Missing Skull & Gear Logo
Just started a new play-through yesterday and have noticed my favourite logo is no longer in game. It was a Skull with a gear behind it, it is now just the gear without the skull.. is there any way to get my favourite logo back please?

You are presumably playing the beta.
Unfortunately it's a change we can't reverse in the standard game, but there's nothing to stop you copying the old one from a 2.6 game and using it as a custom logo.[Beta 9] Changed two standard player logos.
Re: Missing Skull & Gear Logo
Just curious, why it was removed? Coz of skull in it?

Is it because of chinese laws about the depiction of death?

My guess is that it's too similar to the Warhammer40k Adeptus Mechanicus logo. I think I've worked out how to do this, I've opted out of the beta, am now unpacking the cat/dat files with the xr unpacker tool. Once thats done I should have access to the directory the logo's are stored in.

Re: Missing Skull & Gear Logo
These logo files from the old 2.6 version are *.gz compressed, and contain files with no alias? am I ok to just place the .gz files in the logo's directory or do I need to decompress them first? Also is the unaliased unknown format they are in ok, or do I need to alias them or format them or something?
I'm asking now but I'm unable to try it out until Beta10 gets a hotfix to make it playable in Linux.

One of you got it right here, why it was done and it has nothing to do with warhammer.
I uploaded both changed icons for you again.
Grab em while they are hot! =D

Thanks Lino, I owe you a big bag of cookies for that! Turns out just putting the *.gz files in the logos folder works fine.
To get Linux to run Beta10 I had to use Proton. I've posted the exact workaround for that in both the X4 Beta and Tech support forums.
I also performed the Usual Benedictions;
3 odes to machinery
3 Omnissiah Magnificent
3 Hymns of the Magos
as well as;
3 Prayers of Saint Energy Transfer
3 Prayers of Saint Maintenance and of Saint Stability
3 invocations of the Magos Belno
and repeated the process untill it worked.
