sanketn wrote:Well, since the other missing files are in the TC mov folder, the only missing file for those who installed the game after the delete was performed and those who don't have undelete, is "00244.dat" file yes?
Yep, that seems to be the case.
sanketn wrote:How large is the that file? Is it illegal for some kind and benevolent user :P to put it up on some free server and supply a download link? :P

That would greatly help people like me who cant wait to start playing (without subtitles)...
I second this, anyone, please?

Sound advice, only it won't help much in this particular case.

my german version didnt own ANY of the three voice related files, maybe theres some kind of sub-problem with the localized version too? on the other hand, you can get the older TC versions in its respective folder at least, so youre then only missing the 0024x

Files that should be in the terran conflict\addon\mov folder (before the mess Steam did today) are:

Code: Select all

00044.pck (105.092 Bytes) (md5: bb189a5b49ee722c9f1c6ad9134b38f0)
00144.dat (269.633.863 Bytes) (md5: ec4352879e0731dd1c056e01c44cab66)
00244.dat (20.311.023 Bytes) (md5: 09527b09eb6fcf391ea2aa9b7ca363e9)
00810.dat (205.281.284 Bytes) (md5: 995c3696d4da262bfca9bdb06fba36f9)
00841.dat (233.836.548 Bytes) (md5: eb18e6d7ce0e9ae13e6780f3c97d86ed)
00144.dat is identical with the one from terran conflict\mov folder, the missing 00244.dat you can grap from here:
***

--edit--
00044.pcx is here: ***

--edit2--
Links removed because of official workaround and Steam resolved it as well.

I've compiled a general fix for this issue.

http://db.tt/49gZfasv (Dropbox)

This includes 00244.dat and 00044.pck, as well as instructions for installing 00144.dat!

EDIT: This is an ENGLISH fix. I don't have other languages installed, sorry!

Now we have a complete solution, until Steam can fix this on their end.

Just to confirm that, although we do not usually allow the uploading of game files for hosting elsewhere, 'Airstrike' Ivanov did ask for and receive permission to do so in this unusual case. This is not general permission, however, and it "expires" once Steam have solved the underlying problem.

(Edit: Working perfectly fine here after a little forum research)

Whew... and here I think I had accidentally deleted something (no matter how utterly ridiculously unlikely).

So... I take it that Steam 'foobared' this little problem yes?

Cheers,
M.

Is this for only new games?

Didn't work for me on an existing save but worked on a new game.
Not complaining, just wondering :) (only did about 4 hours anyway)

Thanks for the fix :)

It works on any save. You just copy the files in, undock, go through one jumpgate, dock again, save and restart the game, and it reloads the audio (I have no idea why, but that's what I had to do)

Can we ask for a sticky topic about the problem with all the listed solutions?

...copy paste from the rar and that go to another sector then dock then save and restart....

Just wonderful we don't have to start all over again.. ;p

Official downloads to work around this problem until it is fixed by Steam.

English:
http://www.egosoft.com/download/x3ap/fi ... fix_EN.zip

German:
http://www.egosoft.com/download/x3ap/fi ... fix_DE.zip

French
http://www.egosoft.com/download/x3ap/fi ... fix_FR.zip

These archives are about 300MB each and contain the appropriate lang.dat file as well as the voice data. Extract the archive of your choice to your steam "x3 terran conflict" folder, allowing it to overwrite existing files.
