Capturing the prototype paranid perseus

IS it possible to capture the prototype with its 125mw sheilds intact or will you always end up with three slots for 25mw sheilds?

The perseus has 3 slots for 25MW shields. So even if the 125MW shield would remain intact, it would (and could) probably not be equipped.

But 75MW shields still make it the best shielded M3in the game

The Perseus mission is programmed to lose the 125MW shields after capturing it. But you still get a ship with 3x25MW shield bays, which is still better than a poke in the eye

I have managed to get the 125MW shields off the Perseus. Here's how I did it.

Whilst capturing the Perseus, I,ve found a way to get hold of the 125MW shields off the ship. As an experiment, I was reloading from a save game to try and get the Perseus with the jump drive and lasers intact on capture. On a couple of occasions on capture, I noticed that the shields on the Perseus started to regenerate (a bit like other ships do, but for a longer period). I checked the information of the Perseus during this period of time and the 2 x 125MW shields were still listed. When the Paranids hailed me to congratulate me, the shields disappeared and I ended up with three empty shield slots that would take a total of 75MW max (as per normal). What I did was to use the freight beamer to transfer the 125MW shields from the Perseus to the X shuttle before the Paranids hailed me. A nice little earner (2 x 1.7 Million credits) if you sell them. Used them in a new carrier. Pity I can't reinstall them back in the Perseus though.
