:D Just out of curiosity, is X2 the threat, online multiplayer compatible or not, i got it with my new graphics card so i am lacking a manual!??, if X-2 isn't will the addon be multiplayer?

.....but it is a really big single player.

Give it a shot....it was free :)

hmnn cheers, and i was wonderin, do u have ne tips on where to find a lot of mass driver ammo cause at the moment i have 2 rounds :lol: and i could do with some for my Titan. Thanks

Mass driver ammo is rare, Argon Prime has A Ammo factory, but it is extremely hard to find this anywhere else.

My best bet is to make armies of factories yourself in your own private system :)

I wouldnt use MD's myself on big ships unless your against small ships. The turrets will eat the Ammo away like crazy and the large hull amount of the M1's and M2's will make attacks stupidly long.

if the ammo factory in argon prime is empty... check its stores (it usually needs cahoonas), pop whatever it needs in and seta for a min or two = fresh ammo.

The X2 game works in ways that are hard to make multiplayer. The multiplayer aspect of X2 is here on the forum! :)

This is the best game forum I have ever seen. :x2:

X2 as multiolayer.... hmmmmmm

That would be fun, they say it is difficult??

But not impossible, have a look at Microsoft's Freelancer
Wouldn't a MP engine like that work??

No, because Freelancer wasn't having to keep track of every ship in the universe--ships only really "existed" within a short distance of the player(s). This made the load of running the game considerably less than that X2 would require!

and that doesn't take into consideration balance issues either. In FL it doesn't matter if a player joins a server, he appears on a planet and takes off. For X2, if a player joined or left, his entire empire would appear or disappear - either that or he'd have to leave it "online" to be ravaged by malicious players.

that's just the start of the problems, there are numerous threads lying around discussing this issue (it is Egosoft's stated aim to have a MMO X-Universe game developed at some point in the future)

I'm no programming whiz, but maybe it's possible for someone to write a small mod to allow a 2 player lan game or similar?

It sure would be nice to have an intelligent wingmate for a change.

hmmmmm, good point, shame really.

While I was playing Freelancer online, I always dreamed of escorting a clan battleship in my heavy fighter.

Even in X2, I fly alongside my destroyers rather than in them.
