the top 5 of those

product :: buying place ::number :: Price :: jumps
:: selling place:: number :: Price :: jumps (from buying place)
:: Max number that could fit in cargobay :: profit per unit :: gross profit


Now that would be a perk of the guild that would really be worth it.

well, i've been thinking of adding the local best deals, so it displays the best display in the local area as well as the best deals in the universe

the problem with matching up the best deals in the universe, ie, the best buys against the best sales, means the script will need to search every sector, for every station to check the best prices, then compare them against the beest sale prices, althou its possible to do and i know how to do it, it will be too slow. without any waits, it will take too long to finish causing the game to constally freeze, and with waits, it will take too long to finish. and by the time its finished, the prices are no longer valid.

i had to sacrifice efficentiy for speed, which is y it doesn't find the best deals in the universe, jsut the really good deals

* Amount of goods is now based on the cost of the ware
* No more ridiculus missions where you get paid more than the game can handle
* Total cost for missions is now based more on the level
* Improved speed for generating missions
* Amount of space required for deliervy missions is based on level

Future:
Advanced Best Sales Computer.
Upgrade to find the best deals for ur current cargo across the traders network
