[MOD] Replacement Event Horizon Textures v1.0

  • Original Style Hi Res Texture
  • Ripple

  • Animated textures of the above
  • Multiple textures to fit the different gates

Right Click and "Save As" (PS with IE you need to change it from .htm to .spk. This is a browser issue and beyond my control)

Installation:
  • Install SPK versions with Cycrows latest Plugin Managed v1.30 RC1
  • Extract zip versions to your X3TC install folder and the file will be placed automatically in the DDS folder of your install.

After popular request (ok 2 requests!) here is the Smilie Acid face one :D
It's only in 7z format and after extraction needs to be placed in the DDS folder of your X3 install :)

The red one would be my favourite without the ugly smiley.

I'd totaly add the 1st one to my game right now, though !

The texture itself is static, but it does rotate like the original event horizon
Any chance you could make the Stargate event horizon???
Lol i want to turn the hole thing into a dialing star gate(animation only)
No energy vortex, Because well... thats just going to look out of place lol

But i dont have the skills to animate a stargate

not asking for you to recreate a stargate, all I want is the event horizon effect that takes affect after dialing, rippling surface to be precise.....

I'll release a static version later tonight as an SPK and a drop in install (not CAT/DAT).

I have a 3rd version which is more like the original which I'll post too.

For the fire smilie I could probably make an angry red/orange one too.

hmmm.. i have trouble finding out why the horizon turns...
The gate isn't using animated textures nor have animated helpers..
hmmm ~ hmmmm..

somewhere somehow is telling argon_gate_effect.bob to spin...

Well we have a release, let me know if the SPK's work or not ;)

If they don't I'll fix them when I wake up. 4am is not the best time to upload a release :lol:

I tried dual ripple spk and it doesn't work. Normal D-load work fine.

Oops I forgot to define the install folder for the SPK's :$

Redownload the SPK version and it should work fine now :)
