What do woman like? Wright, they like you to talk about your feelings.
So let's do so and explain why you need to play X3.
Tell here that playing X3 helps you relax and ensures you don't get frustrated about something and take it out on to your girlfriend.
If she starts with "Let's talk about what is bothering you", just tell here you need to relax first and talk about it later and that is the way you are.
An other positive thing is when you can say how long your "relaxing" is going to take. Please, keep your promise, for your own sake.
I know it works, because playing X3 helps me relax, but I can play aswell without the need to relax.

Compromises dont work with women. give them 15min extra and they will drag your sorry ass to the nearest shop to buy something, on your credit card of course.
Im glad though that my wife does not play. She is definitely not a household cleaning person but i can imagine the devastation if she would get hooked on wow for example. My friends wife is hooked on oblivion and it has caused severe strain to their relationship.

Got girl/X3 compatability issues? Try worms - its great fun in 2 player and the worms are really 'cute' and come out with some of the most ridiculous lines ever. Only the 2D versions though... the 3D ones are too hard!
Hehe 6 player worms... it can be soo funny im surprised it aint censored!

Aye, that game is a mostly-unknown classic.
3D was so ridiculously hard. I couldn't even move proper. (Returned the day I bought it.)

Oh dear, just be laughing with my wife about this thread.
Her response was (to some of the suggestions mentioned about how to "occupy" the wife while I play X3):
"DON'T YOU TRY ANY OF THOSE xxxxING TRICKS, KNOW GET OFF THE LAPTOP, YOU ARE DOING MY HEAD IN"........
Can't win can we blokes!?!

I quit X3 ever since my college starts again and cannot understand why would anyone drag their female companion into a unproductive life of videogaming.
Remember, when you are playing X3, you are interacting with machine, not even live person. |
what's the difference between that and watching a movie or a T.V. show, besides the fact that gaming actually uses your brain? |
for the record, I don't watch TV, and watching movies teach you new knowledge and expand your intellectual horizon. Playing game will only lead you to one result (becoming rich/powerful, etc), it's a pointless and repetitive activity. I would rather use the create-ship command then wasting my time in real life for GPPCs, etc.

BEWARNED - X3 = less time with "her" that may lead to no "her" at all.
@EGOSOFT - why didn't you put a warning on the box

good point, the ops problem very may be more about them not having very much going on other than eachother and work. Even without tryign to find X3 time... married couples need their own interest and time to do them.

If you sue Egosoft you will lose. Quote from the manual:
Getting Started
Welcome to X³: Reunion
‘Say goodbye to social life and/or sleep’
Egosoft delivers as ordered. You also clicked on the 'i agree' part on the eula when you installed X3

Place your pc desk and pc beside the sofa then while your partner sits watching the tv you can sit beside her and play X3 to your hearts content thats how i solved the problem now i never have any moaning about always being on the pc and never spending time talking to my partner. Oh yes and there is the added bonus of all that extra comfort with my wireless K/B on my knee i can sit back on my sofa in comfort much better than that horrible computer chair.
